There is a post going around about the correct way to start reading Discworld.
It's a long post, and I don't want to derail it, so I made my own post to give you, my followers, the one Ture Correct Way to get into Discworld:
Go to a bookstore, ideally actually one of those shitty ones at the airport, but they tend to not have Discworld nowadays.
Failing that the best option is a Used Bookstore.
Both of these locations will have at most one Discworld book. (Airport b/c they are never well stocked, used bookstore b/c pratchett never stays on the shelf for long)
Take that book. That is your intro to the brilliance of Pratchett (probably, you may have read a non discworld Pratchett book before, but that seems unlikely) That's how I got into it, my first was Hogfather and it is still in my top 3.
If none of these options are available to you, got to whatever local bookstore and pick one at random.
Your intro will be unique (ish) your experience will be your own, and uncoloured by other peoples views!
Preach.
Or whatever the library has available.
