First you need to figure out what name you’re going to use. Some girls find it best to use a fake name (like I do), others use their middle name or a play on their name (like they change letters around). Ask him to reserve a spot at your favorite high end restaurant. When he goes up to the hostess to find out where they sat you you’ll most likely hear his real name then. If he whispers it so you don’t hear it he might be sketchy. If he insists on one particular restaurant you should also be a little on guard. He might be friends with the owner (who might look the other way or be covering for him) and up to no good.

When out on a first date with him, try to spot what card he’s using. Sicily has a Black Card. Typically black cards require: An annual membership fee, often costing hundreds of dollars or more. If he says something like he has a beach front condo or an apartment, you should make note of that. Yes, sometimes really nice apartments can be very expensive but it could also be the total opposite and he might have a cheap old bachelor pad in the middle of a low-income area. Note: DO NOT AGREE TO GO BACK TO HIS APARTMENT OR HOUSE WITH HIM TO SEE IT. Just ask for photos, that’s all. If he doesn’t have any tease him about it “Maybe you can take some so next time you can show me. I’m always interested in finding out what kind of decor style my men are into.” 

At some point during the date if he’s wearing a watch, ask him to check the time. This will cause him to most likely lift up his arm so you can check out his watch. From there say something like “Oh I really love your watch! What brand is it?” and then later on google that brand’s watches and check out their prices. Most wealthy business men will invest at least a few thousand into a reliable watch.

Ask him if he’s interested at all in fashion or style then ask him where he usually shops for his clothes. Drop subtle hints about labels such as Celine, Versace, Givenchy and Chanel and make note of how he responds.

If you don’t want to go that route you could also ask him if he travels a lot for work. If he does, ask him what some of his favorite hotel chains to stay in are. Later try to find out how much it is to book a room there. You could also ask if he flies first class, however some companies provide first class flights for free so you might also want to ask if his company books his flights/rooms for him.

Check out his clothes, if his suit jacket is ill fitted that could be a bad sign. He might have borrowed it or just bought something cheap from a local department store. See if you recognize any of the logos on his clothing, tie, shoes, sunglasses or cufflinks. If he’s wearing what looks like an average T-Shirt and Jeans tell him you really like the cut and ask him what brand they are. Sicily sometimes wears what seems like casual T-Shirts but they’re often each $100 or more.

Obviously, stay in a public, busy and well-lit area. Don’t hesitate to pardon yourself to the bathroom to text a friend for help or call the restaurant you’re in to ask an employee to come to the bathroom and then walk you out of the restaurant if you don’t feel safe with him.
