In March 2018 Martin Freeman was interviewed by The Telegraph. Freeman is quoted as saying:
âThere was a chunk of people who just knew it was going to end with us getting together. Me and Ben, we have literally never, never played a moment like lovers. We ainât f***ing lovers.â
Thatâs a lie. And rude. I never thought Iâd say this, but Martin Freeman can fuck off. Iâm done.
Call the fanbulance! (Gorgeous edit by Zuzka Klementova.)
OH MY GOD?!?!?!?!
There is an American sitcom called Difficult People and it has a character that works for PBS. In a recent episode the person was listening to viewer voicemails and one said (in a manâs voice) âI didnât watch Sherlock so I could see Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman NOT kiss!â
This is the first time Iâve heard Sherlockâs queerbaiting directly referenced on TV.
WHAT
I love that showâŚ. I need to catch up. (Also, Iâm not getting into âqueerbaitingâ vis a vis an unfinished story, but still. One more reason to love Julie Klausner. This is amazing.)
fyi hereâs the clip:Â

The show is excellent and on Hulu, I recommend it.
Thank you so much!

The âsecretâ London project mentioned at Comic-Con is rumored to be the BBCâs new theme park. My guess is the Sherlock attraction will be a rollercoaster covered in homoerotic imagery that comes to a sudden stop in front of a sign that says âNO HOMOâ.
đ #bbcsherlock #sherlockholmes #johnwatson #johnlock (at Yonkers, New York)
Am I the only one out there still holding a sliver of hope that Gatiss or Moffat might announce something about more Sherlock episodes while promoting Dr. Who at Comic-Con next week? (Thur-Sun, July 20-23, 2017)
Headcanon
In HLV they had to change the script to a handshake because every time they did the hug Martin would bury his head in Bens neck and Ben would rest his head on martins. Like Moffat would be like âjust a proper embrace! Oh ffs just do a handshakeâ
This is probably a recurring theme on setÂ
âThis scene isnât supposed to be sexual. Stop doing that.â
âGuys, youâre making everyone uncomfortable. Could you take it down a few notches?â
âFor the love of god, just look at each other like normal people. Please.â
âPretty sure the script didnât say anything about eye fucking.â
âMaybe we could try that without you touching his ass?â
Iâd like to download this post and keep it forever how do I do that
I canât imagine John and Mary having sex. And thatâs particularly odd given the actors were married and had children. ?!

Itâs okay. Itâs not okay. No, but it is what it is.
âThe Lying Detective (2017)
This is my new favorite thing. Lizzardlock rules.
It's 2:00 am but hear me out
SO as many of you might know, Andrew Scott recently said in an interview that season 5 of Sherlock will not be realeased for a while - specifically around 2019 or 2020, which brought me and many others back to a hopeless state of TJLC mind.
However, @the-sad-snek and I have conjured up a theory about this.
As many of you might know, the Sherlock cast, crew, and of course, writers, are known as liars, manipulators, and cover-ups. They lie to surprise us or confuse us, which theyâre FULLY aware throws TJLCers off the rails. Now, everyone on the Sherlock cast has told some decently sized lie about the showâs upcoming events. Everyone, except for Andrew Scott .
@the-sad-snek and I agreed that Andrew wouldnât lie to us simply because he has never told a lie.
After all, Why would precious Andrew Scott tell a lie?
WELL. At first we were led to believe it was true. He never lied, he wouldnât lie - but maybe thatâs the point.
Theoritically, Mofftiss may have selected Andrew Scott specifically, as the one cast member who has never lied. The most trustworthy. To broadcast this message to the fandom in order to derail us slightly. However, knowing Sherlockians, not all of them will calm down. They havenât since the 1800s.
But if Mofftiss can throw a few hundred, or rather, thousand, they can make the impact of a surprise so much greater.
They want to surprise us. They want to make us question our deduction skills, but the most effective way to do so, is to throw us off.
But who knows. Maybe Andrew Scott was telling the truth. Maybe not. But from my point of view, I canât trust anyone on the Sherlock crew.
I mean- The Moriarty glitches on BBC One and BBC America are STILL happening. Itâs excruciatingly obvious that the glitches happen for a reason, and that it isnât genuinely a glitch. (BBC could fix it if it was).
Give us Johnlock or give usâŚa properly well-written season of Sherlock.
I believe the show runners are gaslighting us so that EVERYONE can be surprised by the new season.
11 signs of GASLIGHTING
1. They tell blatant lies.
You know itâs an outright lie. Yet they are telling you this lie with a straight face. Why are they so blatant? Because theyâre setting up a precedent. Once they tell you a huge lie, youâre not sure if anything they say is true. Keeping you unsteady and off-kilter is the goal.
