The guys in the middle are Senegalese drummers (father and son) who ripped it. The guitarist on the bottom blew my mind and antibalas just always brings the noise and makes everyone move. Landed in New Orleans just in time for a special day remembering the great Allen Toussaint. Listening to WWOZ for the tribute concert happening now. I'll never forget performing with him at Carnegie Hall for a rendition of his friend Paul Simon's "take me to the Mardi Gras"...I remember this slight mischievous grin he gave to us, peeking over the piano, before we started as if to say, everything's alright, let's just get down in it and GROOVE. And that we did. The coolest. RIP #AllenToussaint

What a way to end an incredible 4 week run at @brooklynbowl last night with #antibalas. Words can't describe how good it feels to put a tremendous amount of work in with a group of guys who push me to my best. Every single person in the Antibalas family inspires me in their own right as well as collectively - Monster musicians, people, and friends. So much fun last night, collaborating with Sahr, Kalmia, some Cumbia w/ Quantic and some real deal soul n funk w/ the one and only Mr. Lee Fields (pictured with us above).
