"Dinner's ready!" You heard James yell from the kitchen as you and Gehlee scramble to your feet. You were the last to get up from the bed, then ran your fingers through your hair and realized your claw clip was missing.
"Come on, Y/N!" Gehlee called out from behind you, "Yeah, go on, I just need to find something," you told her before she hummed in acknowledgement and left.
"Shucks," you muttered as you turned around to spread your hands on James' bed in search of your claw clip. You lift the bedsheets and pillows, yet find nothing. You sigh, exasperated, before you turn around and spot Juhoon in the doorway.
And to your rotten luck, he was holding your black, butterfly-carved plastic clip. Anger rose from the depths of your subconscious before you sent him a raised eyebrow,
"We kept calling you-" he started, and before you could let him finish, you grabbed the clip from his hands, "I'm going," you grumbled to him before scooping all of your hair up to clip it up as you walked into the living room.
You could sense him follow behind you as you sat between Keonho and Gehlee on James' couch, whilst Martin, James, Seonghyeon, and Juhoon were left to gather on the floor, surrounding the coffee table with all the noodles on seven bowls, bottles of soy sauce and chili sauce, and a serving of kimchi for them to share.
"Sorry, guys, space is a bit cramped," James said as he passed bowls of noodles to each teenager. You laughed as you grabbed yours from him, "I don't know if you could even call this place a dorm, it's pretty huge," you told him before he scoffed at you, "Please, don't flatter me," he huffed before giving the last bowl to Juhoon and settling down beside him.
His "dorm" was almost as big as your apartment, and you originally had thought that he shared the whole thing with others before you absorbed the fact that the place was all neat and organized, and all of the psychology books lying around the home were more than enough proof that he lived all by himself.
"Yum," Keonho mumbled, eyes wide as saucers as he dug into his food. You looked to your left, and Gehlee was already halfway through her bowl. "Jesus, guys, slow down," you told them as Martin chuckled from below you, his back resting against Gehlee's knee and yours.
"This is precisely why you and Juhoon thought well enough not to invite them to your little buldak date because those two are fucking animals..." Martin teased, mouth half-full of buldak.
You ignored the faint hurt that flashed through you at the memory.
Gehlee kicked his back softly in defiance as Seonghyeon grinned after swallowing his food. You mixed your noodles with the kimchi placed on top, before taking a bite using your chopsticks.
You let the savoury, spicy, and sour taste settle on your tongue before you hummed in thought.
"What's wrong, Y/N?" Juhoon asked you without looking,
You ignored him before poking Martin's head, "Pass me the chili oil, please," you instructed before he rubbed his head as if it hurt, "You could've just said so..." he muttered before doing so.
You opened the lid and poured a generous amount before passing it back to Martin, and he placed it back on the table.
A few bites in, Keonho and Gehlee were already finished, their bowls and utensils on the sink, and they both huddled beside each other to try and plan out who gets to build which part of the lego set that they were about to build by looking at the instructions.
You huffed before you looked over at the table, eyeing the kimchi and wondering if you still had the courage inside of you to ask anyone to pass the bowl of kimchi so that you'd be finally satisfied.
But before you could open your mouth, Juhoon already grabbed it and passed it to you. All that, without even looking at you.
The annoyance brought heat to your neck and cheeks faster than all of the spice combined in your meal, as you spitefully fed yourself after providing your bowl with more kimchi.
"How can you even handle all of that spice?" Keonho asked with a horrified look, as you licked your lips after you finished. "I just like it spicy," you told him as you stood up, observing the boys who ate at the floor with crossed legs. And out of habit, you took off your claw clip and threw it on the couch carelessly.
"James, let me put that away," you offered politely as James nodded, giving his empty bowl to you, while Martin, Juhoon, and Seonghyeon did the same, murmuring their gratitude towards you as their bowls stacked on top of yours.
You put all of the dishes in the sink before turning around to look at Gehlee, Keonho, and Seonghyeon already making a small corner for their lego-building activity. James was busy putting the kimchi back inside the fridge, and Martin and Juhoon were busy setting up the foldable couch as a bed.
