So this is just a test post to see if this post pops up for you guys, but i wanted to take this chance to ask yalls opinions on my fics-to-be
I’ve been thinking, if i did ever want to start writing, I’d probably make short fluffy neteyam fics that could be read as a series or a bunch of separate oneshots. aaaand they would most likely be based off of my ca.i scenarios🤭🤭

There are people who watch Thor and they see Loki transform from the mildly annoyed slightly jealous brother of Thor to this totally unhinged mess with an acute identity crisis so horrified by who he really is that he goes on a destructive rampage and attempts to kill himself and they honestly believe all of that happened because he was jealous and wanted the throne, so he had a temper tantrum when he couldn’t get what he wanted even though he was canonically given the throne in Odin’s absence without him having to take it by underhanded tactics or brute force. Do y'all who think this just tell your selves that being adopted by Odin should have been enough for him? That he should have been happy for the privilege? Do y'all think it’s just fine and dandy to discover that the world you were adopted into thinks you’re a monster? Really???

*I was just kinda writing as I went with no particular plot just a vague idea so sorry if it’s just random and thrown together* 😅
You hiss as the burning liquid cascades down your throat. What was that? -the third, fourth, maybe tenth drink of the night? Too many to count. But it’s not like anybody’s paying attention anyway.
Or so you think.
“Perhaps you should turn in for the night, darling.” A smooth voice whispers in your ear.
You flinch and look up to see a familiar pair of concerned, green eyes staring back at you. You roll your eyes and take another sip from your drink.
“I… don’t.. need to.. Loki.” Your words are slow and slurred and at this point you’re way past being simply a little tipsy.
“I…disagree.” He says slowly, mocking you as he reaches down in an attempt to take your drink from your hands. Your reaction time is slowed but you manage to dodge him.
“Just go.. away, Loki. I’m-a fine.” You push him away from you but he doesn’t budge.
“Well, ‘a fine’ tells me otherwise. You can’t even form a sentence properly.” He argues.
He was seriously starting to get on your nerves now. You’ve dedicated this night to being able to drink away your sorrows, and seeing as you can’t do it any other day, a party is a perfect excuse to numb yourself. And now he’s screwing it up.
“Why even do you care now?!” You shout, words evidently coming out in no particular order.
Loki is taken aback by your sudden, public, outburst. “Darling I’m afraid I do not understan-”
“You’ve basically ignored me all this night and the past couple weeks! And you care suddenly how much I’m drinking?” You voice cracks on the last word and tears form in your eyes.
Lokis eyes soften as he realises what this is really about. He’s been distant lately due to things on Asgard. None of this has been your fault but clearly you’ve been bearing the guilt. How could he have missed this.
“Oh my love.” Loki says gently as he reaches for you, holding you closely in his arms. You whimper and you want to resist but you know you can’t. You’re too weak and this is all you’ve needed. How could you deny it.
Suddenly the room and people around you disappear as Loki teleports you to his own room. He leads you to his bed, sitting you down as he kneels in front of you.
“Y/n, my dear. I’m so sorry that I’ve haven’t been here for you lately. I love you so much and it pains me that I’ve been hurting you without realising it.” His tone is genuine and you can see the desperation in his eyes.
“And I know it’s more than that and you’ve been hurting but darling, trust me, drinking excessively like that is not the answer. I don’t want you falling back to that dark place again.” He has a sense of urgency that you’ve never seen in him before. “Do you understand me, dove?”
You allow the tears to fall freely and you nod your head repeatedly. “Y-yes i understand I’m so sorry Loki.” You throws yourself into his arms and he embraces you effortlessly.
“It’s not your fault, kærasta.” He says, sneaking in your favourite term of endearment he uses for you.
You sniffle against his shoulders and he allows you to remain silent in his arms as you cry, clinging on to him tightly.
After what feels like hours, he makes sure you’ve had plenty of water before holding you as you fall into a peaceful slumber.
“sov godt min elskede.” You hear Loki say before sleep pulls you in.
Loki x Bestfriend! You Headcannons (He’s In Love With You)
A/N: Avenger!Loki AU, Avenger!You
You’re the first person he has ever felt he could just be himself around. There were no titles, no expectations, just Loki. It was freeing.
Loki always searches for you first whenever he hears the latest bit of gossip around the compound (yes, he most definitely is a gossiper, he just loves the drama, and if he can stir the pot, oh he will).
Quiet evenings with you. You force him to watch films with you, and he always grumbles and will consistently commentate through the whole thing, but secretly, he loves it. He loves being able to spend time with just you, away from everyone else.
He thinks he masks his feelings well, he’s known for deception after all, but no… It’s clear to everyone that the man is totally head over heels and would do anything (and I mean anything) for you. They have bets on how long it takes for him to finally tell you.
He didn’t realise what he felt at first, having never really felt romantic love before. Sure, he’d had fancies, but never anything… real.
It took him a long time to realise that yes, it was in fact ‘love’ he felt for you. The moment he realised was when you were both taking a stroll around the compound grounds, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, everything felt perfect. And then you turned to look at him, the sun sitting perfectly behind you, casting you in an almost ethereal glow.
It was then he felt his heart skip a beat, a flutter in his belly, his eyes widening a fraction at the sight of you. He felt sick and excited at the same time. Nervous yet comfortable. Scared yet peaceful. How was that even possible? Even for a God of his own contradictory nature, that all felt so contrasting.
“Loki? You good?” You’d raised a brow, giving him a strange look as he hadn’t said anything in a good ten seconds - which was rare for him.
“Hm?” Loki had blinked, clearing his throat. “I- uh, yeah, yes. Fine.” He had awkwardly told you, nodding, trying to regain composure.
How utterly cliche. Like a scene from one of those awful romantic films you made him suffer through.
Oh, how his gaze softens whenever you’re in the room. Almost like a lovesick puppy. If his past self could see him now, he would’ve called him ‘pathetic’ and tell him to ‘get a grip’.
But current Loki, he didn’t care. The way you made him feel was unlike anything he’d ever felt before.
Of course he had to fall for his best friend. It couldn’t have just been simple. Easy. But then again, of course he had to fall for his best friend… To even be considered his best friend, well, that was no easy feat.
He takes any reason to be ridiculously close to you. Cooking? You bet he’s standing right beside you at the stove, moving every time you move to grab a spice. Watching a film? Yeah, there’s plenty of space on the sofa, but on the other side of it he can’t make sure his arm is touching yours. Handing him something? Oh, he is practically grabbing your whole hand just to feel the tingle go up his arm.
There was one time he had overheard Natasha mentioning she was planning to set up a blind date for you. He had never interjected himself into a conversation so fast before.
“A blind date? How… tedious. Besides, doesn’t it seem counterintuitive? Going to meet someone you have never seen before? Don’t even know the name of? They could be a- a psychopath or a murderer, or worse yet utterly hideous and dull.”
Yeah, he handled that with his usual tactile diplomacy. (Sarcasm)
“That’s not how blind dates work, Loki.” Natasha told him with a smirk. “I know the candidate.”
“Oh, well that makes me feel a lot better.” Sarcasm, obviously.
Loki was extremely relieved when he found out you had turned down her offer.
“Babe, could you pass me the salt?” You’d once said.
Natasha AND Loki both reached for the salt.
You looked at Loki strangely. Natasha simply smirked. Loki looked extremely embarrassed. He didn’t even like the thought of being called ‘babe’. Well… At least not until you’d said it. Even if it wasn’t to him.
“I thought you said ‘hey’-“ Loki had tried to cover.
You got hurt on a mission? Even just a scratch? Oh, Loki is worrrrieeeddddd.
“Let me see.” He’d insist. “Loki, I’m fine-“ You’d try. “Yes, maybe so, but I’d like to be sure, you mortals are extremely fragile-“ He’d say with his usual dry humour.
He’d dress your wound, even if the med staff had done, he would always find something to critique, something that he could do better. All because he wanted to be the one to make sure you were okay, safe, looked after.
The sun is in your eyes? How dare it, utterly unacceptable, he would not have it. He would destroy it for such an offence. (Not really, but you get the idea).
“Loki, no-“ Tony had said. “Loki, yes-“ Loki had said. “Loki, no.” You had said. “Loki, no.” Loki had said. (Again, you get the idea).
He just found you… utterly comforting. Safe. You accepted him for him. Not the masks, just him. And he finally felt like he belonged. And he would be damned if he ever lost that. Whether he ever revealed how he felt or not…
Spoiler: He does, by accident. Slip of the tongue. What a tragedy for a God known for his silver-tongue, but it seemed even he had his slip-ups, his moments of humanness.
☆ Pairing: Loki x Reader
☆ Synopsis: Loki is very bad with people, so meeting anyone new just means a new enemy, and you didn't seem to be the exception. And the way you start getting along seems to indicate so. But... perhaps that's not entirely true.
☆ Word Count: 8,607
☆ Notes: Playful tickles, (a probably very bad) enemies to lovers. @blehblahsworld requested an enemies to lovers and secret dating Loki x Reader, I hope it's more or less what you hoped for.
☆ Warnings: Heavily headcanonned (is that a word?) Loki. This is my first (and probably only) enemies to lovers, the beginning isn't very good because of that, other than that it's a lot of playfulness and tickles. Lots of flashbacks to what I imagine Loki's childhood would be, I just have a weird obsession of writing nostaglic!Loki stuff, I am so sorry.
Who would have thought that Loki would end up becoming part of the group he had tried to take down in the first place? It was laughable, really. People he thought just a thorn in his side were now his first genuine group of friends.
But here he was.
He learned to find humor in Stark and Barton’s sarcastic quips. He got along with Banner, who he found comfortably quiet to read books or drink tea with. He learned to fear and admire Romanoff’s skill and cold mind under pressure, but also adored challenging himself to try tricking her (he wasn’t successful for the most part). He came to admire Roger’s leadership and strong values, and of course reconnecting with his brother was something he’d never admit how much it meant to him. And he learned how much forgiveness and that sense of belonging fulfilled him.
He was a bit surprised that in 10 years the group had grown at least 4 or even 5 times its size. They had gone from 6 heroes to 30 something, with half of them being permanent residents on the Headquarters while the rest came and went.
That’s where he met you. Gods, he didn’t know how there could be someone so insufferable. You were worse than Thor.
You were bright and bubbly, always wore your heart on your sleeve, contrary to him who who always hid his feelings. Loki was a charmer, deliciously cynical and the life of the party if he chose to join, you on the other side where a bit shyer and not the greatest fan of crowded rooms unless it was full of friends; it quite reminded him of the anxiousness he felt as a prince in Asgard, always worried about being seen making a mistake, he was sure you felt exactly that kind of stress.
Seen that way, you and Loki were like day and night. It was no wonder you and Loki hated each other at first side.
“Brother! Come quick!” Thor called. “There’s someone I’d like you to meet!”
Loki sighed and left his book on the little coffee table and got up, Thor’s voice came all the way from the kitchen (loud as always) so he took a bit to reach the kitchen, and as he got closer to the room he noticed laughter and sweet scent filled the air.
It was Thor’s familiar boisterous laughter that made the buildings shake, and a new unfamiliar laughter.
He arrived and saw a Rogers, Romanoff, Thor, Stark and… someone new. That new person was cooking pancakes for dinner and when he turned around… you were like opening the door on a cold winter night after being by the fire all day. Overwhelming for sure.
“Brother what is going on…?”
You had a bright grin on your face and announced Rogers to think fast. Steve chuckled and lifted his plate and soon a pancake flew through the air, nearly hitting Loki in the head had he not ducked in time, before smacking against the plate in Rogers’ hands. Everyone cheered and laughed.
“What the—?!” Loki gasped.
“We got a new friend!” Thor claimed brightly.
“We met at the gym” Natasha announced. “I knew I had met a mutant when I sparred with someone who didn’t hit the floor in the first 3 seconds.”
You smiled timidly and walked to the fridge, lowered and with a single hand and a loud creek, the fridge was lifted effortlessly from the floor.
“Oh.” Loki said uninterested. “Can I go back to my book?”
“I thought I could make dinner as a thank you for being so welcoming” you smiled politely.
“Welcoming?” Loki asked, tilting his head.
“I’m moving here” you grinned brightly.
You know how people sometime tense up when they try to hide their excitement? Well, Loki tense up for the exact opposite reason.
“Remember that empty room beside yours?” Tony smiled brightly. “It’s not gonna be empty anymore.”
Even better.
“What do you like in your pancakes? Chocolate? Nuts? Berries?” you smiled warmly.
“Uh… nuts and berries?” Loki said.
The dinner was delicious, he could give you that. But the second he finished he excused himself wanting to go to bed early. He went to pick up his book before going to his bedroom.
“Ah, brother. There you are.” Thor smiled, already in his pajamas, white and blue stripped pants, a white t-shirt with a stamp of Mjolnir with a cutesy face. “I wanted to talk to you. About our new friend? What do you think? Friendly, right?”
“Awfully” Loki rolled his eyes, “I didn’t think I’d met someone as loud as you. I already have a headache. I know for sure life here has just become infinitely more aggravating…”
“Brother… don’t be like that…” Thor said sadly. Loki simply sighed and went inside his room.
Next morning he saw you again for breakfast. Everyone had their own schedule so to eat there was only Wanda, Loki, Bucky, and you. You helped to make breakfast and you ate quietly, finished quickly and picked up the plates of everyone to put it on the dishwasher and it started running.
“You’re quite helpful…” Wanda smiled warmly.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I wouldn’t want to be aggravating” you smiled brightly, giving a quick glance at Lki that might as well have killed him before leaving the kitchen.
Since then Loki and you hated each other, you argued on daily basis. If Loki said red, you said blue, if he said up you said down.
It even got in the middle of missions. It was only a matter of time until your constant clashing blew up in everyone’s faces.
It wasn’t the greatest idea to send you and Loki on the same group either. But Steve thought it’d help you two get along better if you fought side by side for a mutual goal. It was a nice, but perhaps too innocent thought.
The mission was simple, as Tony called it “bad guys had hostages” situation. There was a bit of intel Nat and Bucky were interested in, hoping to find other settings where potentially more people could be in danger. So it had to be a smooth infiltration and until finding the civilians then it was “breaking stuff” time… Tony should not be allowed to name missions at this point. It made it difficult to take them seriously.
You had been left alone with Loki to find where the hostages were being held captive while Nat went to find the main computer to gather the information while the rest of the group started surrounding and sabotaging the headquarters to cause a diversion and given you a quick escape, plus neutralizing a threat.
Loki wanted to do things his way, as usual. But you had managed to sneak into a clothes hut and you got uniforms to pass undetected… Very much against Loki’s will given he kept arguing he could’ve just casted an illusion.
