Sometimes feature requests from clients can be quite eye-opening about their day-to-day needs. This was a feature I could add to Teamie LMS as its Product Manager only because I was listening to clients.

Problem: Administrators wanted a way to send automated reminders to specific types of users for specific kinds of event triggers.

Solution: I led the design & implementation of a reminder configuration page for administrators that let them choose the user role, how many days before they’d like to send the notification & the notification mode (web, mobile push notification or email)

Teachers using Teamie LMS created many assessments over a period of time, and felt the need to slot them into different categories. E.g: Term1 & Term2 or CA1 & CA2 or Theoretical, Practical, On-the-Job, etc.

As Product Manager, I listened to this need & led the design & development of the “Grading Component” feature.

The grading component feature on Teamie allowed instructors or administrators to create different grading components for their institute, or just for their classroom. Each grading component can have a weightage e.g. 30% of the final grade. Each assessment can be added to any one of the grading components. The score of the assessment will add up to the final score for the grading component. All grading components together add up to the final grade.

This video shows an interface I designed for teachers to categorise assessments into different grading components & quickly assign the percentage of final grade for each one.

Problem: Teachers needed a way to have a quick overview of which learning materials in a classroom have been completed by all students & which students are lagging behind.

Solution: I led the design & implementation of a learning progress feature that showed a quick summary of how many students in a classroom had completed a specific learning material. When teachers clicked on this pie chart a popup with a list of students who have completed & haven’t completed would appear. 

Problem: Some teachers wanted to enforce a specific sequence for students to consume content i.e. a student shouldn’t be able to go to Lesson 2 without completing Lesson 1. But not all teachers wanted this.

Solution: I led the design & implementation of a “Learning Progression” feature, which a teacher could turn on or off. When this feature was turned on students had to complete each lesson before moving on to the next one.

My focus as Teamie’s Product Manager was to ensure teachers spend as little time doing admin work on the platform as possible and spend more time teaching. I led the design & implementation of this feature that helped to save a lot of time!

Problem: At the beginning of an academic year, teachers want to copy learning materials from their previous year classrooms to the new ones.

Spearheaded design & development of ​Stories​, a sub-product of Teamie that enabled students to create personal portfolios to showcase their extra-curricular work

Studied & researched various portfolio creation tools in the market to identify opportunities

Organised user testing at various stages of design & development & incorporated client feedback

As Product Manager, worked closely with clients of Teamie to gather requirements for an admin dashboard that allows administrators to monitor usage of their learning management system by teachers and students. Worked together with design & development team to iterate through multiple mockups and finally implement & release the feature.

Led the design of Teamie’s “Rubric view” feature, a way for teachers to give rich & specific feedback on learning objectives to students.

Problem: Teachers & administrators who used Teamie LMS wanted insights into the engagement of students using the platform.

Solution: For each classroom, we gave teachers & administrators the ability to track activity & engagement. The classroom dashboard told them

how many students visited the classroom each day

how much discussion was happening in the social newsfeed

how many learning materials were being accessed each day

how many assessments & quiz submissions were being made each day

It also gave teachers insights into the learning progress of each student so that they can take prompt action in case one is lagging behind.

Pushed for Teamie to connect with Zapier to integrate easily with other services