You watched in awe as both boys stretched out the couch into the size of a double bed in a matter of seconds, "That was foldable all along?!" you exclaimed in disbelief as James chuckled beside you, setting down one bottle of soju on the counter, along with three shot glasses.
"Ooh-"
"Y/N-"
You groaned at the sound of Juhoon's voice from the furthest part of the room, "God, you're so insufferable, just leave me alone!" You complained, glaring right through Juhoon's seemingly indifferent gaze, while James poured the liquor into the shot glasses.
"Yeah, Juhoon, she's a big girl; she can handle her stuff," Gehlee exclaimed from the other corner by the foldable bed, sitting with Keonho and Seonghyeon in front of a pile of lego bricks.
Martin's blonde head cocked to the side, eyebrows raised in surprise, "You've drank before?" he asked. "I've tried gin before," you admitted to them with a shrug, averting your James frowned at you in disbelief.
"They spend christmas with us sometimes, my mom and dad always invite me to drink during the holidays. It's a filipino thing, they don't like it when we do it under their noses, so they just kinda let us do it when they're around," Gehlee explained in a monotone voice as she continued to discuss with the two boys about their activity.
James chuckled, then looked at Juhoon pointedly. "Well, now you don't have anything to worry about, lover boy, she'll be okay," he teased with a mischievous smile as he rolled his eyes at him.
You let yourself drink as much as you were inclined to, and throughout the night, James was tipsy, and somehow Keonho got a few shots with you, and somewhere along the way, while building the third minion of the 'Despicable Me' lego set, he passed out on the foldable couch.
That was when James decided to call it a night for everyone, pulling out his own mattress from his own bed in his room, squeezing it inside the now crowded living room.
You and Gehlee took James' mattress as per his demand, and beside you chronologically were Keonho, Seonghyeon, Martin, and Juhoon. Your tipsy self with your best friend cackled at the sight of their feet sticking out of the couch as you all snuggled into bed, with only the counter lights as the night lamp, you all murmured your good nights to each other, and soon enough, you heard some snores.
You had an inkling that you were drunk, and surely you should've known by the way your face swelled with red, how many times you've sent a swear, a death threat, or an insult in Juhoon's way in a slurred voice.
But alas, your instincts were right, because in no way would a sober person have such a headache after drinking as much as you did. No matter how much you snuggled close to Gehlee, no matter how much you tossed and turned, it just wouldn't go away.
You were sure the sun was starting to peak over the earth when you were finally falling asleep, the pain still buzzing in your head, you felt your stomach curdle and threaten to spill. You felt the saliva start to build up that nauseous feeling inside of your mouth, which compelled you to throw off the blankets aside, wriggling out of Gehlee's grasp.
You got up, lightning fast, and headed straight to the bathroom, slamming it open, and you crouched in front of the toilet and puked.
Mid-puke, you felt someone's fingertips against your neck, scooping all of your hair back, including the strands that were stained from vomit, as you coughed and gagged out the remaining bad elements.
At first, you thought it was Gehlee's hands.
"It's okay, it's just me."
And it wasn't.
The universe wasn't with you today, and you cursed it for that.
The smell of your own vomit, with its undertones of digested soju and Juhoon, of all people, seeing you like this, embarrassed you into a whole other level of mortification that even you didn't know how to name.
He patted your back, "Leave me-" you clutched the toilet seat and let out some more vomit.
After a few more minutes, your nausea left you with the terrible headache back in full painful frequency, and you were panting against the walls of the bathroom, as Juhoon left you for a while to grab a glass of water.
He returned, crouching next to you and offering you the glass. You reluctantly accepted it and took a tiny sip.
This was the first time in the whole sleepover that the both of you actually looked each other in the eyes. You were glaring at him, and as expected, you couldn't even tell if he was upset with you at the moment or not. And you hated yourself for still finding him attractive, after everything that he's done to you.
"I warned you," he said, hugging his knees across you. You rolled your eyes, "Yeah, and where did you get that feeling? Don't you dare pull that hypocritical "I don't believe in gut feelings-"
"No, because I know you," Juhoon interjected calmly, "You always get ahead of new things. I should know because you just jump into things that aren't exactly a solid plan." You scoffed at his words, rolling your eyes.