“This is absurd” Loki scoffed as he put on a shirt gray shirt. “We’re wasting valuable time. My illusions—”
“—Would’ve been casted off the second someone lays a hand on us” you reasoned, doing your best, although fruitless attempt not to sound annoyed at him. “These guys are weirdly touchy, a hand on your shoulder and your done for.”
Loki turned around to give you a snarky comeback, only to be cut off when he saw you changing. You both had been facing opposite directions to give each other privacy, but his attitude got the best of him.
He did not expect the sight he was greeted you as he saw you dressing up.
Your body was toned thanks to the training, and it showed the overly demanding lifestyle and dieting being an Avenger required. It was weird you were muscled like one would expect, given your mutation focused on your physical strength, although he didn’t really know how that worked so he just figured that was part of it. But one would easily tell you trained on a daily basis.
He was mesmerized, even smiling softly at you.
When you turned around you caught him staring and your face turned bright red and you let out a loud screech. Loki panicked and tackled you to cover your mouth.
But it was too late. A guard gave opened the door and the alarms started sounding. It was time to run if you wanted to rescue the hostages.
“What happened?!” Steve spoke through the comms. “The alarms are going off!”
“We were caught!” you called. “Loki—!”
“—tried to save me but I blew it!” Loki cut you off.
“It was your fault!” you snapped at him. “We gotta rush to get the hostages!”
“We need to get the intel we were set to do first…” Loki argued, “we can’t lose the input if the other hostage locations.”
“I’m not abandoning the hostages here, we’re getting them first!” you argued.
“We’re not gonna do either if you guys don’t focus!” Natasha argued through the communicator.
A thing of these groups that became quite cliché was there was always a bunch of guys the were big. Mutants as well. Big, tall and sturdy, almost like human walls, not very smart but insanely strong. He had an axe the size of a human.
You clashed your fist against the guard’s axe and it made you both recoil to process the soreness the impact caused on both of you. This guy clearly had a similar level of raw strength as you. So you wouldn’t be winning this on your own.
You turned to ask for Loki’s back up, but a green fog formed on the spot as Loki vanished on thin air. Not only leaving you on your own, but making the battle field a blurry mess.
“Loki?!”
“Sorry, mortal.” Loki said sarcastically. “We can’t let you ruin the mission.”
“LOKI!” you yelled as you barely dodged a swing from the axe.
“Trickster, go with Romanoff to get the intel!” Tony stated as he flew above the enemy base, knocking out a couple of troupes with his missiles. “Hercules, go with Cap to get the hostages! Go! Go! Go!”
The rest of the mission was a blur, the hostages barely escaped alive, and a few were harmed and had to be treated in the flight back home, and Natasha was injured when she got an ambush from the guards when she was downloading the data.
Even after missions were a nightmare for everyone around you two. The entire trip was loud and obnoxious.
“You had to back me up when the big guy shows up! Not just vanish from the fight!”
“Excuse you, that fight wouldn’t have taken place t begin with if you hadn’t blown our cover!” Loki yelled at you. “You’re lucky my mist cloak allowed us a clean exit!”
“Clean exit?!” you screamed back, poking his chest. “I got a slash on my leg because I couldn’t see where I was going!”
“Yeah, and if you could stay still and not scream so much, I’d patch you up easier” Natasha said half amusedly.
“Sorry Nat…” you apologized, your mood changing completely to warm and friendly.
Thor pulled his brother to the other end of the ship to try having some peace and quiet until they got home.
Of course, Fury was… well, furious.
“You pair of moronic and irresponsible idiots!” Fury said. “It’s a fucking miracle no one is died while the two of you fought like kindergarten brats! Suspended. Both of you. 3 weeks.”
“What?! Director!” you whined.
“Director nothing! Let’s see if this time alone helps you two get along better.” Fury scoffed. “Dismissed.”
Loki on the other hand, didn’t argue. Men with Nick Fury’s temper couldn’t be reasoned with when they were this pissed. He would know, he grew up with two at home. So he just nodded and left the room when he was told to.
It would be a long lock down.
You weren’t much more pleased with the decision, given that after this mission you had plans to go out to the city and now you were essentially grounded like a 5 year old. Downsides of living in the compound, every so often, if you messed up real bad you’d be “grounded”.
Loki too had plans ruined by this. Not the type the others had, who went to big events or dated civilians who they could stay over for a few days when they had time off. Loki didn’t even have friends outside of the Avengers… or at all. But he had learned to enjoy going into the city and indulge in some human theater, casting an illusion to conceal his identity of course, otherwise people would panic. But he liked it, but the dramatic costumes, the theatrical and embellished of speaking of some plays, and the occasional musical that had always a song or two stuck o his brain for a few weeks.
But now that wouldn’t happen until next month. Instead he was stuck with someone he couldn’t stand and that couldn’t stand him back. Great.
The next day of when everyone left to live their lives out of the compound while he stayed locked in his room for as long as he could. He read, he had a little cloth ball that he threw up and caught, he used his illusions to entertain himself, and he even used his phone to try entertaining himself for as long as he could, but sooner than later he grew bored.
He wasn’t the type to be able to stay still, and he got out of his room to walk around the compound, his legs already itching to get a good walk.
As he stretched his body with a nice walk and he felt his mood already boosted a little. He was by the kitchen when he heard music, and not just music, but a song he recognized.
“It’s time to try defying gravity. I think I’ll try defying gravity. Kiss me goodbye, I’m defying gravity. And you won’t bring me down” he heard the song he very much he liked.
As he walked by the kitchen following the song he was greeted with yet another pleasant surprise. A sweet aroma of one of his favorite treats as a kid, apple pie. He remembered being a young child in Asgard, pulling all the tricks and spells in his arsenal to steal the baked goodies from the talented Pastry chefs the palace had in its staff.
His Odin and Frigga impressions became as good as they were due to impersonating them to request for apple pies when his mother made the kitchen “Loki proof” with her magic. He used to eat it so much that right before he turned a teen, he got quite chubby from how much and how often he ate it. At some point he resigned to his baked love in favor of losing weight and becoming a more efficient warrior… although every so often there would be a party and he’d be sure to get a big slice of apple pie to indulge on his guilty pleasure.
Long story short, he absolutely loved apple pie and just the smell made his mouth water and his stomach growl.
He found his feet moving on his own to the kitchen and he didn’t have time to process you were the only one at home, ergo, it was you who he found in the kitchen, baking, and dancing, and singing along the music. He realized right away you hadn’t realized were no longer alone. You had that lack of shame in your dance that one could only have when they were completely alone, his mind wandered to the accidental peep he got at your body during the mission. He couldn’t help but laugh a bit, he hadn’t seen you so relaxed and carefree, even with your bubbly and energetic nature.
Unfortunately, that soft chuckle gave away his presence.
“Ack!” you screech dropping pie onto the floor, your face red like a tomato.
Loki barely reacted fast enough to cast a spell of to catch the pie inches above the ground, but sparing the baked treat and burning to the counter.
It smelled heavenly.
“My apologies, mortal” Loki chuckled, sounding more amused than sorry, although he didn’t mock you, doubting you would be wiling to share your cooking with someone who made fun of him. “I swear I wasn’t trying to scare you.”
“You did!” you scolded him with a beet red blush along your face, Loki surprised himself finding it quite endearing. “God dammit, is it a pastime of yours creeping up on me?!”
“I wasn’t aware you liked Wicked too…” Loki mentioned, changing the subject, wanting to get on your good side. And it worked, because your expression changed, you seemed surprised.
“You like musicals?” you said with a slight smile. “I didn’t take you for someone to like human stuff.”
“Well, a misunderstood character that gets people thinking them a monster because of their skin color and decides to accept that they can only be a villain because that’s the only think you get to be? Might as well be my autobiography.”
“Don’t forget the green and black color aesthetic” you giggled, making him laugh as well. “And a bit snobby.”
“Yeah, I suppose that too.” He smiled.
“I never thought of it like that” you said. “Was it that bad? Being an Elphaba?”
The way you said felt quite soft, kind. It stirred something in his chest.
“To be perfectly fair, I found out I was a frost giant when I was 1,048 years old” Loki admitted. “But at the time I felt like I was going insane. Frost giants were monsters, and in a constant state of imminent war with Asgard…”
“I can imagine you felt like the enemy of everyone you loved” you said sympathetically. “It must have been awful…”
“Earth was a witness to how badly it affected me…”
“wait! New Mexico and New York were the collateral damage to an identity crisis and a mental breakdown from a twenty-year-old?!” you exclaimed, your chin against the counter and tugging on your hair.
Loki shrunk in his place.
“You’re telling me it could have been solved with some therapy, a cup of tea, and probably a hug?”
Loki was a bit surprised that your response wasn’t as aggressive towards him, if anything it irradiated a weird mix of anger and empathy.
“There was also a hint of mind control” Loki defended himself.
“Yeah right, a wizard did it.” You smiled amusedly, and weirdly enough, it made him laugh. “We all saw that you had to touch people’s chests with the pointy end to make it work.”
“I mean it” he smiled. “The mind control from the scepter Thanos gave me came from the time stone in it, and it fueled those around him with anger and left them vulnerable to obey orders if you held onto it for long enough. Banner has pointed out he and the others felt it too. I felt so much… I don’t know… rage? …I didn’t realize what was going most of the time… it wasn’t until I had lost that I truly realized what I had done… and it took even longer for me to realize the gravity of my actions…”
That seemed to convince you, and Loki felt a weird relief from you believing him. You stayed in silence for a while.
“That’s heavy…” you mumbled, not sure what else to tell him, and you offered him your hand.
He wasn’t sure what made him place his hand on your and you gave him a little squeeze, before gently caressing his knuckles with a touch so sweet that made thrills go down his spine. You smiled at him.
“Well… You are one of us freaks now” you smiled softly in a way that made him feel warm and fuzzy.
He pulled his hand away and cleared his throat, feeling his face uncharacteristically hot as he looked down and to his side, just trying to avoid your gaze. You laughed and tried following where his gaze pointed towards, looking at the warm pie on the counter.
“Want some?” you offered, tilting your head to point to the pie and Loki’s stomach grumbled, almost in an involuntary affirmation. He really should’ve had breakfast. You laughed and cut him a big slice and Loki’s mouth water.
He hadn’t really been looking at the pie, but he sure didn’t argue back if you offered him some. The taste was divine. He couldn’t help a rather inappropriate sounding hum of pleasure.
“Oh Norns, what did you put in this?” he asked, his mouth half full of the sweet pie. “These tastes so different from… Mmm! Oh Norns!”
“Ah, just the usual, flour, eggs, milk, apple marmalade, sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon” you listed.
“Cinnamon? What is this cinnamon?” he spoke happily as he ate more. “What kind of apples? They feel so different… Mmmm! This is amazing!”
Loki felt like a child again. For a moment he forgot of everything, he ate messily, a bit of marmalade falling on his shirt which never used to happen. He ate loud and let out happy moans and hums as he enjoyed the pie.
He ate so fast he didn’t realize he had almost finished the huge slice until he saw you serving him another huge, warm, sweet, slice of pie. You didn’t shame him, you simply giggled and smiled brightly at him.
He ate more until he was stuffed… Which happened only once he had finish most of the pie. If anything, what he didn’t eat could be barely called a slice. He felt a bit ashamed from his lack of self control, he hadn’t behaved like this since he was a child. He even let out a small airy burp.
“Excuse me…” he apologized, his face burning from shame.
But rather than being disgusted, you burst out laughing. Loki grimaced from shame.
“Sorry, sorry” you laughed. “Adopted or not, you truly are Thor’s brother. You Asgardians sure have a huge appetite.”
Loki smiled. Despite it being a teasing statement, it didn’t feel aggressive, and so it drew a happy laugh from him. You had a charm to you he couldn’t help but smile and feel like a kid around you.
“You’re so…” he growled with a big grin.
“Aggravating?” you said with a weak smile.
Ah, that. He now regretted his words from the first day you two met. He was such a fool. He saw someone loud and bright and decided you were annoying. But while those first statements were true, you were a delight to have around. And a great baker.
“I should probably… a-ap… um… I haven’t been the best God to be around… Ah… I want to… a— apolo— uh…”
“Apologize?” you smiled and he gulped, before nodding. “Apology accepted. I haven’t been the easiest person for you to deal with… I’m sorry too. Want the last slice?”
Just like that? He didn’t understand how he got away with it so easy. But the offer of the last slice made him nod and you served him the last bit of the pie. Your apology was a bit short too, but as you were placing the last slice on his plate, he noticed your face turn bright red. You didn’t seem much better at apologizing. But the effort was there.
He was flooded by a happy memory of his family.
He had failed to convince on of the pastry chefs to make him a pie. He went to climb a special tree on his mother’s garden where he hid to self-contain his tantrums, knowing that his Seidr went out of control when he was upset.
He didn’t know how long he was up there when he heard someone calling him. Frigga.
“Loki? Child? Are you up there?” a voice called him.
“No! I’m not!” he whined.
He heard Frigga laugh and a sudden sweet aroma filled his nose that made his anger fade away. Apple pie.
“C’mon brother, you come down or I’ll go get you!” he heard Thor calling him playfully. He couldn’t stop himself from laughing a little bit.
“If he doesn’t, I will!” a third voice added.
Loki jolted and jumped down from where was hiding from the tree, falling right on his father’s arms and both tumbled down onto the grass. Odin didn’t often have enough free time to escape his duties and spend quality time around his family. But every once in a while, he sneaked out of his royal duties so all four could do something together.
The rest of the evening they sat together on Frigga’s garden to eat apple pie together, playing and laughing together, and this had been one of the rare occasions where he could outshine Thor, showing the new trick Frigga had taught him. Having the little flower he had picked jump from his hands and onto his brother’s head now as a frog who screeched and fell backwards, making everyone burst out laughing.
It had been one of those happy days full of laughter and joy. Thor and Loki fought with wood swords and both parents chased their kids pretending to be a pair of Bilgesnipes but trapping them in tickle hugs only for both brothers to team up and try returning the favor to their parents… key word: tried.
Loki felt his eyes water a bit and he let out an airy laugh as he wiped his tears. He felt a bit foolish for letting all his anger and insecurities let him forget all those happy days. And letting himself and everyone in his family be drowned in royal duties as he and Thor slowly approached the age of one of them ascending the throne.
“Hey, I didn’t my apple pie was that good” you joked, but still passed him a napkin to clean his eyes.
“S-Sorry, no… yes, it’s um… it’s very good.” He said, feeling a knot on his throat. “Thank you so much… for… f-feeding me. I hadn’t eaten one of these in a few decades. It was…”
“Nostalgic?” you finished the phrase for him, and he nodded. For a silver-tongued guy, he was very bad at expressing his feelings. “It’s okay… Just say the word and I’ll make more for you.”
