"Dinner's ready!" You heard James yell from the kitchen as you and Gehlee scramble to your feet. You were the last to get up from the bed, then ran your fingers through your hair and realized your claw clip was missing.
"Come on, Y/N!" Gehlee called out from behind you, "Yeah, go on, I just need to find something," you told her before she hummed in acknowledgement and left.
"Shucks," you muttered as you turned around to spread your hands on James' bed in search of your claw clip. You lift the bedsheets and pillows, yet find nothing. You sigh, exasperated, before you turn around and spot Juhoon in the doorway.
And to your rotten luck, he was holding your black, butterfly-carved plastic clip. Anger rose from the depths of your subconscious before you sent him a raised eyebrow,
"We kept calling you-" he started, and before you could let him finish, you grabbed the clip from his hands, "I'm going," you grumbled to him before scooping all of your hair up to clip it up as you walked into the living room.
You could sense him follow behind you as you sat between Keonho and Gehlee on James' couch, whilst Martin, James, Seonghyeon, and Juhoon were left to gather on the floor, surrounding the coffee table with all the noodles on seven bowls, bottles of soy sauce and chili sauce, and a serving of kimchi for them to share.
"Sorry, guys, space is a bit cramped," James said as he passed bowls of noodles to each teenager. You laughed as you grabbed yours from him, "I don't know if you could even call this place a dorm, it's pretty huge," you told him before he scoffed at you, "Please, don't flatter me," he huffed before giving the last bowl to Juhoon and settling down beside him.
His "dorm" was almost as big as your apartment, and you originally had thought that he shared the whole thing with others before you absorbed the fact that the place was all neat and organized, and all of the psychology books lying around the home were more than enough proof that he lived all by himself.
"Yum," Keonho mumbled, eyes wide as saucers as he dug into his food. You looked to your left, and Gehlee was already halfway through her bowl. "Jesus, guys, slow down," you told them as Martin chuckled from below you, his back resting against Gehlee's knee and yours.
"This is precisely why you and Juhoon thought well enough not to invite them to your little buldak date because those two are fucking animals..." Martin teased, mouth half-full of buldak.
You ignored the faint hurt that flashed through you at the memory.
Gehlee kicked his back softly in defiance as Seonghyeon grinned after swallowing his food. You mixed your noodles with the kimchi placed on top, before taking a bite using your chopsticks.
You let the savoury, spicy, and sour taste settle on your tongue before you hummed in thought.
"What's wrong, Y/N?" Juhoon asked you without looking,
You ignored him before poking Martin's head, "Pass me the chili oil, please," you instructed before he rubbed his head as if it hurt, "You could've just said so..." he muttered before doing so.
You opened the lid and poured a generous amount before passing it back to Martin, and he placed it back on the table.
A few bites in, Keonho and Gehlee were already finished, their bowls and utensils on the sink, and they both huddled beside each other to try and plan out who gets to build which part of the lego set that they were about to build by looking at the instructions.
You huffed before you looked over at the table, eyeing the kimchi and wondering if you still had the courage inside of you to ask anyone to pass the bowl of kimchi so that you'd be finally satisfied.
But before you could open your mouth, Juhoon already grabbed it and passed it to you. All that, without even looking at you.
The annoyance brought heat to your neck and cheeks faster than all of the spice combined in your meal, as you spitefully fed yourself after providing your bowl with more kimchi.
"How can you even handle all of that spice?" Keonho asked with a horrified look, as you licked your lips after you finished. "I just like it spicy," you told him as you stood up, observing the boys who ate at the floor with crossed legs. And out of habit, you took off your claw clip and threw it on the couch carelessly.
"James, let me put that away," you offered politely as James nodded, giving his empty bowl to you, while Martin, Juhoon, and Seonghyeon did the same, murmuring their gratitude towards you as their bowls stacked on top of yours.
You put all of the dishes in the sink before turning around to look at Gehlee, Keonho, and Seonghyeon already making a small corner for their lego-building activity. James was busy putting the kimchi back inside the fridge, and Martin and Juhoon were busy setting up the foldable couch as a bed.