Juhoon let out a soft exhale, and you could tell how hard he was holding back his words by the way his jaw clenched.
"You're so stupid," you muttered weakly, "I actually liked you, I thought we were fine, but then- then you ruin things like that, and you don't even seem guilty about it," you mumbled, not sure if you're making sense at the moment.
Juhoon seemed to listen to you by the way his gaze softened. "You like me?" he said, clueless to the fact.
You scoffed as you held the toilet for support, standing on your wobbly feet. "Well, not anymore, are you crazy? After you pull that bullshit?" you exclaimed at him in a slurred tone.
He tried to assist you by grabbing your arm, but you shook him away. He let out a frustrated sigh and frowned at you, his face trying to reason with yours.
"Y/N- you know I-"
You groaned in annoyance, "Well, I don't know what I know, Juhoon! One moment, I'm the great witch, a friend, a person who holds your hands, guides your fucking heartbeat, pulls the tarot cards, and says whatever you want to hear, and then the next I'm the one who's fucking crazy for caring about how much of a closed-off, isolated person you are?" You yelled at him, all in one breath, before you exited the bathroom without waiting for a response from him.
Leaving it to him and the universe's mercy on how this whole friendship will play out.

What cabins do you think the CORTIS members are in?
ILY FOR ASKING THIS TWIN. okay so I actually have five fics about the CORTIS members in pjo au so I already have everyone down to a tee ๐
PJO AU
James
- Child of Nike.
NOW HERE ME OUT. This man has been on the grind with those choreographies, and he's a sporty guy too. And let's not forget he's a very diligent & driven guy.. so like... Yeah. Nike!
Martin
- Child of Apollo.
We all saw this shit coming bruh ๐ญ๐ Martin's ability to compose, rap, sing, EVERYTHING is absolutely insane, he fits Cabin 7 greatly. He should be glad he wasn't at camp during the whole Kronos thing though cause he'd probably be dead lmfao
Juhoon
- Child of Hermes.
Okay guys.. hear me out. Hermes is also known the God of Communication.. right. Juhoon can do that perfectly, hell he was even a translator for that soccer thing before right?? Hermes is also the God that has SO MANY domains. Kinda like how Juhoon knows how to do basically everything ๐ญ๐
BUT
Juhoon also fits as a child of Iris, same thing as the communication thingโ but also because Iris has depictions that she's a peaceful, chill person. Juhoon IS literally a chill guy. Juhoon can be a bit.. chaotic though so that's why I mainly put him in the Hermes cabin.
Seonghyeon
- Child of Hecate.
Quiet, and a genius, I feel like he'd shit this cabin a whole lot. So yknow how Hecate children can also manipulate mist? I feel like he's smart enough to even incorporate music into magic wielding.
Keonho.
- Child Of Poseidon.
That man is of the water and he lives in it bruh ๐๐ my guy can't be anything but THIS. Keonho is absolutely amazing in the water so it would make sense he's in cabin three. Hell he probably races Percy every now and then in swimming ๐ญ

After an excruciatingly long session of cooking and eating buldak ramen, Juhoon didn't dare do much but stare around your living room as he sat on the black couch.
Their apartment was small, and while their place offered a minimalistic yet modern design, he couldn't help but notice the strange ways in which the Uchinaga siblings integrate their way of life into their home. For instance, the dreamcatcher that presented itself at their door, then a calendar with moon phases for everyday welcomed him as he took his shoes off before stepping inside the living room.
And right now, Juhoon was staring at a strange assortment of crystals on the side table next to the couch. It was fascinating to him because it wasn't the usual palm-sized crystals you had; the ones on the silver tray were large and authentic-looking.
"Are these real?" he asked, voice filled with skepticism. You slurp the rest of your noodles and nod whilst chewing, "Mhm, those are my sister's, she keeps them here so that every time guests get in, they're automatically comfortable," you replied before you stood up and discarded your empty cup into the trash and your chopsticks on the sink,
"Well, won't you explain how it technically works?" Juhoon asked again as you sat beside him once more, "It works differently for others, my sister's friends who had sores before coming here instantly become relieved, Gehlee easily falls asleep on the couch, and I become more talkative," you told him patiently,
"Maybe in your case, you're extra curious because you're not thinking of how I'd feel if you'd ask more questions," you went on as Juhoon frowned, "How would you even know that?" he muttered unenthusiastically.
