Bad News for Francesco Gabbani, the gorilla can’t enter Ukrainian territory

The favorite for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with his song Occidentali’s Karma, Francesco Gabbani, was dealt a huge blow as it appears the gorilla with him on stage hasn’t been granted access to Ukraine.

In a case very reminiscent of the one involving Russian contestant Julia Samoylova, Ukrainian authorities have decided to disallow the entry of the naked ape on its territory.

“The gorilla can’t enter in Ukraine, there is a zoo in Crimea, where there is the exact same ape, so he’s in clear violation of the law regarding the entrance of people who traveled to Crimea from Russia, into Ukraine”, said a spokesman for the Ukrainian government, Piotr Fishy.

When told that the gorilla is not a real animal, but rather a person inside a gorilla costume, Mr. Fishy responded with the following: “Of course, and you’ll tell me that the people from Lordi are not real monsters? Or that Sandra Kim wasn’t 15 as she told in her song when she won Eurovision? Come on!”