He smiled and sighed as he wiped the last tears.
“Thank you.”
“Sure…” you nodded and your cheeks turned red. “Hey… uh… since you don’t hate me anymore… maybe we could watch a movie together in the lounge room. Maybe. If you want.”
That made Loki laugh.
“I hated you?! You made it a ritual to disagree with me and get on my nerves, or do I remind you that you are half to blame for the two of us being in a lockdown?!” he said, but he found no anger in his voice, if anything he sounded amused.
The way your face contorted into a funny ashamed grimace made him bite the inside of his cheek to hold back a laugh.
“Maybe… but what was I supposed to do?! I thought you hated my guts!”
“Perhaps let your pride aside for a mission?!” Loki laughed.
“I could let my pride aside had you not mortified it” you grumbled.
Loki froze for a second. The phrasing was different, but he knew exactly what you were referring.
“You like Jane Austen?!” he gasped.
“You like Jane Austen?!”
“I met her!” Loki exclaimed and casted an extremely old book, but it was extremely well kept. “I got this book. “I didn’t come to earth often, but I loved to make little trips to get books. I got this book for my 848th birthday, it’s quite literally a first edition.”
“No way!” you said fascinated as you looked at the book and skimmed through the pages and noticed a scribble and you nearly dropped on the floor. “IT’S SIGNED?! I HATE YOU!”
You grabbed the book and ran.
“HEY! GIVE IT BACK, YOU THIEF!” Loki laughed and chased after you, feeling a flutter in his chest he had never felt.
He chased you around the compound and when he got in range he casted a concealment spell to protect his precious book but now you were in trouble.
Now, he knew you better than he’d ever admit, and he knew that you were one of those mutants that had quite literally god-like strength, just like the spiderling. Although your powers were limited to better stamina, superhuman strength and considerably better speed than an average mutant, but not quite outstanding in that group. And thank goodness because a weakness you had were two left feet and constantly having missteps.
Just like one that given the rush of adrenaline made you drop behind the couch and Loki jumped, sitting on your waist, straddling you with his legs and he struggled to pin your arms to each side of your head. Your faces inches away from each other’s, your breaths were getting mixed from the proximity as you both panted after the chase.
Norns, you smelled like flowers and that delicious apple pie. And your lips, half parted were just so inviting… And… no one would know if…
Before he acted, you had pressed your mouth against his, kissing him fervently and he did not object a single bit, kissing you with a passion he hadn’t realized he felt, always too busy with his misconception of you. But now that he had a taste of you he was going wild with the amount of desire in his gut. You were gorgeous, sexy, funny, caring… very… very sexy.
“I’m sorry…” he breathed heavily. “I was an utter, bumbling fool… I’m sorry… I was the aggravating one, and I judged you too fast.”
“I’m sorry too… I was stupid too, I got too defensive and aggressive…” you whispered against his lips, filling his body with warmth and electricity. “I’m so sorry for being a pain in the ass.”
“Let’s take this elsewhere” he huffed breaking the kiss for just an instance.
And so, the lockdown with you went from punishment to blessing. Now the two of you couldn’t get your hands off each other. One thing he had got right from the first meeting is that you gave him that aura of someone who was extremely affectionate. But he never imagined how good it felt to be on the receiving end of those affections. And you were a forced to be reckoned with, but you loved with the same ferocity you fought, and Loki couldn’t love it more.
He had had lovers in the past, but it always felt transactional, like it was to get something from him, or he let his own insecurities sabotage his relationships. But this was… fun… easy. He no longer had any nobility titles on earth, and you refused to acknowledge him as a god in the literal sense. You treated him like an equal, you wanted nothing from him. You were purely and simply into him… and that made him madly into you.
But it all changed the second the rest started coming back from their lives on the outside world and return to the compound. Loki couldn’t help but feel self-conscious about being lovey dovey in public, much less with someone he had sworn to despise. He knew he’d never hear the end of it from the others. But he couldn’t help being captivated by your beauty, your kindness, your sense of humor, that body of yours… Damn, he was doomed. And you didn’t seem to think much different because you also held back from your affections as soon as there was someone else around.
Wanda and Vision were the first one to return, but those two were in a forever state of honeymoon and barely noticed the world around each other when they were together. But not long after, the compound was full of everyone.
Loki would go insane on days like that because he couldn’t shower with you with his devoted affections. It was like a nasty itch he couldn’t quite scratch.
But it was noticeable that something had changed between the two of you, given you went from nearly killing each other on every interaction to agreeing on nearly everything. And Loki had stopped avoiding the kitchen where everyone gathered around you while you baked. Loki gained a pound or two since the two of you started dating since you always made apple pie especially for him and now, he never missed a single baked treat you made.
It even made him interacted a lot more with everyone else, which at first he considered a sacrifice, but after growing accustomed to the noise, he came to enjoy the company. It reminded him of those few days where his parents, Thor and himself would spend time just relaxing together. And he was sure that was exactly what Thor thought too.
“So, you swear it on your life?” Tony asked.
“Yes Stark, I swear” Loki scoffed with a tiny smile. “Just because I was D. B. Cooper doesn’t mean I caused every little historical mystery. I don’t know who Jack the Ripper was. What he did was vile and disgusting, Thor and I only indulged on confusing humanity, not tormenting you all.”
“Swear it on the name of the love of your life” Clint said holding his beer.
“What?!” Loki said, tensing up, fearing the two of you had been caught.
“I don’t know, you don’t have a wife…” the archer shrugged. “Just swear.”
“I swear it, Barton” Loki said, feeling a bit relieved, but he eyed you and he noticed you had pursed your lips, unsuccessfully fighting a smile and he felt a fuzzy warmth running around in his chest. “But… we may or may not have something to do a certain lost tomb of an ancient queen…”
“NO!” Tony gasped with an incredulous but fascinated smile.
Thor rubbed the back of his neck with an apologetical smile. “Sorry about that…” he apologized and his crewmates started bombarding him with questions. He was so lost in the conversation he failed to hear you calling for him until you raised your voice loud enough for everyone to hear.
“Loki, cupcake?”
“Yes?” he responded in automatic.
He immediately realized his mistake when he saw the tray of cupcakes in your hand. You were not calling sweet petnames. You were offering him a treat. Everyone was looking at him weirdly.
“Are you asking me or telling me?” you saved the situation quickly.
“I do… want a cupcake” he clarified, clearing his throat to not sound nervous.
“Extra cake frosting for frost not so giant?” you smiled teasingly.
“Sure.”
And there had been a few more slips here and there. From how much time you two spent together lately, how you always sat together to sneak little caresses under the table to reaffirm your mutual love even if in secret. Or even developing an acute hearing to kiss as passionately as you could when no one was around which led to a few close calls. Or a few night he’d sneak into your room (and vice versa) to spend the night.
And it slowly became more noticeable to the one person who knew him best, or well, at least for the longest time.
Loki had been invited to see a racecar event on the TV with Thor, Romanoff, Stark, Barton, Banner, Rogers and the rest of the guys. You had declined the invitation, more interested in trying a new recipe and unfortunately for Loki you two had decided that it’d be better for keeping face if Loki joined the others and socialized with the group instead of going to watch you bake. And just like that, Loki was stuck watching a bunch of cars running in circles with a now nearly empty glass of Asgardian ale on his hand.
“So… you and our little pastry cook, hm?” Bucky asked, drinking his own glass, that had just a bit of Asgardian ale to make up for the super-soldier resistance to alcohol, making him slightly tipsy. “Happy for you.”
“What?” Loki asked, his body stiffening.
“It’s clear you feel a little something-something” Tony wiggled his eyebrows. “Have you done anything about it yet?”
“You bet” Natasha chuckled. “Why do you think they argue way less lately? Missions hadn’t been this easy in so long!”
Loki felt his cheeks warm, but he simply hid behind his glass under the excuse to drink more.
“Congratulations, brother!” Thor grinned from ear to ear.
“You’re all straight up delusional!” Loki blushed profoundly.
Everyone laughed loudly at Loki’s reaction, very evidently not believing a single word. He was so embarrassed, and he couldn’t help the hot blush on his face that went all the way to his ears.
“C’mon… tell us the truth!” Tony elbowed his ribs, making Loki jolt, which was noticed by the inventor. “What was that?”
Thor spoke before Loki could come up with an excuse.
“Ah, my brother is awfully ticklish!” Thor smiled brightly. “He used to love getting tickled when we were little.”
“THOR!” Loki protested with his face red like a tomato. “N-No, I’m— I was a child back then!”
Everyone smiled at him in a way that made even the god of mischief want to run for his life. But Thor knew him well, and before he could escape, and he had put him in an arm master lock, and Loki started squirming to break free, but of course, in a one of one, Loki would never beat Thor in terms of physical strength. Everyone exchanged looks and Loki knew exactly what they were thinking.
“Ohoho! I like how you think, Sparky.” Tony chuckled letting his drink to the side, also grabbing Loki’s drink not to waste it.
“That brings back memories, eh Bucky?” Steve chuckled, exchanging an affectionate smile with his best friend.
“And if my memory works correctly, it was a good way to make you talk” Bucky agreed.
“Let’s see if it works for Loki TOO” Steve said and left his beer.
Everyone had forgotten the race on the TV and their drinks to focus on the currently helpless Loki.
“All of you! If you even dare to lay a single finger on me, I swear I will— ACK!” Loki was cut off my a light poke on the side by Natasha. His face burned. “DON’T!”
Everyone was giggling at the reaction from the young god. Loki could only squirm and tug against his older brother’s grip.
And with that, everyone jumped on their former enemy. Poking and prodding the God of Mischief’s torso. Loki tensed up and held his breath eventually letting out a few laughs, still doing his best to refrain his laughter. He wanted to hold back, but every nerve that was being tormented begged him to laugh.
“This could easily end if you admit you are dating—” Tony teased.
“I’M NOHOHOT!” Loki yelped, cursing himself for the laughs that escaped past his lips.
A part of him wanted to just get over it and admit how helplessly in love he was with you, he could easily start demonstrating the world how much he loved you. But he knew neither he or you was ready to deal with the teasing it’d unleash, and even if you were ready, he wanted to do it together, not because it was tortured out of him.
“Man, he’s more ticklish than my kids” Clint laughed as he squeezed Loki’s left ribs.
“Oh, I was just going to say that” Tony laughed, but I squeezing Loki’s lower stomach. “He’s a lot feistier though, Morgan would already be in a giggle fit if I tickled here, below her belly button.”
“Yeah, but your kids don’t have an ego to protect” Natasha laughed as she wiggled her fingers along Loki’s right armpit.
Banner was a lot nicer in the sense that he wasn’t teasing him, but the constant squeezes above his kneecap had Loki twitching.
“I think he’s gonna explode” Steve chuckled as he poked and scribbled along Loki’s side. “This could all be over if you just admit you are seeing a certain someone we all know you are dating.”
“WE AHAHAHAHA- WE AREN’T!” Loki laughed. “I SWEAR! LET ME GO YOU BUNCH OF- NOHOHOHOHO! NOT THERE! NOHOHOHOHO! STOP!”
Now Loki’s face was a dark shade of red and he was laughing his head off. It made everyone freeze a little. He was squirming as if he was being exorcised.
“Woah! He’s losing it!” Steve jumped. “Who did that?”
“That would be me” Thor smiled innocently.
Everyone moved his hands to reveal Thor contorting his arms in a rather uncomfortable manner although very effective position where he kept Loki’s arms raised and stuck in a Y as he was now drilling his fingers against the spot little crevice at the bottom of each armpit, and right where the armpit met the upper ribs. And Loki was going crazy.
And rather than showing him any sort of mercy everyone else resumed their tickle attacks.
“Dammit Thor, you mean defeating your little brother could have been this easy?” Clint laughed. “We could’ve spared us all of his New York invasion! We could’ve just tickled Loki until him pissed himself!”
Gods no, if at this point they were now friends —or at least, had a cordial relationship— and they were about to tickle him to death he might have actually died if they pulled a stunt like this when they were, in fact, trying to kill him. Tears of laughter were already streaming down his face like a river and his stomach ached from the overexertion.
But Loki still refused to betray your trust. There was only one other option left for him: swallow his pride.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA! PLEASE! OH GODS PLEASE, I CAN’T HAHAHAHAAHAHAHA! I CAN’T TAKE IT! I YIELD! PLEASE! PLEASE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!”
Oh, the things he did for love. They wouldn’t let him forget it, but he felt his stomach was gonna explode if he wasn’t allowed to catch his breath.
“Oh, begging? Okay, I think he might be serious” Steve laughed.
“I AM! PLEASE! HAHAHAHAHA! THOR PLEASE!” Loki begged, and uttered the words he hated telling Thor the most. But the words that always made him stop: “YOU WIN, BROTHER! STOP!”
Now Thor knew Loki was serious, and he let go of his arms, thankfully everyone else followed, sparing the God of Mischief from the horrid of fate of die laughing. Loki immediately curled up in a ball, he coughing and panting, desperately trying to catch his breath.
Everyone was giggling around him, all completely unaware that you had been around the corner, and you had watched the whole thing.
Days later, you two had the house for yourselves and decided to put a movie Loki would like and sat on the couch to cuddle during the evening, enjoying each other’s warmth. He admitted that just staying home in baggy clothes and have your arms around each other for hours and hours. And the green sweatshirt you got him was extremely comfortable.
Although as usual, the movie was quickly ignored in favor of kissing each other. You were the sweetest kisser he had the blessing to encounter, you kissed him and caressed him with a love he had never met, you always either cupped his face, played with his hair or caressed his body, but you always sent him into a sensorial state of bliss.
You were such a lovely thing.
“Mmm, you choose such good movies” Loki joked and chuckled with his lips against yours. “So engaging…”
“Oh, haha— funny…” you giggled and rolled your eyes.
He looked at you with a self-satisfied grin as you looked annoyed.
“Oh, c’mon darling, I love you…” he smiled.
“You swear, baby?” you said in a tone that made Loki tilt his head, knowing you were trying to say something.
“What do you mean, love?” he asked.
You smiled and placed your hand on his sides, making him jolt.
“A-Ah… Darling… W-What are you doing?” he asked with a nervous smile.
“I may have learned something about my lovely prince the other day…” you said flirtatiously. “Something fun~”
“Oh, i-is that so?” he smiled nervously, already having a good idea of what was this discovery of yours. “I-I don’t like the sound of that…”
“Oh, c’mon, honey… please!” you wrapped your arms around him in a happy hug. “Please let me tickle you… Everyone got to tickle you. I want my turn!”
