go watch Masters of the Universe PLEASE oh my god. You don't need to have previous experience with He-Man to watch it. I didn't and I loved it. Whoever's talking shit about it online is a liar. It's funny. The action sequences are BADASS. Adam is hot as fuck. Like that man is thicker than Chris Hemsworth's Thor. He could crush your skull like a watermelon with his biceps OR his thighs. Oh my god his thighs. The skirt and loincloth. The dramatic blonde curtain bangs. The midriff showing off the thickass six-pack. Nicholas Galitzine is a BRICKSHIT HOUSE. not to mention Jared Leto finally found the one role he's good at. His voice acting is dramatic and theatrical and goofy AND intimidating and menacing and powerful. All the side characters were great. The costumes were awesome. The VFX looked beautiful. Adam was beautiful. The amount of pathetic whumpy sounds he made had my fanfic writer heart POUNDING. they made him a cringefail wet cat himbo and every second was glorious. He got to mow through a crowd of npcs like a shounen protagonist. He beat the shit out of Skeletor with his bare fists.
It's not the end-all be-all of films, and that's okay because it wasn't meant to be in the first place. It's silly and goofy and hype af. It's a lighthearted good time with some genuinely good moral reflection sprinkled in. If nothing else please just watch it for the sexual crisis He-Man himself will give you
(within the end credits there are multiple extra scenes that pay homage to the og so stick around!)
run to watch that fucking he man movie.
no seriously, as a motu fan, it was exciting, fun, VERY fun, and met my expectations perfectly .
it's silly, VERY SILLY , but come on it's fucking he man. if u like motu just go watch it 'k? thanks.
and STAY for the credits , just stay. ikyk..

I have to cut them down
Was looking forward to new MOTU movie and it didn’t disappoint.
Great music, great acting (nick is excellent), fun movie that acknowledged the brand’s history and lore but wasn’t afraid to buck the status quo when it served a purpose.
My thoughts/stuff i like *spoilers*:
- you’d think they start adam on earth - but they didnt! By not having adam having to remember stuff, and not over-explain movie logic at the start i thought was smart, and they could just focus on who adam was.
- enjoyed all the homage and references, and my fave bit was ‘they’re called that because thats what little adam calls them’ - hilarious.
- i can’t believe they did that to moss man. Meanwhile ‘dion’ (?) survives the movie. Did she do sy-clone’s bit there at the end?
- roboto being a girl caught me by surprise, but i can see towards the end why’d they do that. Idris got to do a lot with the character, stuff you dont see because he’s usually so stoic.
- the other MOTUs were pretty good and got decent screen time. I’m trying to think of some other masters I’d rather see than the ones from the old live action movie, but overall the movie did them justice.
- on he-man and skeletor themselves, they were perfect. He-man embodies everything from the cartoon/mini comics and more - that he can be funny/goofy, heroic/strong, that its ok to be vulnerable and that strength comes with in. And skeletor was just the right balance of campy and menacing. Really great voice work by leto.
- miscellaneous stuff: movie wasn’t stingy with the extras (orko, she-ra). we got to see more cartoon accurate costumes at the end (teela looks great and i hope that version gets a toy). Wish we saw more of eternia but what we saw looked good, i especially liked the forest. Love the music, totally got me in my feels.
We’ll see if the movie is good enough to get a sequel or spin off but looking forward to rewatching this on streaming service.