2. They deny they ever said something, even though you have proof.
You know they said they would do something; you know you heard it. But they out and out deny it. It makes you start questioning your realityâmaybe they never said that thing. And the more they do this, the more you question your reality and start accepting theirs.
3. They use what is near and dear to you as ammunition.
They know how important your kids Johnlock are to you, and they know how important your identity is to you. So those may be one of the first things they attack. If you have kids, they tell you that you should not have had those children. They will tell youâd be a worthy person if only you didnât have a long list of negative traits. They attack the foundation of your being.
4. They wear you down over time.
This is one of the insidious things about gaslightingâit is done gradually, over time seven years. A lie here, a lie there, a snide comment every so oftenâŚand then it starts ramping up. Even the brightest, most self-aware people can be sucked into gaslightingâit is that effective. Itâs the âfrog in the frying panâ analogy: The heat is turned up slowly, so the frog never realizes whatâs happening to it.
5. Their actions do not match their words.
When dealing with a person or entity that gaslights, look at what they are doing rather than what they are saying. What they are saying means nothing; it is just talk. What they are doing is the issue.
6. They throw in positive reinforcement to confuse you.
This person or entity that is cutting you down, telling you that you donât have value, is now praising you for something you did. This adds an additional sense of uneasiness. You think, âWell maybe they arenât so bad.â Yes, they are. This is a calculated attempt to keep you off-kilterâand again, to question your reality. Also look at what you were praised for; it is probably something that served the gaslighter.
7. They know confusion weakens people.
Gaslighters know that people like having a sense of stability and normalcy. Their goal is to uproot this and make you constantly question everything. And humansâ natural tendency is to look to the person or entity that will help you feel more stableâand that happens to be the gaslighter. Â
8. They project.
They are a drug user or a cheater, yet they are constantly accusing you of that. This is done so often that you start trying to defend yourself, and are distracted from the gaslighterâs own behavior.
9. They try to align people against you.
Gaslighters are masters at manipulating and finding the people they know will stand by them no matter whatâand they use these people against you. They will make comments such as, âThis person knows that youâre not right,â or âThis person knows youâre useless too.â Keep in mind it does not mean that these people actually said these things. A gaslighter is a constant liar. When the gaslighter uses this tactic it makes you feel like you donât know who to trust or turn toâand that leads you right back to the gaslighter. And thatâs exactly what they want: Isolation gives them more control. Â
10. They tell you or others that you are crazy.
This is one of the most effective tools of the gaslighter, because itâs dismissive. The gaslighter knows if they question your sanity, people will not believe you when you tell them the gaslighter is abusive or out-of-control. Itâs a master technique. Â
11. They tell you everyone else is a liar.
By telling you that everyone else (your family, the media) is a liar, it again makes you question your reality. Youâve never known someone with the audacity to do this, so they must be telling the truth, right? No. Itâs a manipulation technique. It makes people turn to the gaslighter for the âcorrectâ informationâwhich isnât correct information at all.
The more you are aware of these techniques, the quicker you can identify them and avoid falling into the gaslighterâs trap. Â
(X)Â
This felt important to share at this time. I do not appreciate being made to feel manipulated by a couple of over-privileged men who think they are smarter than me. I know what I saw and interpreted in this Godforsaken show! I am not some delusional tween that wants to fetishize two men by having their dicks touch. I am a smart capable grown-ass woman and I will be damned if I allow these two pos keep trying to make me feel as if I am wrong.
Whatever happens- or doesnât- regarding another series, we should ALL stop making excuses and excusing their lies and manipulation as some kind of game. I will continue to read this show and analyze and love it, but because of what I see and understand with my own two eyes.
Mofftiss can suck it. They will never have my respect or admiration ever again.
I struggle with this. The show runners think they're being clever by throwing people off their trail. I believe it will be revealed S4 was some type of dream sequence, but does that forgive the gaslighting? Probably not.
Outing fictional characters?
I was talking to a friend about how the Sherlock show runners have such contempt for their JohnLock fans. He said "Of course they're mad. You basically OUTED their characters before they were ready. You wouldn't do that to a real person." Could that be how Moffat and Gatiss feel? They thought they had this clever idea for a slow burn romance that would be a REVELATION to the audience when revealed, and we beat them to the punch. I still believe JohnLock is/was their endgame, but we may have spoiled it in their eyes. I still don't have sympathy for Moffat, he needs to be an adult about this. You can't put so many clues in a mystery show and then expect people not to talk about them. What do you think? Is it possible to out fictional characters?
Why was I so convinced of the existence of The Lost Special?
Occamâs razor. Thereâre simply too many signs that TJLC is real. The universe is rarely so lazy and I donât believe in that sort of coincidences. Iâm convinced that S1-S3 were all leading to the big Johnlock reveal.