Oh, so he was right. He felt a sense of dread and mild panic. He still hadn’t mentally recover from the group attack from the other day…
“Your turn?!” Loki gasped out, and panicked at the sight of your determination to tickle him. “N-No… Darling… Please no, honey… Please, I’m awfully ticklish… I—”
You smile widened from ear to ear from excitement. Loki realized that he was burying his own grave, as the more he argued, the more you wanted to tickle him. He sighed.
“Is there something I could do to convince you to not tickle me?” he said with a pleading expression.
“Not at all” you smiled in that way that brought gods —specifically, this god— to his knees.
He accepted defeat like a gentleman.
“Alright…” he smiled and rested his hands behind his neck, letting himself vulnerable for you. “But when I say stop, you stop. Deal? I mean it when I say I’m very ticklish, and you could get hurt, I can’t control my magic when I get overwhelmed.”
“Ooh, a safe-word already? So naughty” you giggled, making his cheeks flush and groan.
“Just get it over with…” he sighed, finding a weird tingle on his belly. A bit of excitement, perhaps.
You nodded and sneaked your fingers with ease under his hoodie, and it was baggy enough to provide no hinderance to your fingers. Wearing a tank top wasn’t the greatest idea in retrospect. He let out a few giggles already.
“Oh norns…” he chuckled and sucked in a gust of air to keep his composure when you gently brushed along his sides.
Despite he being completely free to move, and you were only one person… he was struggling not to burst out laughing more than when he was teamed up against. Perhaps it was the clothing, or the fact that you made him way more nervous than anyone else in the world. But he was already letting out a few giggles.
“Ehehehehe… D-Darling… Please!”
You were utterly delighted. Loki was the cutest thing in your eyes, and being able to make him giggle like that was a treasure.
“Ohohoho gods! Love please, gohoho eheheheasy on mehehehe!” he laughed. “I cahahan’t stand it!”
You smiled in adoration and ran your fingers along his lower belly, gently gracing along his waistline and he placed a hand over his mouth and looked away to get away from you, too flustered to look you in the eye. He was the strong and mighty God of Mischief… How could you render him so helpless?
“Hahahaha! Pffft! Ack—!”
Oh, but you cruel thing, you quickly took advantage of his raised arm to tickle his armpit making both arms shot down to his sides in a louder giggle fit. He still was afraid to try fighting back, but his body started responding on it’s own and his hands shot to your wrists. But he quickly got nervous. He had severely underestimated how badly he weakened when he was tickled and your superhuman strength. Curse you, mutants.
“Nohohoho! Oh, nohohohoho! Stohohohop that! Lohohohohove!” he laughed as tears formed on the corners of his eyes.
All he could do was throw his head back and laugh against the couch as you laid on stop of him tickling him out of his mind.
Surprisingly he didn’t mind it too much. He found himself liking the attention.
“Hehehehe! Dahaharling! P-Plehehehehease! Please! No mohohohohore! Love, mehehercy!” he laughed weakly.
You giggled and stopped tickling him.
“Are you okay, pretty boy?” you giggled and leaned to kiss the tip of his nose, which made him smile.
“Hehehe… heh… Oh, love, you’re vicious… hahaha…” he chuckled. “That was the worst torture I’ve endured in all of my life… haha…”
“C’mon, you loved it” you smiled and kissed him.
It felt lovely the way Loki smiled into the kiss, even delighting you with a nice buzzing with the way he laughed into your lips. He simply irradiated happiness, and it was contagious.
“Whahat’s so funny?” you asked with a giggle.
“Nothing, nothing…” he smiled brightly and let out a loud contented sigh. “This is just perfection… I love you.”
“Aww…!” you cooed and hugged him tight. “I love you too, you ticklish cutie pie!”
Loki’s face turned red and groaned, and cringing at the overly sweet pet name. And you knew it and openly did it to get him flustered, even adding a tooth rotting coo to your tone that got him super embarrassed.
“I-I’m not a…!” he smiled, a bit flustered.
“Yes, you are!” you giggled and started tickling him again.
“AHH! Hahahahaha! Let me go! Hahaha!” he laughed as he tried to push your hands away without risking to hurt you if he grabbed your hands. He even kicked against the armrest where his feet had been resting. He was “I cahahahan’t- I surrender! Hahahaha!”
“Hehehehe!” you giggle. “You’re a sweetheart…”
“Yeah, I… yeah, I alright, you win…” he chuckled and nuzzled your nose in the sweetest Eskimo kiss. “You’re gorgeous.”
You smiled and wrapped your arms around him, hugging him in a nice hug with your chest pressed against his as he held you and let out a big yawn.
“Sleepy?” you smiled softly and kissed his cheek and he looked at you with droopy eyes.
“It’s your fault… you tickle me too much,” he yawned again. “…it’s only natural I get sleepy after you tickle me halfway to insanity.”
“You love it..” you smiled and snuggled and fell asleep within seconds.
Loki smiled as his hand stopped glowing from the sleeping spell and saw your relaxed form as you rested against his chest. He yawned, and relaxed more now that you’d stay and nap with him.
“I do love it…” he smiled and kissed the top of your head he smiled and saw the little grin on your face as you slept with me. He sighed and soon drifted off to sleep in a nice and peaceful slumber as he left his hands on the small of your back.
He slept for so many hours, so peaceful and content. He was in such a deep sleep that he didn’t notice when a few set of footsteps walking to the couch where you two slept.
“See? I told you they were dating” Steve whispered.
“I never said I disagreed!” Thor yell-whispered. “I know my brother enough to know when he’s infatuated.”
“Can you two shut up?!” Clint shushed them both, and as he pulled out his phone to take pictures. “This is gonna be excellent blackmail!”
“You gotta send them to me!” Tony demanded.
“C’mon guys…” Natasha reasoned with an endeared smile. “It’s kinda cute, they look so happy together. Look at those smiles…”
All the guys looked at Natasha in disbelief, even Banner looked shocked.
“Do you want the photos or not?” Clint asked.
“Oh no, of course I do…” she smiled. “Send it to me.”
Now the backlash of hiding your relationship would be a truly aggravating situation.

He sits on the couch in silence.
He’s having a battle again with himself. A relapse, if you’d call it that.
Your heart hurts. He’s endured so much pain, so much verbal abuse and torture all his life. You want to take it away from him, lock it in a closet, burn it, kill it with acid, anything to relieve him of that emotional burden.
Loving him has come with a few bumps along the road. There are days when he becomes cold and tells you, “I’m nowhere near worthy of the love you’ve given me. How can you love me? How? you beautiful creature….”
There are times you look into those eyes of his, and you see the precious little boy he once was.
Or, how your dad put it once, “scared little boy shivering in the cold”.
If he shivered in the cold, you would wrap a blanket of love, of comfort around him. Hug him, wrap yourself around to protect, shield him from the vicious, icy words his father spewed out of his mouth.
You cried for him at times.
God! How could Odin keep such a secret that would eventually lead to him to attempt to end his life and land in the hands of that son of bitch, who would damage him from the inside out?!
You wanted to scream in the faces of everyone that wounded him. Your mind drifts back to the present, and you focus on him curled up in the corner of the couch again.
How could someone beautiful be so heartbreaking? You could drink him in, consume him entirely if you could. Those rich, black curls were like branches of a willow tree, like yggdrasil itself. Devastatingly gorgeous eyes, the color of sapphire oceans that could churn violently when he was in a rage.
But the feel of him was something else. It was a warmth you wished you could coat yourself in, like honey or chocolate fondue. You never wanted to leave it, whether it was simply him wrapping his arms around you while you’d be cooking in the kitchen, to when he was inside you, burying his face into your neck while you two writhed around in his bed.
You quietly make your way over to him, reaching out to softly stroke his hand.
“Hey there, sunshine…”
He doesn’t lift his head, but you see those eyes flicker upward to focus on you. You sigh.
“I’m right here, love. I’m here, it’s okay,” You whisper, lifting his hand to press your lips to every knuckle and scar.
He loosens slightly, and you carefully place your other hand on his back, stroking it. “I know it’s hard, baby. I’m so sorry all those people hurt you, I want to take that away so bad. So bad, baby, so so bad.”
With that being said, he finally breaks. Soft hiccups and sobs make his body shake, and he falls into you. You immediately embrace him, rocking back and forth.
“It hurts, darling.”
“I know, I'm sorry.”
It takes an hour or two for him to finally get it all out, but he never leaves the shelter of your comfort. You’ve moved to the couch then, his head resting on your lap. You had the fond memories of you in his position, and him stroking your hair while you both watched Doctor Who. But for this being the first time you’ve ever switched roles of being the lap cat, you quite liked this, stroking his hair while he had his eyes closed.
You would protect him for all eternity, never allow such torture or hurt be inflicted on him ever again.
You wanted to be with for all eternity. For months, you envisioned your future with him, gold bands on both of your ring fingers. A house filled with memories, and two dark-haired babies which both of you would love unconditionally.
You smiled, the well-known four words that lead to the key of your future together coming to mind.

Summary: Y/N and Loki had been best friends for a long time now. After the fight in Jotunheim and Thor’s banishment, he had been distant with you after discovering he’s a frost giant and afraid she will hate him when she found out. - 2.774 words.
Y/N had checked everywhere for Loki. The library, kitchen, gardens, training fields…the only place left it was his chambers, so she makes your way through the halls, towards the Prince’s Chambers. Loki’s quarters were usually very quiet. However, now it seemed way too quiet, colder than usual. She approaches his door slowly and knock.
“Go away…” Loki mumbles from the other side.
“It’s me.” Y/N says. She knew Loki hated when people interrupted him, but he never mind when it was her.
Loki remains silent. She doesn’t hear him get up from his bed, but the door slowly creaks open until he’s facing her “Go away, Y/N.” Loki mumbles again, still not looking straight at her.
Y/N had a smile on her face when he opens the door, but it quickly vanished when she sees the state he is "Hey, what happened?"
He doesn’t say anything, but his gaze finally meets hers. He looks exhausted, there are bags under his eyes and he’s paler than usual. He mumbles again, this time louder “I said go away.”
Her hands found his face, holding him to look at her “You're not okay...”
Loki pulls himself away from her grasp, moving back into his chambers and sits down on the edge of his bed again. He buries his head into his hands. There’s so much he’s been trying to process lately, but now it’s finally catching up to him. He mumbles yet again, this time she can make out what he’s saying “Please...go away…I’m fine…”
She follows him, closing the door behind her before she sits by his side, sighing “You know you can't lie to me.”
He looks up at her, a little annoyed by the way she’s insist on staying. However, his expression softens “I know you’re persistent…” He mumbles again, hiding his face in his hands again “Please…can we drop it…I’m fine…”
"If you don't want to talk about it, I won't press you." Y/N puts her hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
Loki leans into her touch, finding a small sense of comfort in the gesture. He lets out a deep sigh, “Thank you…” He mumbles, a quiet and almost defeated tone to his voice. He seems like he still wants to talk, but can’t bring himself to say the words.
She gives him a small smile "But I hope you know that I'll listen to you if want to talk about...you know that, right?"
Loki finally moves his hands from his face, looking straight at her “I know, I know, I just…” He trails off, there were so many things he wanted to share with her. So many things that had been bugging him, but he couldn’t bring himself to bring them up “Just thank you…” Loki remains silent for a little longer, closing his eyes and thinking to himself. He sighs and then finally turns to look at her, once again “Hey…can I…tell you something?”
“Of course.” Y/N says to him.
He takes a deep breath, preparing himself for what he’s about to tell her “I…I just want you to promise to not tell anyone, okay? No one can know what I’m going to tell you…” He looks away, taking another breath.
“I promise.” She says. Loki takes another sigh, trying to find the right words to say. He’s unsure of how she'll react, but she’s one of the only people he can trust.
“I…I found out something and I…well…it’s not a good thing and I just…” He trails off, unable to express exactly how he’s feeling. He takes another deep breath and closes his eyes for a moment as he tries to work up the courage to tell her. Loki takes another deep breath and stares at the ground. “Do you know what a frost giant is?”
Y/N nods at him “Yeah...big, blue and cold creatures.”
Loki’s face turns ghostly pale as he continues, still not meeting her eyes “What if I told you…I was one…?”
She thinks for a few seconds "Is this one of your pranks?"
He looks up at her, finally making eye contact again. He shakes his head, unable to hide the seriousness in his expression “No…No. I swear it’s not…”
“Oh...” she keeps looking at him “Okay.”
Loki’s body suddenly tenses up. He’s waiting for her to react, waiting for her to judge him. He’s expecting nothing but scorn in her voice, anger and disgust. However, when she only give him a simple “okay” instead of saying any of those, Loki’s heart stops for a moment. “A simple okay…?”
"Sorry, I'm still assimilating what you just said..." Y/N says calmly.
Loki is still shocked by her lack of judgement. He keeps staring at her, trying to make sense of the lack of reaction after she just found out something so shocking. “You’re…you’re not disgusted?”
"I'm a bit shocked, that's all..." She smiles slightly at him "Is that why you been distant after..."
Loki nods as she mentions the fight and Thor’s banishment, but he doesn’t really know how to explain everything to you. Everything has been a lot lately and he doesn’t know what to do, this is all new to him as well. He just looks down at the ground as he mumbles once again “Yeah…”
Y/N chuckles again, shaking her head "I thought I had done something to you..."
He sighs as you chuckle. It’s not funny to him “No…no, you didn’t do anything. It’s just that…I’m…it’s just...” He trails off again, not able to get the words out.
"I get it." She smiles, holding his hand into hers to comfort him. Loki looks down at their hands together. She holds his hand so gently, so tenderly. It’s an unexpected touch, something he’s not used to. He looks back up at Y/N, unable to hide the small smile that’s formed on his lips. Y/N is the first one to break the silence this time "Can you....hm...turn blue?" She asks carefully.
Loki chuckles at her question; it definitely caught him off guard “Yes…yes, I can.” He says, his hand still in hers. She notices that his touch is cold.
"Can I see it?" She asks again.
Loki hesitates for a second, unsure of if she actually want to see it. He’s never shown his true side to anyone, not even Y/N. He’s scared she won’t accept him for who he is… He nods slowly, letting go of her hand. “Okay…” He says, standing up from the bed. Loki takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He focuses on his powers for just a moment.
When he opens his eyes again, his skin is now blue, his veins clearly visible as they’re now a light shade of blue and his eyes are red. The chill of his presence feels more profound than before, with a cold breeze seemingly circulating around him. Y/N looks amazed at his new form, standing up to get closer to him, seeing the marks that he has in his blue skin. Loki stands still as she get closer to him, staring at her face the entire time. She looks fascinated, as if she’s staring at a rare and magnificent creature.
Y/N looks at all his exposed skin before she looks back at his eyes "Can I touch you?" Loki doesn’t say anything, just stares at her with a slightly raised eyebrow. After a few seconds, he slowly nods, allowing Y/N to touch him. Her hands trace the marks on his forehead, before both her hands found his cheek. She had a small smile on her face.