You rolled your eyes as you slapped his knee gently, "Okay, let's go to my room, we need to get started," you said before you walked to the sink. "Uh... why the sink?" he cluelessly asked, and the question was left dangling for minutes as he watched you wash your hands. "Just wash your hands," you insisted fiercely as you wiped your wet hands on your pajama pants.
After Juhoon hesitantly washed his hands, he followed you to your bedroom. And it was to this moment that Juhoon reflected and realized that this was his first time in a girl's bedroom.
He tried not to go red at that thought.
Once you pushed open your bedroom door, the smell of vanilla and white sage wafted into Juhoon's nostrils, making him wrinkle his nose a bit. "Sorry about the smell," you meekly apologized as you stepped aside to let him in as he shook his head,
"No, it's okay, I'm just not used to it," he replied.
Your room wasn't extravagant by any means; a single twin bed sat in the corner of the room, a blue blanket and a few stuffed toys sat neatly on the mattress, and right beside the bedframe was a bedside table holding an assortment of crystals on a silver tray.
You had a desk beside the door, where all your study materials, laptop, and incense holder sat, and next to it, a three-level shelf holding different kinds of decor, and a tall dresser beside it. Or at least Juhoon assumed it was decor on the shelves.
There wasn't any artificial light spilling into the room except for the sunlight from the huge windows taking up almost the entire wall to the right.
As soon as Juhoon sat on your bed, you quickly shut the door and sighed heavily, "Okay, at any time would you freak out? I'm kicking you out immediately." You made the assertion with such force that it made Juhoon sit up straight. "I know," he said with a nod. "I'm not gonna freak out, I swear," he promised with a small smile.
You nodded in acknowledgement as you walked to your desk, pulling the drawer beneath it to retrieve a bedazzled purple lighter to light the incense before snuffing out the tiny flame at its tip. Juhoon watched carefully as the incense's thin smoke snaked upwards and the smell of white sage became more prominent.
"Stand up," you told him as he reluctantly did so, approaching you. You smiled at him, "I'm just gonna cleanse all the bad energy, so just relax, okay?" you told him as he blinked at you multiple times, unsure whether or not to question you or to stay silent.
You pick up the incense stick and face him with a small smile, "Today, we're just going to manifest and talk to the spirit guides for help," you told him as you swirled the incense around his head thrice, the trail of smoke cascading around him as he watched you with tense shoulders.
"Spirit.. guides?"
"Yep, it's just kinda like praying, but we have to cleanse before starting 'cus we don't want to tamper our manifestations with our own dirt,"
Juhoon raised a brow as you traced his arms, dragging the incense back and forth on both sides, the smoke trickling against his skin, "What do you mean dirt?" he asked quietly,
"From the moment we wake up, we're instantly carrying bad energy or at least we're prone to absorbing it, and throughout our day it manifests in bad thoughts, negative feelings, feeling exhaustion, and whatnot," you explained to him. "Cleansing before praying is just manners and etiquette, kinda like how you have to bow at the altar after receiving communion," you say before giving the stick to Juhoon.
"If you don't mind?" you requested with a raised eyebrow.
Juhoon took the incense stick and did the same: circles around your head thrice and thrice on each side of your arms.
"Observant, huh?" you teased with a smile as you gently slapped his arm. Juhoon narrowed his eyes at you, "Shut up," he murmured before rubbing the spot where you slapped him, retrieving the incense stick to place it back on its holder.
Then he watched you grab your lighter once again, crouching on the floor in front of the shelves to light the candles on the second shelf. He approached the shelves and realized that the second shelf was decorated with a miniature statue of a sort, maybe a goddess, and surrounding her were pink plastic roses and a silver tray in front of it. At the sides were also littered candles in tins that had taped labels on; two vanilla-scented ones to the right and two rose-scented ones to the left.
All were lit, and before Juhoon could avert his attention to you, the room went dark after the sounds of the window blinds shutting.