You watched in awe as both boys stretched out the couch into the size of a double bed in a matter of seconds, "That was foldable all along?!" you exclaimed in disbelief as James chuckled beside you, setting down one bottle of soju on the counter, along with three shot glasses.
"Ooh-"
"Y/N-"
You groaned at the sound of Juhoon's voice from the furthest part of the room, "God, you're so insufferable, just leave me alone!" You complained, glaring right through Juhoon's seemingly indifferent gaze, while James poured the liquor into the shot glasses.
"Yeah, Juhoon, she's a big girl; she can handle her stuff," Gehlee exclaimed from the other corner by the foldable bed, sitting with Keonho and Seonghyeon in front of a pile of lego bricks.
Martin's blonde head cocked to the side, eyebrows raised in surprise, "You've drank before?" he asked. "I've tried gin before," you admitted to them with a shrug, averting your James frowned at you in disbelief.
"They spend christmas with us sometimes, my mom and dad always invite me to drink during the holidays. It's a filipino thing, they don't like it when we do it under their noses, so they just kinda let us do it when they're around," Gehlee explained in a monotone voice as she continued to discuss with the two boys about their activity.
James chuckled, then looked at Juhoon pointedly. "Well, now you don't have anything to worry about, lover boy, she'll be okay," he teased with a mischievous smile as he rolled his eyes at him.
You let yourself drink as much as you were inclined to, and throughout the night, James was tipsy, and somehow Keonho got a few shots with you, and somewhere along the way, while building the third minion of the 'Despicable Me' lego set, he passed out on the foldable couch.
That was when James decided to call it a night for everyone, pulling out his own mattress from his own bed in his room, squeezing it inside the now crowded living room.
You and Gehlee took James' mattress as per his demand, and beside you chronologically were Keonho, Seonghyeon, Martin, and Juhoon. Your tipsy self with your best friend cackled at the sight of their feet sticking out of the couch as you all snuggled into bed, with only the counter lights as the night lamp, you all murmured your good nights to each other, and soon enough, you heard some snores.
You had an inkling that you were drunk, and surely you should've known by the way your face swelled with red, how many times you've sent a swear, a death threat, or an insult in Juhoon's way in a slurred voice.
But alas, your instincts were right, because in no way would a sober person have such a headache after drinking as much as you did. No matter how much you snuggled close to Gehlee, no matter how much you tossed and turned, it just wouldn't go away.
You were sure the sun was starting to peak over the earth when you were finally falling asleep, the pain still buzzing in your head, you felt your stomach curdle and threaten to spill. You felt the saliva start to build up that nauseous feeling inside of your mouth, which compelled you to throw off the blankets aside, wriggling out of Gehlee's grasp.
You got up, lightning fast, and headed straight to the bathroom, slamming it open, and you crouched in front of the toilet and puked.
Mid-puke, you felt someone's fingertips against your neck, scooping all of your hair back, including the strands that were stained from vomit, as you coughed and gagged out the remaining bad elements.
At first, you thought it was Gehlee's hands.
"It's okay, it's just me."
And it wasn't.
The universe wasn't with you today, and you cursed it for that.
The smell of your own vomit, with its undertones of digested soju and Juhoon, of all people, seeing you like this, embarrassed you into a whole other level of mortification that even you didn't know how to name.
He patted your back, "Leave me-" you clutched the toilet seat and let out some more vomit.
After a few more minutes, your nausea left you with the terrible headache back in full painful frequency, and you were panting against the walls of the bathroom, as Juhoon left you for a while to grab a glass of water.
He returned, crouching next to you and offering you the glass. You reluctantly accepted it and took a tiny sip.
This was the first time in the whole sleepover that the both of you actually looked each other in the eyes. You were glaring at him, and as expected, you couldn't even tell if he was upset with you at the moment or not. And you hated yourself for still finding him attractive, after everything that he's done to you.
"I warned you," he said, hugging his knees across you. You rolled your eyes, "Yeah, and where did you get that feeling? Don't you dare pull that hypocritical "I don't believe in gut feelings-"
"No, because I know you," Juhoon interjected calmly, "You always get ahead of new things. I should know because you just jump into things that aren't exactly a solid plan." You scoffed at his words, rolling your eyes.
Juhoon let out a soft exhale, and you could tell how hard he was holding back his words by the way his jaw clenched.
