Day 8 of learning UX. Trying to gain momentum again this week by working on pending tasks/assignments from Week 1. This week is my 2nd week of self-studying UX.

Today I accomplished the ff:

Applied what I learned and made a User Persona

Started learning Figma basics

Day 7 of learning UX. Studied Persona today. Learned about its role in UX design.

Need to catch up on these tasks though:

Audit and app's UX

Create a user Persona (apply what I've learned)

I might get busy with work this week so I'm pacing myself by doing light studying only. I think I'll absorb the information better this way than rushing myself to learn plus it will also keep me from burning out from studying and work.

My favorite quote from today's material was from Designer Helga Moreno (The Gap Between UX and UI Design): "Something that looks great but is difficult to use is exemplary of great UI and poor UX. While something very usable that looks terrible is exemplary of great UX and poor UI.”

Glad I'm enjoying the lessons and I'm consistently showing up every day. Since I'm only self-studying I thought I would be bored and will lose motivation but I'm doing good so far. Looking forward to finishing this program and being able to build a UX portfolio before the year ends.

Day 3 of learning UX. I learned about the 10 Usability Heuristics today.

My key takeaway from today's lesson:

"Communicate, don't decorate. Over-decoration can cause distraction"

Also want to highlight how designs should speak the users language. Designers should use words, phrases, and concepts familiar to the user rather than internal jargon.

So yeah, communication really is 🗝️