Loki can feel his cheeks warming as her fingers trace the marks on his skin. He remains still as Y/N touch his cheek, unsure of what to do. He’s never had someone do this to him…no one has touched him quite in this particular way before.
"Are the marks sensitive?" She asks curious realizing the way he’s reacting.
He shakes his head slightly, her fingers on his cheeks making it difficult for him to focus. His cheeks feel like they’re on fire, he feels oddly embarrassed right now. “No…”He whispers, trying to remain composed.
“Okay.” Y/N replied with the smile still on her face.
Loki knew that if his skin wasn’t blue, he would probably be so red now. He continues to stand still as her fingers run across his cheek, trying his hardest to distract himself from how his body feels while her skin is touching his own. However, it’s impossible; he feels too vulnerable and exposed right now, he’s never been touched in such a familiar way before… He’s a bit lost for words right now.
"You're skin is cold, but I guess that's normal, right?" She asks looking at his eyes. Loki nods at her question. He can’t help it, her touch is making him feel all sorts of ways. He keeps his eyes locked on hers, trying to read what she’s thinking. Y/N smiles at him and notices that they’re really close "I liked this form of you."
Loki’s heart feels like it’s going to burst out of his chest. The way she’s smiling at him…it all makes him feel like she’s looking at him as something more than his friend. His eyes keep staring at hers, unable to look away. He moves his head just a tiny bit, a few inches closer to her, but Y/N doesn’t move back. Loki’s face is only an inch away from hers and he feels like he’s being drawn in by her gaze, closer and closer.
Y/N kept her hand in his cheek while she moves closer to his face. Loki’s breathing grows heavier, his heart beating wildly. He can practically feel each pulse as it runs through his body. He doesn’t know what came over him, but he decides to act upon his growing desires. His face moves that tiny bit closer to her, until their lips are just millimeters apart. Y/N leans in, brushing her lips slightly against his.
Loki freezes. The second their lips actually touched, his body reacted almost instantly, and he pulls Y/N into his arms. His head meets hers, their lips locked in a passionate kiss. She kiss him more passionately and Loki returns the kiss with equal, if not more, passion. His arms are wrapped around her. Y/N can feel the chill that’s radiating from him, her heat matching his cold.
He was taken off guard by her sudden boldness when her tongue asked permission. The touch of her tongue made him shiver in a good way. He opens his mouth, allowing her tongue to slide into his own. Everything feels new, everything feels strange and unfamiliar, he never thought this would happen to him, but he can’t fight it. He just lets the sensation wash over him, not allowing himself an inch to resist her.
Eventually, Y/N had to break the kiss to breath, and she do it smiling at him. Loki also need some air, keeping his eyes locked with her when she pulls away. A shiver runs through his body as the heat leaves his skin, but he only keeps looking at her with passion.
"I thought you were push me away..." She chuckles.
Loki just shakes his head as he continues to look at her. His smile from before is wider now; he’s never felt like this before. He had never felt this close with someone, never felt this…passionate. He likes it. He wants more. But, he wants it with her.
"Can you go back to your 'normal' form?" She smiles "I know you're blushing, and I can't see with your blue skin.”
Loki chuckles a bit at her words. He moves his hands from her waist, and slowly his body changes. His skin slowly changes back to its usual pale color, and so do his eyes. Loki smiles back at her and his cheeks are still a very light shade of pink. “Better? Now you can see my blush?” He says jokingly.
"Uhum" Y/N nods with a smile.
He chuckles again and runs his fingers through his hair “I…that…you caught me off guard back there…” He says as he shifts his feet a bit.
"When I touched your face?”
Loki nods, now looking away from her gaze as he speaks “And when you kissed me…I just…I didn’t expect it…”
"Oh, I'm sorry..." Y/N looks down, realizing she might had screwed their friendship now. Loki quickly moves his hands on her chin, forcing her to look back at him.
He’s still smiling, he’s not upset or anything of the sort. On the contrary, he looks almost delighted. “Don’t be sorry…” He chuckles, still smiling, but then his smile shifts into a smirk “I enjoyed it…”
"You did?" she smiles.
Loki chuckles and nods once again “Yes…I very much did…” He says as he shifts back, looking around the room momentarily before looking back at her. “But are you sure it’s alright? I just…don’t want you to see me any differently…”
Y/N laughs and shakes her head "I just kissed you in your frost giant form and you're worried that I'll see you differently?"
Loki chuckles and looks down for a moment. He’s actually enjoying having this conversation with her, it’s making him feel less awkward. “Well, it is…unusual for friends to kiss one another…”
“It is.” She says with a soft tone.
Loki laughs and shrugs his shoulders. He’s not sure how they got to this point, his sadness long forgoten, but he’s not particularly complaining. Maybe it was the kiss, maybe it was the whole frost giant thing, but Loki’s feeling pretty good about the situation. “So, what now? Do we just...ignore that whole kiss thing and continue our friendship...?”
"Is that what you want?" Y/N asks him.
He thinks for a moment. “No…I don’t think I want to go back to how things were before.” Loki smiles a bit when he says this, and his eyes lock onto her as he leans towards Y/N again. She smiles, leaning in too and kissing him again. His hands reach to her waist and grip her against him. He kisses Y/N once again, passionate, like he had before, but in his usual form this time. He moves his hands from her waist to her hips, trying to stay as close as possible.
When they break the kiss, they don't move. Y/N smiles at him "I don't want to go back to how things were before either..."
Loki feels relieved at her words and he smiles, his smile a bit wider than before. “So, you really don't mind that...that I am...” He says, starting to stutter slightly before he collects himself and continues “...a frost giant?”
"No, Loki. I don't mind." She smiles, caressing his cheek.
He stares at her with disbelief for a few moments before he nods slowly, seemingly accepting her words for what they are. He smiles back at Y/N. She doesn't treat him like an alien.
"I also wouldn't mind you being blue sometimes, you know." Y/N smiles at him.
Loki blinks a bit and stares at her for a moment. She's not afraid of him in his frost giant form...she actually like it... He tries to hide his shock and delight, but it shows on his face anyway. “You wouldn’t...?He says incredulously.
"What? You're quite handsome in both forms." She chuckles.
He laughs a little too, your comment catching him off guard. “That's the first time I've ever heard that, actually...” Again, his cheeks blush.
"That you're handsome?" Y/N asks confused.
Loki nods, feeling strangely vulnerable. “Yes...you're...you're the first to actually compliment my appearance...”
"I found that so hard to believe, Loki." She laughs, her arms going around his neck. Loki chuckles at her comment and wraps his arms around her as well. "You have to promise me something, though..." She says serious.
Loki’s heart sinks a little at her sudden serious tone, his grip around her slightly harder. His eyes are fixated on hers, eager for whatever it is she’s going to say. “Yes?” His voice is almost a whisper.
"Whenever you blush in your frost giant form, you have to turn back. I can't see you blushing like that.” Y/N laughs.
He chuckles as well, his smile growing. "You almost gave me a heart attack just now." He says lightly.
"Sorry.” Y/N laughs and Loki follows her. “So...” She smirks at him “Can you turn blue again?”
Loki chuckles at her smirk, but then nods his head and do as she asks, his form changes back into his frost giant form. He remains still for a few more seconds before he speaks once more. "Test away..."
Summary: Loki and Y/N had became friends quickly when they met. She was a daughter of an ally of Odin, so he offered for them to live in Asgard. Loki and Y/N always teased each other and there was a lot of tension between them, but they were just friends...or not? (3.301 words)
A/N: there will be a part 2 with smut!
Loki was watching Y/N as she sats in the bench of the garden and looked at the flowers. He’s been admiring her for quite some time now. She and Loki are friends...the only friend he had. He slowly walks up behind her, planning on scaring her. Loki was never trusted and mostly hated in Asgard… but she took her time to know him and be with him.
“Hello darling.” He says with a grin as he sits down beside her.
"Hello Loki." Y/N smiles at him.
He was taken aback, he was hoping she would jump and startle. "You seem unfazed, perhaps I need to try harder?" Loki says with a small sigh and chuckle, looking back up to the sky.
"Perhaps I just got used to you doing that." Y/N chuckles.
Loki's face lights up once again, his usual self was appearing now, being playful. "Fair enough, darling." He said as he looked right at her, his eyes a vibrant blue as he stared, it was almost hypnotic as he just stared.
"So, what do I own the pleasure today?" She teases him.
"The pleasure of seeing my pretty face." Loki's tone was sarcastic and playful, his grin turning into a smirk as he teases her back. Y/N laughs, pushing him playfully, caugthing him off guard and making he fall, landing on the grass. He laughed though; his laugh was contagious as he stared at her.. he was tempted to pull Y/N on top of him.
Y/N always loved hearing him laughs "Don't you dare." She says, still laughing.
"Why not?" Loki asks, still looking at her, he is clearly flirting as he tries to move to pull her closer to him on the grass.
"Loki, this dress is new." She laughs.
"Well, we're in a garden and grass is part of the garden, and I'm only following your lead." Loki retorts teasingly, his smile growing in size. Once her laughter dies down, he moves again to try to pull her closer. Loki managed to hold her wrist, pulling her and making her fall on top of him.
"Loki!!"
Loki's plan worked and he laughed softly as she fell on top of him, he was quite pleased with himself as his eyes locked onto hers. Y/N was quite close now and her scent filled the air, he couldn't help but feel a sense of desire… he was quite flustered now, but he held her stare, his eyes filled with lust.
"This dress was new." She complained but didn't move.
"My apologies, I shall buy you a new one." Loki says teasingly, but he had no intention of doing so. He was trying to hold back laughter though as he looked at her, he couldn't resist moving his hands up… his hands started grazing her hips gently and slowly.
Y/N rolls her eyes "I don't want a new one"
"Then why are you complaining?" Loki asks teasingly, he didn’t really stop his hands from travelling up her sides, his hands now at her waist… his grip slightly tightened to prevent Y/N from moving. Now it was very obvious as she felt his breath at her neck.
"Because I liked this one." Y/N moves her legs so she's short of sitting on him, her legs straddling him.
Loki's face flushes and she could see his eyes flicker as he was enjoying this. He liked the way her legs were wrapped around him he could feel where she was pressing against him… he liked how close she was to him and Y/N could feel his breathing. Her heart was beating fast, she knew it was a bold move for her to do it. Loki was also getting heated up, she could feel his chest rising and falling as he took faster breaths, he was close to holding his breath. Once he realizedthat his breathing was getting faster, he decided to bite his lip, trying to control himself. Y/N could see his eyes flicker and it was clear he was trying to control whatever animalistic desires he had for her at this moment... yet he couldn't help but gaze at her lips.
After a few seconds, Y/N rolls to her side, laying with her back on the grass, by his side, making he lose the hold on her. Loki watches her as she falls to the side, he was a little disappointed that her legs had suddenly left his body, but he wasn't going to try to push you back on. Instead, he turned to his side to lay next to Y/N so he could stare at her. Loki had been able to calm himself down slightly from his initial state of almost losing control.
"Are you going to the ball tonight?" She asks looking at him.
Loki nods, his eyes don't shift away from hers... his lips still slightly curled from the bite. The ball... he wasn't keen on going to it at all. Even with the amount of women there he wasn't interested in any of them. "Yes, I will be attending the ball. I have someone in particular i was planning on dancing with. You?"
"Really? Is she pretty? She must be if she's making you're going to the ball... Y/N smirked at him, teasing. She knew how much Loki hated those parties.
"She's extremely pretty... she is quite beautiful. "He says teasingly, not mentioning that he was talking about her. Her beauty had already struck a chord with him, and she had no idea... Loki was also a little disappointed at her, she had already made assumptions as to who he was talking about, and she clearly hadn't even thought that he would find her more attractive... which he did. His face turned slightly red.
Y/N smiles widen "Are you blushing?"
"No, I am not blushing!" Loki said, clearly not being truthful. The blush had spread on his cheeks, and she could clearly see it on his face. He was trying to keep his composure but the closer she got to him, the more agitated and flustered he was getting. His breathing had gotten heavier, and he was starting to feel warm.
"You are." She smiles and chuckled "I want to meet her in the ball. The woman who can make you blush like that must be something."
Loki knew you would say that she was too curious for her own good. Loki chuckled softly at her comment and his face flushed again "Maybe you should come and see for yourself."
"Oh, I will." She smiles at him.
Loki chuckles and rolls over slightly so that he was closer. His eyes twinkled. His breathing was heavier, and he was finding it hard to keep from blushing. He stared directly at her as he spoke. "You'll have to save a dance for me though."
"Sure." She stands up, offering her hand to help him too.
He takes her hand and pulls himself up to his feet, his eyes still gazing at her. When he was upright, he stared at Y/N for a few seconds longer. “Thank you…” He says, his voice very soft… very intimate. As if he didn’t mean to let it slip out. Y/N looks up at him, smiling. Loki was very tall, and she was short compared to him. Once again, she could see the blush on his cheeks as he looked down at her. He looked at her smiling face and wanted to just push Y/N into the grass again and make out with her. But he knew doing that would be quite inappropriate… he couldn’t even control his feelings towards her right now.
She looks at her dress "You see, it's all dirty now, thanks to someone who pulled me on the grass."
Loki chuckles softly as he listens, clearly aware that she was referring to him. "It looks fine, darling. I don't mind." He says as his mouth curves into a small smile.
Y/N rolls her eyes again as she tries to brush off the grass on it, but she couldn't reach her back "Care to help me here? After all, it's your fault.”
"Certainly." Loki immediately offers to help, he knew the reason why he wanted to help her was to touch her back, but he was trying his hardest not to be inappropriate. A small smirk appears on his face before he reaches and gently caresses her back as he brushed the grass off.
"Thanks" She starts to walk away, but turn to him when she sees he's not following "Are you gonna just stay there?"
Loki immediately snaps out of his trance as she walks away... she was quite a teasing girl. "Why would I be following?" Loki asks, his tone was playful as his smile grew wider.
"Because you're a nice prince that will escort the lady back to her room?" She smirks.
Loki chuckles again, even though he was blushing, he had to admit it, she was definitely teasing him now. Y/N also called him "Prince", making him sound like a very good man when clearly that wasn't the case... but he couldn't deny her charms either. "Very well, my lady." Loki says mockingly.
She laughs when he walks by her side "Aren't you going to be a gentleman and offer me your arm?"
"Oh yes, my dear sweet lady..." Loki says mockingly as he offers her his arm, his grin growing in size. He was playing along with her acting. She links her arm in his as they walk to her room.
As soon as they reach her room, she let go off his arm "Thank you for escorting me, my dear prince." She says mocking “I guess I see you at the ball later?”