"You're so stupid," you muttered weakly, "I actually liked you, I thought we were fine, but then- then you ruin things like that, and you don't even seem guilty about it," you mumbled, not sure if you're making sense at the moment.
Juhoon seemed to listen to you by the way his gaze softened. "You like me?" he said, clueless to the fact.
You scoffed as you held the toilet for support, standing on your wobbly feet. "Well, not anymore, are you crazy? After you pull that bullshit?" you exclaimed at him in a slurred tone.
He tried to assist you by grabbing your arm, but you shook him away. He let out a frustrated sigh and frowned at you, his face trying to reason with yours.
"Y/N- you know I-"
You groaned in annoyance, "Well, I don't know what I know, Juhoon! One moment, I'm the great witch, a friend, a person who holds your hands, guides your fucking heartbeat, pulls the tarot cards, and says whatever you want to hear, and then the next I'm the one who's fucking crazy for caring about how much of a closed-off, isolated person you are?" You yelled at him, all in one breath, before you exited the bathroom without waiting for a response from him.
Leaving it to him and the universe's mercy on how this whole friendship will play out.

Upon countless arguments once classes ended, the four boys agreed to settle on a tiny restaurant near their school, where Keonho described their sampgyupsal as phenomenal. And per Seonghyeon's request, go to an acai place right after.
Once he fully processed your message, Juhoon's feet remained planted on the pavement as his friends moved on without him. He frowned at the message again and shook his head to read through it another time.
Surely, you didn't know?
How could you? Juhoon only officially met you this morning. He could feel his cheeks warm from embarrassment because you read right through him without even needing to spend several minutes with him. His brain couldn't work out anything, unless suddenly you were a hacker who could see all of his texts and everything he had said about you behind your back.
Juhoon was at his wits' end, wondering how on earth you would have formed that thought in your head.
Then a thought dawned on him. That may be the snitch was one of his very own friends.
"Juhoon? You good?" Martin asked over his shoulder while Seonghyeon and Keonho turned to him with questioning looks.
Juhoon shut his phone off and shoved it inside his pocket as he walked up to Martin's side, then nodded. "I'm okay," he told them. Keonho snorted, "Stop lying, man, we know you. What's up?" he asked, tone filled with playfulness, but Juhoon knew he meant it sincerely.
"Are any of you friends with Y/N?" he asks as they continue to walk on their way. Seonghyeon groaned, "Not this again!" he exclaimed with over-exaggerated frustration. "No, seriously!" Juhoon replied as he grabbed his phone from his pocket before showing them the text as they walked.
Keonho cackled joyously at his left as Seonghyeon giggled while Martin attempted to suppress his own laughter. Juhoon could feel his embarrassment from his ears as he groaned internally, "Guys, please! I'm serious," he whined before Keonho's laughter died down into a long and deep sigh.
"None of us are friends with Y/N, okay? We just come to her sometimes for her tarot stuff," he clarified as Martin nodded, "I wouldn't mind being friends with her though," he remarked as Juhoon's brows furrowed and his lips pursed into a sour look. "Seriously?" he huffed while Seonghyeon clicked his tongue.
"Dude, you're just mad that you got karma, and we warned you about this by the way," he told Juhoon with mock empathy as they finally reached the restaurant, Martin opening the door for the rest of the group to come in.
Juhoon followed close behind Martin with a scoff, "Yeah, sure, karma, her universe bullshit is what's causing my suffering here," he said sarcastically.
The samgyupsal restaurant was decorated with ads and popstar posters, while a counter sat directly in front of the entrance, the aroma of smoked meat surrounded them, despite the restaurant housing only two tables out of many that were occupied, as customers grilled meat on their respective appliances.
Juhoon didn't know how loud his voice was, but he was sure that the entire restaurant had heard his sarcastic remark.
Including you, wearing a black apron, hair tied back into a ponytail, notepad, and pen in hand. Juhoon's jaw fell slack as he instantly saw a glimpse of your disappointment fleet through your eyes before you smiled politely again, the same polite smile you gave him this morning.
"Welcome to Giselle's Grill, there's only four of you- right?"

