mileven is so pure but they are so demonized, and I always wonder how much of it stems from their gender role reversal of the typical man superhero and woman love interest... Mike takes on the "feminized" role while El is the "masculinized" subverting the typical heteropatriarchal gender roles with him taking on the position of homemaker and "heart" taking on the emotional labor typically relegated to women whereas El is brute strength and logic taking on the physical labor typically relegated to men.

Let's start at the beginning of milevens hate train... Season 3... After s3 dropped and the on slaught of mileven hate begun and I started to joke that the hate mileven faces is misogynistic because general audiences can't fathom a girl being the "stoic", "strong" one and they absolutely detested that a boy is happily the "emotional", "caring" one. However, I now believe there was validity to that joke. El was more accepted in this masculine role as girls taking on masculine roles wasn't really frowned upon in the late 2010s (I'll get to season 5 and the 2020s in another post) but Mike... Mike was a target of toxic fragile masculine hate because being in the women's role (when speaking in gendered binary terms) is most villainous thing you could do in society.

Mike openly cries and has emotional outbursts like every other sci-fi/comic book love interest but it's "toxic" because he's a boy "and boys don't cry" rather than the typical "superhero girlfriend" who is allowed to pout and stew in honor of the superheroes safety. Mike however is demonized for his "feminine" outbursts with general audiences not realizing that all genders can be emotional. If El had been a man and Mike a woman the hate train after s3 would have never existed because both of them would be in their heternormative subscribed role within the gender binary.

So, I just finished the second season of the One Piece live action.

Subscribed to netflix, just for that.

-Loved the way they keep up with the color, the humor and the whimsy) I really needed it.

-All the new female characters are just great😍

-Vivi is the royal heiress we need. She deeply loves her people and want to lead. She's capable, resourceful, intelligent, mature and responsible. Some time responsible to unhealthy degree. She's taking her role as future queen, very seriously and is eager to learn since childhood. I really love her dinamic with the crew. I also liked the way she and Luffy, both taught earth other something about leadership.

-The Doctorine. Literally the best doctor in the country. Lived whole 134 ears thanks to her skill and knowledge. And still kicking ass. As many medics she's seen a lot, and it made her closed off and cynical. The way's she raised chopper, rase questions, but we need flawed mother figures. Yet, despite all she still care's)

-Nico Robin served looks and aura, but had too little screen time. I hope too see more of her next season.

-Chopper is a cutie. Pick character design, in all tree forms. I loved his arc and his dinamic with his father. The way he evidently kill him with the mushroom is very tragic. It's a really hard way to learn the responsibility of a doctor)

The horror is the idea that you might choose to spend your life with somebody only to realize they don't actually want a partner and friend, somebody with ambitions and thoughts and joy. They want somebody productive, compliant, and sexually available, and all your internal life is nothing but a barrier to that. That the person you love only loves what you do for them, and the less of the an actual person you are, the happier they are.

Is a file extension you don't recognise (this one is a visual basic file, used for scripting, but others like exe or bat are used)

has a very low or unexpected file size (this one's is less than 1KB, or 0.001MB, a good reference should be at least 500KB)

Is likely a scam. Stay safe kids.