Juhoon couldn't see anything except for the silhouette of your hand grabbing the candles, your other hand pressing on his shoulder, "Sit down," you told him in a soft voice. He sat down blindly, crossing his legs as he squinted his eyes at your candle-lit figure while you set two of the candles now in front of him.
"Wha-"
"Now, we meditate," you told him quietly as Juhoon's jaw went slack, "Oh no, Y/N, I can't even-"
Before Juhoon could protest more, you placed your index finger on his lips defiantly. "You don't think Juhoon, you do," you told him as you sat across from him.
In the dim room, Juhoon couldn't help but fall silent, and it wasn't just because of your instruction, but he couldn't help but notice the candles on the floor lighting up your silhouette and ultimately making him see you in another light.
The yellowish flames illuminate the curve of your jaw, the tenderness of your lips, and the enthusiasm glinting in your eyes.
It was mesmerizing, and Juhoon never wanted to admit that out loud.
"Just breathe," you told him in that soft, sweet voice of yours. His heartbeat spiked the moment he felt your soft hands grab his as your thumbs rubbed on his palm soothingly.
Juhoon didn't even realize how long he held his breath until he let out a long exhale. "In," you instructed as Juhoon inhaled through his nose, "Out," you said before he let out another staggering breath, still trying to maintain his heartbeat.
He could see your lips stretch out into a smile as you let go of one of his hands to press your palm flat on his chest, right where his heart should be located. He internally cussed himself at how quick his heart raced as soon as you touched him.
But instead of berating him, you pressed your hand further on his chest and guided his breathing through looking into his eyes and setting an example of breathing a pattern of inhale and exhale.
"We need to relax and put our emotions aside to not let anything interfere with our intentions as we go," You whisper quietly. Juhoon nodded obediently and shifted on the floor, getting comfortable.
As seconds stretched to minutes, Juhoon found it increasingly harder to maintain a calm breath as his eyes continued to dart all over your features, with what the candles illuminated from underneath you.
You noticed this and stifled a small laugh, "It's okay, you can close your eyes, if it helps," you suggested as Juhoon exhaled through his nose, exasperatedly, and closed his eyes.
"Do you do this all the time?" he asked in a whisper,
"Yes, it helps me organize my thoughts,"
A few moments later, yet your hand hasn't left his own. "You're still distracted, am I distracting you?" you asked, your voice frantic. Juhoon's eyes shot open as he raised a brow at you, "How are you doing that?" he hissed, horrified and confused all the same. You rolled your eyes, "I'm getting sick of those kinds of questions. Can you please just focus?" you pleaded desperately as he let out a huff and shut his eyes forcefully.
"Why don't you talk about Jiyeon?" you suggested, carefully.
Juhoon's breath hitched at the mention of her, then he shook his head and sighed, "I can try," he admitted weakly. "Our parents are both doctors, so most of the time, we'd only have each other." Juhoon spoke in a whisper-like voice.
"They were strict and shit like we didn't have a full bar of chocolate until I was eight, and ever since then she'd steal pocket money from dad's wallet to buy me chocolate 'cause since then I've been a sweet tooth," You listened to him smile as his eyes remained shut. "One time, Jiyeon accidentally bought me dark chocolate instead of the milk ones, I ate it all to make her happy, 'cause I know she's easily sulky and-" his rambling suddenly slowed into a halt, a soft expression on his face.
"I don't know, she was a very whimsical person... kinda reminds me of you a bit, but that's creepy," Juhoon joked with a soft laugh as you giggled, "No, I see my mom in my English teachers a lot so it's not creepy," you supplied as he snorted from trying to contain his own laughter.
You tugged at his hand and clicked your tongue at the sight of his white teeth in a grin, "Hey!" you whined as he shook his head and straightened his posture, "Okay, okay! I'll focus on breathing now," he fussed as he let out a long sigh, before grasping your hand once more
He then began to draw in slow breaths and equally slow exhales. Soon enough, his heartbeat calmed down, and everything fell into place: the silence, the warmth against his hand, and the resentment he had felt toward you before slowly melted.
In the darkness of your room, Juhoon's soul had been touched. In ways that he didn't expect.