Loki grins at her once more, he was having so much fun and he was definitely looking forward to later "You will indeed, my lady. I shall see you at the ball."
She laughs before kissing his cheek "See you."
His cheeks go bright red in the matter of a second, her kiss was unexpected. He was a God, but her small, sweet kiss made his heart flutter, it really took him by surprise. Y/N shut the door before he could even register what just happened... but he was left stunned by the kiss. He just stood near the door, trying to process what had just happened.
Later, at the ball, Y/N entered the throne room where the ball was happening. She quickly found Thor and her friends, and she says hello, when she felt a presence behind her.
"Hello, Loki" She smiles at him.
Loki wasn't impressed at all with the ball, but that was until Y/N arrived. All his concerns about the ball were completely forgotten… she was here. “Hello darling.”
"Not trying to scare me again, are you?" She chuckles as she walks away from Thor and the others, Loki following her.
Loki laughs at her comment “No, I have no interest in scaring you…" He smiles widely, clearly making an effort to show his genuine feelings towards her. She was so beautiful, and he couldn’t look away.
Y/N chuckles as she got a drink "What about your mysterious girl? Have she arrived?"
Loki thought if it was it worth making her jealous... Yes… yes it was. This was going to work out just fine, he thought. “Yes, she’s here… you know she couldn’t miss it, I did promise to dance with her tonight…”
"Good for her..." She whispered to herself while she took a sip of her drink.
Loki could hear her whisper, that little comment she made definitely showed her jealousy now. He was enjoying this moment immensely because he knew just how much she wanted to be his only priority “Jealous?” Loki asked, the smile on his faces grew wider.
"Oh, you wish." She chuckles.
Loki was getting amused by her teasing now, once again she was trying to act like she didn’t care… but her jealously was clearly showing. His hand went up to her chin and gently turned her face to look at him “I don’t know, you seem awfully concerned about this mysterious girl, darling.”
"I just want to meet the girls who can make the god of Mischief blush, that’s all." She teases him.
Loki chuckles and leans in slightly, he was enjoying this so much. She was trying so hard not to be jealous, it was so humorous. “Well, I don’t think you’ll be getting the chance my dear. I’m going to make sure I only give her my attention tonight and not you… unless-” Loki said teasingly.
"Good luck then, Loki" She smiles "I actually promised Thor a dance tonight." Y/N knew that talking about Thor it would hit a nerve on him.
“You promised Thor a dance?” Loki asks a bit surprised by that. He looks at her and raises an eyebrow. “But... I thought you promised to dance with me…? Why would you agree to a dance with someone else?”
"What did you say? Oh, right 'I’m going to make sure I only give her my attention tonight and not you.'” she quotes him with a smirk.
Loki’s eyes widened when she quoted him. She just wouldn’t let anything slip past her, she always knew how to make him get riled up. “That’s different! I was trying to make you jealous, I wasn’t actually planning on giving her all of my attention tonight!”
"Too bad." She smirks "Have fun with your girl, Loki" It was the last thing she said before she left him.
He was stunned as she just walked away from him. She was just leaving him? He couldn’t just let her walk away. His voice was raised when he spoke. “Dammit, Y/N! Wait!”
But it was too late, she had already walked away from him. Loki was mad, he couldn’t believe that she would do this to him. His ego and pride were hurt beyond belief. Y/N in fact had just left the party, walking to the garden again. She sits on the bench, taking her shoes off and letting a few tears fall off her face.
A few minutes after, Loki realized his mistake. He should have not let her walk away like that, he should have done something to keep Y/N there. But now she was gone... and a wave of guilt washed over his body... He had to find her. Loki went after his brother Thor, after all Y/N had said she was gonna dance with him. But Thor didn't know anything about dancing with her or where she was.
Y/N took a few minutes to recompose herself, before she hears steps behind her "I'm not in the mood, Loki."
Loki froze a few steps from her, he had been getting closer and closer but once he heard her voice he went still. She was not trying to talk about it, that was clear to him. "I just needed to find you..." His voice was shaky, he was trying to hide how sad he was, but he felt like his world was just shattered.
"You found me. Now go back to the ball." Y/N was angry and sad.
Loki's shoulders drop and a look of sadness falls over his face as he knows that there is nothing he can do now. She refuses to talk to him and if he tries harder, it's only going to make her more upset with him. He is stuck and doesn't have a choice but to do as she says. "Goodbye, darling. I'm sorry..." He mutters. His heart was broken. The only thing on his mind now was getting drunk out of his mind.
She turns to look at him "Are you really gonna leave?"
Loki pauses when she says that, she sounded like she was expecting him to do something else besides leave. He takes a deep breath and turns back around to face her "You just said...?"
"I know what I said. You never listen to me, I didn't think you were gonna start it now..."
"You just told me to go back to the ball..." He says plainly as his lips curl into a frown.
She rolls her eyes and turn back to stare at the garden "You're so difficult sometimes."
Loki is just getting more and more irritated, what did she want from him? She tells him to leave and then act annoyed because he’s actually doing what she asked. "So, you want me to stay now?"
"No..."
Loki lets out a sigh, she’s the most complicated woman he’s met. Now he’s back where he was before, back to being lost and confused because she wouldn’t just give him a straight answer. “So...you want me to leave?”
Y/N sighs "No..."
"Stop this game, Y/N. Just tell me what you want.” Loki was starting to get flustered by the way she’s acting.
"I want you." That’s all she says.
Those three words sent shivers down his spine, it caused his heart to flutter in his chest. She was being straight up with him now… no more confusion, no more games. It made his heart melt a little bit. “...say that again?”
She turns to look at him this time "I want you."
His eyes were glued to hers, he just stood in shock and disbelief as she had finally said what he wanted to hear. It was almost too good to be true, maybe this was a dream. “Are you sure that’s what you meant to say?”
"Gods, Loki. Am I speaking Greek or something?" She asks frustrated, standing up and walking to him.
Loki chuckles at her comment "No, you're not." His smile widens, his eyes are filled with joy as he leans in and captures her lips with a kiss. She was surprised but after a second, she returned the kiss, her hand going to his neck and his hair.
Loki’s hands wrapped around her waist, and he pulled her closer to him, their bodies pressed up against each other and his lips were meeting hers. The kiss was so intoxicating, and it kept him from thinking clearly, the only thing that he wanted to do in this moment was to keep kissing her. His kisses became more passionate as he kept up the rhythm, not wanting to ever stop.
Eventually, she has to break the kiss to breath. Y/N smiles at him as she tries to catch her breath "I though you would do that in this afternoon, when you pulled me on top of you.”
Loki chuckles and wipes a bit of spit off his lower lip, his eyes are fixated on her lips. He gets a little embarrassed now that she reminds him of that. “…I’ve been wanting to do it all day, but I was hesitant. I didn’t even expect to kiss you tonight.”
"So...I was your 'mysterious girl'?" She smiled at him.
Loki chuckles and nods his head slightly “Yes… you definitely were my mystery girl.”
"You're an ass for making me jealous, you know" She chuckles.
Loki chuckles as he smiles, clearly enjoying this back and forth between you two… she was so much fun to keep up with. “And how good did you feel when you made me jealous in return by promising to dance with Thor? You weren’t exactly innocent either…”
Y/N laughs softly “It was good to see your face.”
Loki laughs too when you admit it to him, clearly you were getting back at him, and it was understandable. He deserves it... “...you are quite the devil, aren’t you?”

"Princess Y/N," your tutor, Runa called out for you as she enters your study.
"Yes?" you asked as you lifted your head up from looking down at all of your notes and papers on your desk, watching her close the door behind her before approaching you with a letter in her hands.
"The prince requested me to pass this letter to you when I was on my way back here," she replied, handing the beautiful ivory papyrus envelope to you that had an elegant emerald green wax seal to keep the contents of the envelope safe. "He wants you to open it as soon as you get it from me."
"Oh, thank you Runa," you said as you extended your arms to take the letter with both of your hands. "Seems like the prince is impatient."
Runa giggled at your remark, recalling the moment Loki ran into her in the middle of the hallways. "I could tell he was desperate to have you open it, it's probably something important."
You carefully peeled the emerald wax seal off of the envelope and placed the seal on your desk, then you opened the flap and inside of the envelope was a letter that was folded neatly. You took out the letter carefully, unfolded it and read what Loki wrote you:
Dear Y/N,
My little dove, today is an important day for me because I get to celebrate your day of birth for the first time as your betrothed. Tonight, please don't make any other plans, I wish to celebrate your birthday with you just like old times. I have a surprise waiting for you at our meeting spot, so don’t be late.
See you tonight, my future princess.
Your betrothed,
Loki
Your heart fluttered as you read the short letter Loki wrote for you, you couldn't help but smile after you finished reading the letter. "Of course he knows how to use his silver-tongue in letters as well," you giggled as you placed the letter down on your desk. "Let's see what he has planned for tonight."

Later that day, you changed out of the dress you wore for the day and opted to change into a emerald green chiffon dress that was simple and had some flow, yet it was still an elegant and modest dress. You then sauntered out to the place where you and Loki met every year for both of your birthdays before he asked to court you.
Once you reached the secret hideout, which was located in the Asgardian forest inside of a cave with a underground waterfall inside of it. The cave never failed to intrigue you, every year for either your birthday or his, the cave always had something magical within it. As you continued to walk further into the cave, you let out a quiet gasp. You were met with a large plush picnic blanket on the hard ground of the cave with Asgardian dishes fit for royalty, along with yours and his favorite books to read. Loki was seated on the blanket, wearing a more casual tunic and his blue eyes lit up when he saw you.
"Hello, my dove," he greeted you, getting up from the blanket and approaching you. He took a hold of one of your hands and kissed the back of your hand softly. You felt your face flush, it was still something you were getting used to, especially since it's you've been doing your royal lessons for about a month. Loki couldn't help but softly chuckle at your reaction to him kissing your hand.
"Hello, my prince," you greeted him back, averting his gaze. Despite the fact that you were friends with him since children, it still felt strange that he was treating you like a proper lady. You didn't mind it at all, it was still something you were trying to get used to after all. "Everything looks so...lavish."
"Of course it is," Loki replied with a soft smile as he takes you to the picnic blanket. "You're going to be my future princess, are you not?"
"I suppose you do have a point," you smiled at him, giving up on trying to start bantering with him. "I should have some kind of sample of dishes that were meant for royalty."
Reaching the plush picnic blanket, you sat down on it and Loki followed suit by sitting next to you. He couldn't keep his eyes off of you.
"You look so beautiful like this, my dove," Loki compliments you as he moves your hair behind your shoulder as you turn your head slightly to look at him. Although Loki loved seeing you grace your armor everywhere you went, seeing you wear dresses was something that he loved even more, he loved seeing you embrace more of your lady-like side.
You couldn't help but start blushing at his words again, he knew how to use his silver-tongue on you. Knowing that he has your full attention, he took a hold of your hand again and held it firmly in his.
"If I’m being truthful, you being born is such a blessing to me," Loki admitted. “I didn’t think you would play such an important role in my whole life. You were my only friend when no one understood me and even chose to take punishments for me when I got in trouble. All the pain I went through until now was worth it, because without you, I wouldn't be the man that I am today. I'm beyond grateful that I had the honor to court the woman that was by my side since the beginning, throughout the good and the bad."
You couldn’t help but tear up at his words, you flung your arms around his neck and pecked the tip of his nose with your lips. "Thank you, my prince. Every year was special, this one is even more special because you and I are betrothed and we're celebrating together for the first time as each other's betrothed."
"Of course, my beautiful dove," Loki replied, as he kissed the tip of your nose back and wrapped his arms around your waist. "Anything for the woman that I love and cherish."
Summary: While running from fans, Loki happens upon a small bookshop. There he discovers an addictive book series, and an even more enticing bookseller.
Note: WE ARE BACK WITH ANOTHER LOKI DAY! Happy season two babes! Hope you enjoy and see you next week!
~*~*~*~*~*~
Like most grand discoveries, Loki found your shop completely by accident.
He was simply looking for a place to hide. Ever since he joined the Avengers, he developed a rather strong following. One that made being caught out in the world a very uncomfortable experience. It made him long for the days when he was reviled for his part in the Battle of New York. At least then people were fearful of him and…much less handsy.
When he first dipped into your store, he did not bother to read the carefully crafted sign or look at the meticulously decorated window display. All he cared about was escaping his persistent fans. If he still had his magic, he could have made himself invisible or just teleported away, alas that was not the case.
“Can I help you?” you asked, your voice carrying a hint of amusement. Probably because it wasn’t every day you saw a man run into your store and slam the door behind him.
Loki opened his mouth to make a smart remark when the smell hit him. A smell that he was intimately familiar with. One that brought him back to happier days and fond memories.
Books.
He looked around and quickly confirmed his suspicions. He was in a bookstore. It was small, no larger than Tony Stark’s shoe closet, but every inch of the walls were covered in books. Also, instead of the awful fluorescent lighting Loki had grown accustomed to, the lighting in your store was much softer. Much warmer.
You slid a bookmark into the book you had been reading, before setting it down on the counter in front of you and giving him your full attention. “Is everything okay?”
“Just avoiding some unwanted attention.” He gestured behind him towards the door he was still leaning against.
“Let me guess,” you said with a playful smile. “You’re an international spy and you’re running from an ex-partner who betrayed you many years ago and is now sworn to kill you?”
Loki looked at you for a moment before realizing you were being serious. “I’m sorry to disappoint, but no.”
“Pity.” You let out a sigh. “I was hoping for some excitement. Things have been slow today.”
“Apologies for being so boring.” Loki straightened up, finally stepping further into the store. A quick glance around told him that the two of you were alone in this store. “Would it help if I purchased something? As thanks for providing me refuge?”
“While that would be appreciated, you don’t have to.” You shook your head. “The Imagine Nation is a safe space for anyone who needs it.”
Loki raised an eyebrow. “The Imagine Nation?”
You oh-so-helpfully pointed to the sign on the front of the counter. Apparently, that was the name of the store he was currently standing in.
“What a ridiculous name.” He rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, the owner came up with it,” you said with a chuckle. “Real nutjob that one.”
“It’s a blessing I didn’t run into them.”
“Oh, I wouldn’t be too sure about that.” You extended your hand toward him. “Hi, Y/N. Proud owner of the is fine establishment.”
Loki’s smile instantly fell. “How many books do I need to buy for you to forget about that?”
“Oh, at least three,” you teased.
For the next hour, you and Loki discussed his favorite books. You said it was necessary to know his taste so that you could recommend the best books for him. The first two seemed right up his alley, but the third confused him. It appeared to be the first book in the series of some smutty serial.
“Guilting you into buying books from me only works once,” you said as you rang up his purchase. “I have to make sure you come back for more and that series is addictive as hell.”
