Basically it's about this human kid, Iruma, who has shitty parents that sell him to a demon. But instead of being a horrible human-eating demon, this demon actually just wants a grandson!!!

So Iruma gets adopted, gets sent to school, and is trying to get through life while trying his bestest to hide his human identity. In the process, he befriends many demons and forms a Found Family™ (the good shit) with his new friends and they all go into various wholesome adventures.

It's such a cute and wholesome and fluffy manga that im just screaming for others to join me. Join me pleaseeee

Seriously, imo it has one of the best classes in manga. The kids are well-defined and characterized and given their own respective spotlights. The lack of drama inside the class is actually a great part of making them enjoyable because yes, while they're misfits and they're flawed in their own ways, they're not unrealistically jackasses. They start out as being ambivalent of the whole thing but then eventually come together and help each other bring themselves out of the bottom of the social ladder where they were just left. What's fun is also how it doesn't revolve around the main character. They all have their own friend groups and have their own interactions outside of the protagonist, which makes it even more realistic that they're friends.

The best part about this class is really how they all care for each so fucking much.

I could rant about more on the good stuff of iruma-kun such as

how it uses commonly negative themes and portrays it in a positive light as long as its not in excess (themes such as ambition, selfishness, keeping secrets if needed, etc.),

how it just portrays platonic relationships in a really good manner (the main trio's relationship is mainly platonic yet is never depicted as less than the possible romantic subplot but rather just another relationship of the mc),

how said romance subplot is fucking fluffy and wholesome without needless drama between the different love interests (hell the hinted love interests of the mcs are friends and they have girl group talks from time to time, with all of them shown to enjoy each other's company)

how said love interests are actually not just love interests but rather their own characters (ameri is a strong demon who leads the student council and keeps the peace in school. she's authoritative, strong both mentally and physically, widely respected by others and yet also has a cutesy hopeless romantic side brought out by her being a curious person)

the classmates themselves are also defined in their own ways (sabro was a typical rival character but then eventually humbles himself through experiences and basically becomes Class Himbo™; jazz is a sneaky mischievous thief but then also wants to be the best big brother he can to younger siblings (which is then the class) because of his own experience with siblings; leid was a loner who didn't connect much with people but then eventually found fun and meaningful bonds with the others; purson was someone who always felt like he could only do the duty that was meant for him since birth even at the cost of his own personal passion and social life but then eventually finds a way to chase his dreams, etc.)

the adults are also great characters, with the highlight being kalego, their homeroom teacher. kalego is strict, sadistic, petty and basically like severus snape. but unlike snape, he's a fair person. even if he doesn't like it, to be fair, he will do it. he pays attention to all of his students and take his job seriously. he literally has entire notebooks written with notes on his students, taking note of their strengths and weaknesses and what he could help them with. he's done with everyone's shit but he cares for them

the Found Family™ in it. its too powerful.

It's honestly probably the manga i consistently keep up with because every new chapter brings a smile to my face and makes my day better. While dark and angsty manga are my preferences... sometimes, i just want a light, fluffy feeling, yknow?

The characters, their relationships, and just how healthy most of their relationships are... it's so fucking good to read after all the drama and pain from other manga.

Anyway I LOVE Iruma-kun. I know this ramble is basically incoherent and doesn't make much sense but, i love this fucking manga so much. It's a manga close to my heart and the anime is such a really good adaptation I don't even know what we did to deserve it.