Aside from drowning himself in every extracurricular and academic task that he could handle, Juhoon also appreciates sleep. It has never gone wrong for him, not once in his life. He's never had a single dream, and from countless horror stories from Seonghyeon about having strange dreams, he learned to appreciate his dreamless nights.
However, last night was the complete opposite. The dream starts with him being chased in an unknown place, with yellow walls, abrupt turns, and narrow hallways. He didn't know what was chasing him, and his dream self didn't bother to look because whatever it was, it was growling and practically hungry to catch him.
But no matter how fast he sprinted through the halls, it never seemed to catch him, yet it didn't give up either.
He was stuck in some sort of adrenaline state to keep him on his feet at all times.
If he was being honest, it looked stupidly similar to that of the many Roblox games he'd play with Keonho. And only then did that realization hit once he abruptly lifted himself up from his mattress, the sheets cascading down to his lap.
Once his heartbeat recovered from the nightmare, he picked up his phone from underneath his pillow. He gawked at the sight of the time and the numerous messages from his friends as he stumbled to the shower, tripping over himself attempting to untangle his blankets that coiled around his legs.
Thankfully, his parents were out like a light as he hurried out of the house, heart still pounding from the adrenaline of being late and his hair still damp from the shower. Juhoon had his backpack slung over his shoulders, gripping it tightly as he made his way to school at a semi-jog, semi-sprint pace.
Juhoon liked practicality, routine, and everything else that aligns with that. So anyone from a five-meter range from him could sense how much he hated being late. He was sure that his hair was sticking out in different directions, and he dreaded the feeling of his unevenly folded out collar against his neck.
Just then, his phone rang in his pocket, and as he sprinted, he picked up the call without even looking at the name. "Hello?" he said, panting slightly as he halted abruptly for the pedestrian crossing ahead.
Unfortunately, his speedy rush to school, followed by a sudden stop, resulted in him bumping into the nearest back in front of him.
You wobble in place to keep your balance so as not to fall over because of the sudden force behind you. A jolt of irritation sprang up as you turned around to meet eyes with the culprit.
"Could you watch where you're fucking going? You almost pushed me into oncoming traffic," you scolded him harshly. Juhoon's arm that held the phone to his ear loosened to his side as he nodded apologetically, "Sorry, I was-"
His apology was interrupted by your small gasp. "You!" Juhoon hesitantly looked from left to right, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. His hand pointed to himself as he raised an eyebrow at you, "Me?" he murmured cluelessly, phone call within his grasp completely forgotten.
Your eyes were wide with enthusiasm as your manicured finger pointed at the school logo on his uniform. "You're running late, too?" you asked excitedly. Juhoon frowned at your displaced excitement, "Yes, I am," he hissed under his breath.
"Well, that's okay. Things happen for a reason, it's how the universe works," you mention with a small smile. "Nice meeting you, Juhoon," you say politely, holding your hand out for him.
He narrowed his eyes at you for a moment before his gaze fell on your name tag on the blazer of your uniform. Juhoon's eyes widened at the name engraved on it.
By then, the pedestrian light glowed green, and Juhoon gave you a forced smile and used it as an excuse to evade your gesture of politeness to cross the road.
You stood for a moment, frozen in shock at his shameless attitude, before regaining your senses and following behind him.
You knew you were an oddball. Growing up without a parent but only an older sister as your role model made you a bit quirky, and you learned to accept yourself through the help of your noona Aeri- or more likely she preferred to be called Giselle.
She's always told you that you always come off as strong most of the time to strangers, and there's nothing wrong with that. So, in the result, you adapted to politeness, but even now, that seemed to be "too much" to some people.
People like Juhoon.
On the surface, you acted like you didn't care about his bluntness, because really, why should you? He's a complete stranger whom you just happen to share the same school with. But deep in your soul, you knew it bothered you because there was always some leech in your brain convincing you to make friends with anyone or everyone. After all, you didn't like being alone.
But Juhoon didn't know that, did he?
a/n: hello! sorry if there's grammar errors or anything of the sort im not used to writing in 2nd pov but regardless i hope u guys enjoyed reading! i tried blending their povs js for this chapter so that u guys have a bit of an idea what juhoon and yn r as individuals heheh