“So, you’ve read it?” Loki asked as he swiped his credit card. Technically it was Tony’s, but you did not need to know that.
“I picked it up as a joke and the next thing I knew I was on book five.” You nodded before placing the receipt in the bag. “I’ll see you soon.”
Loki only rolled his eyes and took the bag from you. He would read the first two books you suggested, but the trashy novel would be shoved into the back of his closet and promptly forgotten about.
~*~*~*~*~
You barely flipped the open sign when your door suddenly burst open.
“So, you mean to tell me that there is just a spaceship with all this knowledge and languages, and no one wants to explore that more?” Loki’s voice came from behind you.
“Hey, I said it was addicting,” you responded before turning to face him. “I never said it was good.”
“The humans were abducted from their home world and crash-landed on a rock of ice, and all they care about is fornicating with the monstrous, blue-skinned natives?”
“Maybe it’s not your cup of tea, but don’t yuck someone else’s yum.”
Loki stared at you, his eyes wide. “You can’t be serious.”
“Very much so.” You crossed your arms. “Now do you want the next book or not?”
Loki sighed before fishing out his wallet. “Only because I want to make sure Liz is alright. She seems to be the only one with any common sense and it would be a shame if she befell some horrible fate. After that, I am done.”
“Hmmm, sure,” you hummed as you retrieved the second book in the series. “I said the same exact thing.”
“Just out of curiosity,” Loki said as you finished ringing him up. “How many books are there in the series.”
“Twenty-two last I checked, not including some novellas and side stories.”
Loki’s eyes widened as he took his purchase. “That seems excessive.”
You only grinned in response. “See you soon, Loki.”
~*~*~*~*~
Over the next few weeks, Loki would storm into your shop and announce some annoyance with the plot of the most recent book, then purchase the next one, and then swear this would be the last time you saw him. Then the cycle would continue a few days later.
Sometimes an entire week would go by before you saw him again, but just when you thought he had given up on the series he would come back in, demanding the next installment.
Loki was in the middle of complaining about one of the plot points in the book as you lead him through the store to get the next book. You knew he knew the way by now, but you still went with him, it wasn’t like your store was busy anyway.
Suddenly an idea popped into your mind, and you cut off his rambling. “What do you think about the sex scenes?”
That stopped Loki right in his tracks. “Excuse me?” He asked after a brief pause.
“The sex,” you repeated as you continued to scan the shelf for the next installment. “You always find something to complain about in these books, but it’s never the sec scenes, and lord knows there are plenty of things to complain about there.”
“I skim over those parts,” he answered with a practiced shrug.
You snorted a laugh. “Bullshit,” you countered. You turned to face him and crossed your arms. “You want me to believe that you are twelve books in and you haven’t read a single sex scene?”
“I’ve read twelve of those awful books?” Loki asked incredulously.
“Don’t change the subject!”
“I skip over them,” Loki said again. “I don’t understand how someone could be attracted to those blue monsters, so it reads a little…unrealistic to me.”
You raised an eyebrow at him. “You don’t understand how a race of giant, hot alien men who respect their women, love to go down on them, and value consent might be attractive?” You asked.
“Hot?” He repeated, and of course that was the part he clung to.
“Yes, hot,” you said. “The barbarians are hot as fuck.”
“They have tails!” Loki shouted incredulously.
“And your point is?” You tilted your head.
He just stared at you incredulously.
“That’s what I thought,” you said before turning back to the shelf and retrieving his book. You handed it to him with a grin. “I told you, Loki. Don’t yuck someone else’s yum.”
Loki winced. “I saying I hated hearing just as much then as I hate it now.”
Together you walked back to the cash register. You rang him up and as you were putting the book into the bag, Loki broke the silence.
“So, if a seven-foot-tall blue alien were to walk in your door tomorrow, what would you do?” He asked.
“I would drop to my knees so fast it would leave imprints on the floor,” you answered immediately before handing him his bag.
“Well then.” Loki grinned as he took the bag from you. “I shall see you tomorrow, darling.”
Summary: You came back to the compound, a year later after you left to make your own career, and you are worried about meeting Loki with how things ended when you left.

Loki flipped through the magazine at a hurried pace, not looking at the photos or any of the articles. His hands needed something tactile to do. Or else, he feared, he might choke someone with them.
He paused when he saw an advertisement for a watch you were modeling for. There you were—a close-up of your beautiful face. Your eyes were bright and round. Your lips were dewy and sensual. Norns, he missed those lips. Especially when they were wrapped around his…
Ugh. Why can’t I stop thinking of her?! Loki snarled under his breath as he threw the magazine halfway across the room. It landed on the floor right by Sam’s feet. “You dropped this!” Sam said picking it up from the floor. He held it up in the air, not even looking, his attention fully absorbed on the TV screen.
Everyone had gathered to watch the talk show you were appearing on tonight. They couldn’t wait to see you come out and gossip about your life or inconsequential things. The entire team supported you in your decision to leave and start your acting career—everyone, except him.
Loki wanted to leave the room. He should’ve left and not agreed to come and watch the show with the others. He was about to stand up when-
“Shh. Shh. Guys quiet down. Here she is!” Wanda said shushing the entire room. Loki watched the enormous television, enraptured. The camera panned over to the audience, their loud applause and cheers were deafening. Signs and pictures were held up from a time when you were an Avenger. He couldn’t help but sink further into his chair and get caught up with your grace once again.
“So, Foxglove- can I still call you Foxglove?” The host asked as you sat down.
“Of course, you can,” you beamed at the man behind the desk.
“I- I don’t know the protocol for these things. Do you get to keep the name even though you’re not an Avenger anymore?”
Your practiced laugh showed through your gritted teeth. “It doesn’t work exactly like that. Foxglove is the name I gave myself. I had it with me when I started with the Avengers and took it with me when I left. It wasn’t a title or anything.”
“And did they just let you leave? I would think it was like being in the mafia. ‘You know too many of our secrets. We can’t let you out alive!’ sorta thing,” the host said, thinking he was being clever.
“My friends and colleagues have all been supportive. And I remain in close contact with most of them.”
‘Most of them.’ That statement swirled the emotions Loki was feeling inside. He was not one of those who supported you and was very vocal about it. The fact that you still keep in contact with almost everyone here left him envious.
“And that’s actually part of the reason why I’m here tonight,” you continued. “My dear friend Tony, whom many of you know as Ironman- again, not a title…” you chuckled. “…Is throwing his annual charity gala this spring. This year he decided to make it a month-long occasion with different charities and events happening once a week culminating in the yearly gala at the end of the month.”
“That’s wonderful! That’s all he does when he’s not out saving the world, is party, huh?” the host said looking straight into the camera.
“Asshole!” Tony sassed under his breath, earning a few chuckles from the team.
“And what exactly is your part in this month-long event?” The host asked you.
“Well, I plan to raise money for The Nature Conservancy here in New York. I ask everyone to come and help us plant new trees or donate. Every dollar will be matched, and we can help restore some of the forests, in other parts of the country.”
“The Nature Conservancy is a special organization for you, isn’t it?”
“Yes, it’s where I first worked. It’s where I first started noticing my powers.”
“Your powers are amazing! You can talk to plants!”
“Well, it’s a lot more complicated than that,” you said with restraint. “Chlorokinesis allows me to excel a plant’s growth to a thousand times what they normally can. I can also enhance their natural defenses and abilities. And like my namesake, Foxglove, I can give you hallucinations when touched.”
“Can we get a demonstration?” the host asked to the cheers of his audience. You reached out to touch him “No, no, no!” he said nervously. “I don’t need any more hallucinations right now!” you both chuckled. “Thank you. But maybe you can make a flower grow?” he suggested, and the audience cheered you on.
“Sure, of course,” you smiled, happily. You rotated your wrists and flicked them around, gesturing for a plant to grow from the host’s wooden desk. The branches wrapped around itself forming a steady trunk. Soon the branches grew out further and further. Blooming wisterias in varying colors began to sprout, amazing the audience.
You used to be unstoppable. You used to tear down enemies left and right, numbing them with your visions before you cut them down and made them regret opposing you. Now you do party tricks for the camera so you can get a laugh from people who don’t care about you. Who didn’t even love you! Loki was furious.
Once again, Loki made to get up. He was almost through the exit of the room when he heard the next question that made him stop.
“So, Foxglove, will you be attending these events alone?” The audience ‘ooh’d’ at the question when the host decided to get a little more personal. “I heard you were cozying up to a certain superhero. Do you like those types? Do you have a type? What does Foxglove look for in a partner?”
You laughed embarrassedly. “These rumors! I swear they pair me up with someone new each week.”
“Oh, but you were seen leaving a nightclub with your costar, Superman himself, Henry Cavil.” The photo was put up on the screen. A picture of the two of you laughing in front of a busy club as Henry gingerly put his arm around your shoulders. The entire room of Avengers whooped and hollered cheering you on.
“We were celebrating. We had just wrapped our movie and it was my first time in London. So, Henry just wanted to show me around. Very friendly. All platonic.” You smiled, blushing. Loki noted that blush. I’ll break him like a twig!
“Ok. Ok. What about your former colleague, Loki of Asgard?” The host asked as a picture of the two of you replaced the one on the screen.
It was a photo taken when the two of you had gotten back from a mission. You had failed and cried about it on the flight back. Loki was wiping the tears from your face, trying to cheer you up. You didn’t know the PR department was there taking shots as all of you disembarked off the jet.
The camera cut back to you and you blushed harder. Once again, Loki noted that blush. He let out a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding and swallowed. Does she miss me too?
“Loki and I have remained good friends. I look forward to seeing him again,” you told the host.
Lies. Not a single word was exchanged between the two of you since you left. The last words you said to him were “I hate you! I never want to see you again!” Loki couldn’t detect any falsehood when you screamed those words at him. That hurt the most.
Everyone turned to where Loki was standing. Some, like Thor, were smiling. Mostly everyone else was shocked.
“What?!” Loki snapped back at them, making everyone turn back to the television.
“Oh! Did you hear that? She wants to see him again.” The host embarrassed you. Your powers grew erratic as a new sprout of branches grew from the tree.
The whole audience was eating it up, clapping. You tried to hide behind your hand, but the different cameras provided different angles of your mortification.
“Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Foxglove, everybody!” The host said pointing towards you clapping. You laughed and waved at the audience as Wisteria petals fell from the ceiling.
Weeks later, you sat in the back of a Maybach that Tony hired to chauffer you to the gala. This year it would be held at the compound which garnered more donations because everyone wanted to see inside the heavily guarded facility. Your intricate beaded dress fit you snuggly and covered you from shoulders to toe. It ensured that no one would accidentally come in contact with your skin. Especially with how crowded Tony’s parties got. The only wrinkle was from all the times you’ve grabbed it in anxiousness and wrung the fabric.
Why did I let Tony talk me into this?! I should’ve faked sick or something! What if Loki’s there? Of course, he’s there. Where else would he be? What if he doesn’t want to see me again? What if he has a date?! Maybe I should’ve invited Henry? No, no. He’d get the wrong idea. Just drop in, say your hellos, then leave. I don’t have to stay. I’m a grown adult. I can do what I want! FUCK! What if Loki comes and talks to me?
Once past the gates, the car crawled through a winding road with lanterns adorning the pathway. The car stopped at the front steps of the Avenger’s compound and you could hear the heavy bass of the music pounding through the car windows as bright lights and lasers littered the night sky.
You made your way through security to the massive, yet highly decorated, quinjet hangar and a sweeping staircase that descended to an impressive room below. You smiled, reminiscing about all the parties and events you attended as an Avenger- sweet memories that erased the worry you had when you were in the car. Picking up your gown, you gracefully descended the staircase. Keeping your eyes trained on the steps below, you tried not to look around, to look for him.
“Fox! I can’t believe you’re here!” Wanda shrieked as she ran up to you. She squeezed your sleeved arm and pressed her cheek on your shoulder.
“I’ve missed you, Wanda!” you said kissing the top of her hair.
“Come on. Everyone’s here- well, almost everyone,” she corrected herself. “We haven’t seen you in so long. Everyone wants to catch up.” She led you along to the bar where you were greeted by your former teammates. You were grateful that Loki wasn’t among them. He always loved these parties. You actively refused invites the past year just to avoid him. Awkward hugs and pleasantries were shared. Drinks were offered along with your first few dances promised to Sam and Wanda.
After hours of conversations with the team, and some drinks with Tony, you fell back into a sense of belonging and family. You didn’t realize how much you missed your friends here. How much you missed being an Avenger. It got so lonely most nights not having anyone to talk to. At least here, you would have had Nat or Bucky to train with in the middle of the night.
Or Loki to keep you company.
You groaned internally. You couldn’t help but be on edge all night, thinking about him and wondering if Loki was ever going to show up.
Before leaving for the night, you excused yourself to get some fresh air. There was a greenhouse in the back glades of the compound that you frequented most nights just to be alone. You used to make the hedges grow all around, giving you a private garden away from the rest of the world.
Inside, it was as if you had never left. The plants stood tall as if to greet you. Bright flowers bloomed in different colors as if in competition to win your adoration. And in the back corner, hidden behind large monstera plants, was a cove of plush blankets and chairs that you hid from anyone ever finding. Everyone except, “Loki?”
Loki sat in the rattan chair; his legs crossed reading a magazine with your picture on the cover. He looked as breathtaking as the first time you saw him, like trouble and a promise all wrapped up in his pressed monochromatic black suit. His mischievous smile appeared, tempting you closer.
“Hello, Foxglove,” he greeted you. His voice sending shivers down your spine. Fight or flight? Fight or flight? You kept repeating in your head.
“I…didn’t know this spot was taken. I won’t bother you. Goodnight,” you hastily said as you turned to leave.
“Wait!” he cried standing up. You could feel him grab hold of your wrist. You looked down to see his shadow holding on to you like a dear friend, shadow to skin. It’s been so long since you’ve been touched. It’s been so hard to be intimate with anyone because of your body’s defense mechanism. And here was Loki, the only man who figured out a loophole to your little enigma.
“I just wanted to say…” Loki paused, staring only into your eyes. “Y-you look beautiful tonight.” You pulled your hand away from his shadow and stayed quiet. “I saw you. We… the team… saw you on the talk show. You’ve done amazing things this past year. One movie, a television show, countless endorsements.”
“Still don’t think I can make it?” you challenged.
“Fox, it was never about that!” he argued. His sudden outburst propelled him like a predator. He stalked his way closer to you, making you back into the glass wall of the greenhouse. You caught whiffs of his cologne mixed with the tropical scent of the flowers all around you. He stopped when he realized he had alarmed you. “I should not have advanced on you so quickly. I apologize.”