But the forth season was a mess. Not only did it not bring us closer to Johnlock, it left people thinking that the series turned rubish. Even if Johnlock happened in S5, it wouldnât be revolutionary or history making.
I just couldnât wrap my head around it. I didnât believe that Mofftiss would destroy their own creation so fundamentaly.
The only thing that could have saved the situation was an immediate additional episode that would have made sense of S4. Otherwise, come S5 with all the explanations, anyone could argue that TPTB are just trying to save their asses after S4 fiasco. Johnlock would be doomed.
The Lost Special really seemed like Sherlockâs only hope. I turned all TFHC and posted enthusiastic devotion declarations. I calculated the date over and over again. I searched for signs.
What I missed in all this was something I dismissed as crazy a long, long time ago. EMP Theory.
I remember fandom jokingly discussing the possibility of the whole episode of the S4 taking place in the mind palace after TAB and the Tie Hell. I thought âNah. Mofftiss wouldnât spend another whole episode on showing us the inside workings of Sherlock phycheâ. I didnât like EMP theory because I didnât see the value in going deeper into Sherlockâs mind.
After TAB my fandom days went as before: slow hiatus mode on. Metas about TAB and TJLC, fanart, fanfiction and an occasional EMP post in the background. I even saw the one about that reversed pulse monitor and thought it was interesting, but still didnât consider EMP theory important or relevant.
Oh, how relevant it has became now, when The Lost Special hasnât happened! EMP has something that proves that it was planned since TRF, and that gives Mofftiss the chance to get away with the mess of S4.
So here you go, friends. The Lost Special didnât happen and Iâm glad it didnât. EMP is a simpler solution and it gives TPTB the chance to tie up all the lose ends of the series. Iâm in peace now, because TJLC is safe.
I still donât quite agree that we needed a whole season inside Sherlockâs head, but I canât argue that we didnât need TST or TLD or TFP, so thatâs not the point.
EMP does potentially save Johnlock, but leaving casuals (and us) with the sour taste of S4 for 2 or 3 years will kill enthusiasm for the show.

This is to all the people who somehow donât understand why we are mad at mofftiss.
I see a lot of posts since S4 aired saying that we shouldnât be mad at them just because they didnât make our ship canon.
So to all the people out there who say stuff like that, you are totally missing the point. Itâs not about the fact that Johnlock didnât become canon, itâs about the representation in Media they promised us since âA study in Pinkâ.
Which leds me to the second point people seem to love to bring up which is that we couldnât blame the writers just because we read something into subtext that isnât there.
Well, maybe there never was anything going on between John and Sherlock. Maybe we actually read to much into that, but as I stated above they did promise as representation and they totally implied all the time that Sherlock is gay.
I wonât list all the scenes that proof my point. Just let me tell you this. My mum is 50 years old, doesnât even know what LGBTQ is and I never told her about Johnlock, because I know she wouldnât care at all. However after we watched the first episode together she just naturally assumed that Sherlockâs gay. I know this because two days later when I told her about The Imitaion Game, she said that BC is pretty good in playing gay characters and when I looked surprised, because the only thing she ever watched with him was that one Sherlock Episode she litterally said. âWell, Sherlock. Heâs gay, isnât he ?â
So yeah that much about âsubtleâ and âsubtext that isnât really thereâ
I personally couldnât care less if they make Johnlock canon or not when at least they would have offically stated in the show that Sherlock is gay.
Iâm not trying to defend these people who hated at mofftiss that was wrong and you shouldnât do that. But all those people who hate on Tjlc, because we are mad, disapointed or leave the fandom or whatever havenât seen what happened in the community in the night after TFP aired. People were crying, I was cying, there were lists with suicide hotlines, and everyone just tried to comfort each other, because they litterally said to our faces, that who we are doesnât matter.
So this is not just about Johnlock not becoming canon.
I was queerbaited and that's why I'm mad at the showrunners.
When I watched ep1 I immediately recognized Sherlock was gay and John was a man coming to terms with his first same-sex attraction. I didn't know anything about the show going in, and I'd never even heard of shipping; what kept me interested was this developing LGBT storyline and that ended up being a manipulative trick. That's why am angry.
I think I may have found the only other person on the planet who hates sherlock as much as I do
bless this
Iâm only 5 minutes in and Iâm CRYING
Well well well, who wouldâve thought Iâd find myself watching a 2 hour video dragging what was once my favourite show and actually genuinely and unironically enjoying the hell out of it. But itâs funny âcause itâs true you know. Where was this about a year ago when I needed it?!
While watching this I realized that if you take the Sherlock/John sexual tension out of S1-TAB, the episodes don't really hold up. Hence the train wreck that was S4.