“It’s all right. Just habit, I guess.” You were always conscious of people touching you and getting too close. You never wanted to be the cause of their hallucinations. Loki felt relieved that he hadn’t scared you off. His shadow stood ahead of him, rubbing your arm with the back of his fingertips, trying to mollify your anxiousness.
Loki watched and waited as you settled. Jealousy festered in his body at the sight of his shadow being able to comfort you and he couldn’t. “You look… breathtaking, by the way.” He tried to soothe.
“You already said that,” you said curtly, blushing. Loki loved your blush. He loved getting under your skin and teasing you.
“Is your new lover here with you tonight? Got sick of the real superheroes, had to get yourself a pretend one?” he tried deflecting. Loki smirked looking through the glass and out to the party to see if he could spot Cavill.
“As I recall, you wanted nothing to do with me once I stepped foot out of your room,” you said quoting him from the last time you spoke. “So, it’s none of your business whether or not Henry and I are together.”
“But you are…together?” he asked. His stare was unwavering, demanding an answer to his desperate question.
“I don’t need this right now!” You were angry and speechless. He doesn’t have the right to question your life’s choices especially when he wanted no part of them in the first place.
You moved to get away from his shadow’s hold and out of the greenhouse. Loki followed you close. “Fox, please. Stop.”
“Why are you even here, Loki?” you called back, briskly walking towards the exit. “You knew this was- This was my spot. MY SPOT!” you yelled, turning abruptly towards him.
“Because I wanted a chance to talk to you in private! Without the cameras or the paparazzi. Without some life-or-death mission hanging over our heads. I needed to see your face again, without all these people trying to steal your attention away from me.” He stopped and watched you reach for the door to go outside. “I’m sorry, Vixen.”
Vixen.
Feelings you thought you had buried deep down inside of you started to resurface. All because of that name he used. The one he would whisper as he called for you in his arms late at night. The name he used when he made you laugh so hard the only way to stop you was to kiss you.
The one name he knew would stop you in your tracks… because it was the one name he used when he was about to touch you himself.
“I am sorry if I ever made you feel…”
“Unworthy? Incapable? Useless?!” you turned as you accused him.
“Unwanted,” he finished.
Real tears fell down your face now. Loki cupped your cheek and wiped it away with his thumb. You could feel the heat in his touch. The energy. You’ve felt it with his shadow, but there was always something electrifying and passionate when Loki touched you himself.
It was a luxury to feel this connection with someone. To feel the warmth from his fingers. The callouses in his palms. You imagined feeling his soft lips on you once again until you stopped yourself. It was a dangerous path to have such expectations right now. You opened your teary eyes to find Loki watching you.
His eyes darted around to your surroundings before he closed them and tried to focus back on you. “You are very much wanted, Vixen. I just couldn’t admit to myself how much I wanted you back then.”
He opened his eyes to yours. The swirl of emotion in them was breathtaking. It was then that you saw his true face for the first time. His emotions. His thoughts. He was stripped of his armor and his pretenses. You felt as if you two were the only thing that existed in that time and space. As if he were holding his life, right there cupped in between his hands.
Your heart pounded in your ears as he continued his confession. “I am a jealous god. You know this. I didn’t want to share you with anybody. I wanted to keep you to myself. To keep you from the world. I was afraid that you would tire of me like you did with being an Avenger. Cast me out after seeing what the world out there could offer you.”
Loki placed his forehead to yours, feeling your breath on his lips. He bared it all for you tonight. He admitted something you knew was difficult for him to confess.
But could it erase what he made you feel for wanting to follow your dreams? Horrible and selfish. Untalented. Unwanted.
“I love you.” Your eyes grew wide at his expression. “I loved you then. I’ve loved you since. I am still deeply in love with you. Even now, when you’re about to run away from me, my heart won’t let me forget you. I was afraid that I would have no place in the world that you were creating for yourself. So, for that, I am sorry.” You closed your eyes and lingered in his touch a while longer.
“I wanted to apologize. I never got a chance to see you again after our fight, and I regret that I never made amends to you. You had every right to follow your path. I shouldn’t have stopped you. I should’ve supported you.” His thumb caressed your cheeks back and forth. You always did have the softest skin, unblemished by anyone else’s touch, he thought. “You don’t have to say it back. You don’t have to say anything at all. And if you want to leave now, I won’t stop you. Never again. But I just needed you to know how I felt.”
Do you love him? You asked yourself as you looked into his variegated eyes. Did you spend every night thinking about him? Did you ignore the compound, and your friends, this past year just to avoid seeing him again? Afraid that he would have someone new in his life? Did you miss his voice when he says your name? His kisses? His touch?
“Yes,” you answered yourself. Loki’s brows knitted in confusion. “Loki, I understand now. Thank you… what I said to you back then, I was angry, but...” you tried to start.
Loki smiled, placing a kiss on your forehead. “We were both angry and said things we didn’t mean. Me more than you. Please don’t apologize. Least of all to me.” He exhaled as his eyes darted around again. You nodded your head, accepting his grace- forgiving you without having to apologize.
You looked up at his eyes, filled with wonder, “What do you see? When you touch me?” you asked gently. All this time you never thought to ask him.
“I see what I always see. Since the very first time I touched you. Do you remember?” You shook your head no. “They showed a picture of it on the talk show.” Realization sunk in. “I was wiping your tears just like now.”
Loki looked around again and smiled, putting his hands in his pockets. “I see home. I see the woods that used to grow behind the castle walls. Thor and I used to sneak out when we were children and climb the trees. The same woods we used as hunting grounds when we got older. Would you like to see it?”
No one had ever asked you that before. No one had ever had the power to do that before! You nodded and faint green smoke rose from his fingers. Your vision got blurry as the greenhouse was replaced by a dense forest. The trees were tall and luscious. Strands of warm light filtered through the canopy above shining down on the emerald grass below.
“Come with me.” Loki held your hand as he walked further into the woods. Dead leaves and twigs crunched at your feet as a soft breeze blew through the lace of your dress giving you goosebumps. “There’s a glade up ahead where we can just lay on the grass. I used to spend my free time there, letting the hours idle away.” The thought made you smile.
Sure enough, a clearing began to form up ahead. Long, soft grass weaved itself as it grew amongst large wildflowers. The filtered light from the canopy above made the blooms shine like jewels on a bed of velvet.
“I have yet to see anywhere comparable to this place on Midgard,” Loki said circling the glade, a look of homesickness in his eyes. “That metropolis has nothing compared to the splendor of these woods.”
“It’s beautiful.” You said walking towards him. A path of small wildflowers blooming with every step you made.
“Thank you. It is beautiful. But still an illusion. We are still very much in the greenhouse by the compound. You’re just seeing what I’m seeing at the moment.” You reached out towards a tree and felt cold glass instead of bark.
“You see this every time you’ve touched me? Every time we’ve…”
“Hmm,” Loki nodded solemnly. “Sometimes it's these woods. Other times it's my bedchambers in the palace. Yet, every time I’m with you, I see this- my childhood home. I haven’t been back since you left.” Loki bent down and picked up a wildflower that had grown in your stride. “I try to conjure it myself, but it never feels the same. The colors aren’t as vibrant. Not as much warmth.” He placed the flower on your ear, pushing your stray hair back. His hands ventured further down, tracing the beads of your sleeves.
“I’ve missed you,” he admitted.
“You’ve missed me? Or you’ve missed my powers and that they can bring you home?” you asked slightly jilted.
Loki looked deeply into your eyes as he turned you into his embrace. Your hands fell onto his arms and the look he gave you stole your breath away. “You are my home,” he confessed with a passion and honesty you’ve never heard from him before.
He wasted no time. He gave you no warning as he conceded to his urges and kissed you fervidly. The soft lips you were fantasizing about earlier painted a poor picture of his actual kiss. Soft yet demanding. Giving, yet always ravenous. It was as if no time had passed between you two. You were back in his arms kissing him and it felt like he described it. Home.
“All I ever wanted was to have you here in my arms,” he breathed in between kisses. Your hands found their way into his hair, pulling him back to you for another kiss. His arms wrapped selfishly around you, holding you tighter to him.
The heat was too much. It’s been so long since you’ve been held so intimately. But with Loki’s lips devoted to your neck, you would burn gladly. You would die happily on this pyre- as the last thing you would hear would be Loki moaning in your ears.
You were lost in his haze, caught up in the moment with the feel of his body against yours. He pushed you against the tree and you felt the cold glass of the greenhouse against your back.
Loki towered over you, “Tell me you want this,” he whispered onto your noxious skin. “Tell me you’ve missed this and want this with me.” He looked into your eyes, imploring something deep and vulnerable inside you.
“I do, Loki. I want this with you” You moaned holding tight against his grip. You felt his hands gather your dress skirt. Slowly his hands wandered, savoring the feel of your soft skin. His hallucinations were getting more and more vivid. Believable. Or perhaps it was just his kiss, sending you into slight delirium yourself.
Loki hurriedly took off his suit jacket and flung it across the room. He knelt in front of you, in between your parted legs as he raised your left knee above his shoulders- kissing his way up to your inner thighs. “Loki is this real?” you asked looking around you.
“Gods, I hope so,” he prayed, leaving a mark on your thigh. He kissed his way up to your core and licked you through the fabric of your panties. You heard the sheer cotton tear as his fingers brushed up against your eager clit.
Your fingers ran through his hair, pulling when he licked a wide stripe in between your folds. Your knees buckled at the sensation and soon you were reaching around yourself for something to hold. Something to keep you up as Loki lost himself in your wet arousal.
The cold glass of the greenhouse was replaced by the feeling of something warm and sturdy behind you. You looked up to see that Loki’s shadow had positioned himself to where his chest was flushed against your back- his dark hands roaming your body. His arms reached forward to hold your dress up above your waist, aiding Loki in his endeavors.
You felt a kiss on your neck, a quick peck as if he was asking for permission or giving you a warning. You yelped as his shadow quickly lifted you by your hips and Loki pushed both your knees up for his shadow to hold.
“Loki!”
“Yes, my love?” he asked as he continued to latch his mouth and draw on your aching cunt. Loki’s shadow spread your legs. You were splayed open and exposed. Leaving Loki to devote his tongue to you. You reached up and ran your hands through his shadow's hair, pulling as he sweetly kissed your neck.
You couldn’t help the moans and loud whimpers escaping your lips. You bucked your hips onto Loki’s face as your head reared back onto his shadow’s shoulders.
“Come for me, Fox. Let me hear you,” he commanded as he continued his consumption of you. “Let me taste you again. Give me what I’ve been missing. What I’ve been craving.” He said the last words to your tormented clit. You shuddered violently as moans and whimpers of his name fell from your lips. “That’s it. There you go, Vixen,” he cooed as he drank your arousal and lapped around your thighs.
His shadow laid you down gently and you felt the plush pillows and cold blankets from the greenhouse corner underneath you. A warring sensation against the heat of Loki’s body pressed on top of you. A bit of reality mixed in with the illusion Loki was scarcely hanging on to.
His hands fondled your every curve and every soft line. You cupped his face and led him to your kiss. His soft lips quivered when you reached in between your bodies and stroked his clothed erection. So hard and so tight. He breathed a sigh of relief when you unzipped his pants and stroked him.
“Fuck,” he moaned. Your name followed next as he bucked his hips into your hand. “Vixen…tell me you’re mine,” he panted. He kissed you hard, not letting you reply, afraid of your answer. You lined him up next to your expecting cunt and pulled him inside you.
You bit your lip and moaned as the look of pure pleasure radiated through your face. “Tell me…” he tried again as he pushed his hips into you repeatedly.
“I love you, Loki,” you moaned. His eyebrows slanted skeptically, stilling his movements and letting your words sink into his thoughts. “I’ve always been yours.” You admitted.
His kiss was magic. It was passion and life. Remorse and reconciliation all at once. He began his movements again at a steady pace, savoring your tight walls around him. You could feel the ridges on his shaft with every euphoric pull and thrust. His head bowed at the sheer power of your declaration. “Say it again…” he whispered.
“I’m yours,” you moaned.
“…say it…” he bit his lips. “…ag-again…please…” His eyes were closed as he focused on the agonizingly drawn-out movements of his hips to yours.
“I love you, Loki,” you cried as he slammed against you. You squeezed around him finally pushing him off that edge. Loosening the tight hold he had on his pleasure and pouring it all into you. The wave of bliss hit you hard and you came onto his throbbing cock at the same time.
Spent and panting next to you, Loki held you close. His kisses were endless. Your cheeks and jaw would be bruised tomorrow from the affection he was showering you with. His hands were always touching you. Your neck, your face. Your thigh that was wrapped around his legs. You lost all track of time being with the god of mischief and soon the bright sunlight that trickled down to the forest floor was replaced by the harsh glare of the greenhouse overhead lamp.
Loki had little strength left to keep the illusion up any longer. He seemed weary but content. You kissed him fleetingly as you sat up back to reality. “Stay,” he said softly. “The one thing I didn’t say last time…I’m saying it now. Don’t go. Stay.” His hands held yours tightly.
So many feelings were attached to that one word. The weight of it crushing your heart. “I’m not asking you to give up your life. I’m not asking you to stay just for the night either. I’m asking for you to just be,” he smiled at you. “Be who you want to be and I will support you like I should have.”
You crawled back to him, settling your head on your propped-up elbows, while your other hands played with the buttons on his shirt. “And if I decide to go?”
“Then I’ll do the one thing I should’ve done last time but didn’t.” he smiled as you looked at him expectantly. “I’ll follow you.”
A/N: This was a request sent in and I'm sorry to say it took this long for me to finish it. I hope you like it my lovely @gruftiela. I tried to stick to the vibe of the song. But I also added lyrics from one of my other favorite Depeche Mode songs. See if you can spot it 😝.

Pairing: Loki x Fem!Panther Reader
Summary: Loki left for a while, leaving his little kitten hurt and sad.
Warnings: Abandonment issues, angst, injuries, poorly explained touch deprived issues (Which I have but don't know how to put it into words)
Days in the Avenger's tower went swiftly for a while. Your training though was getting tough, especially with the Captain himself drawing the punches. But what really got your body to the point of exhaustion, was the fact that Loki was gone.
Only for a while, he said, but it had been three weeks since he said that and with a small kiss on the hand he went through the portal, along with Thor, who - not helping your anxiety - gave you a sorrowful look before disappearing.
That was the main reason for the harsh training.
Without the god-like help, the team felt a little vulnerable. No one would dare admit it because they still hold a bit of pride, but you just felt it in the air.
Without Loki around, you felt as if there was something off, your routine included him in almost all your activities, like meals, movies, walks, cuddles, even missions. Watching him leave like that, was as if he stole the air around you, as if your skin lacked warmth again.
"He'll be back sweetie" Natasha caught you staring at the burn mark the portal left, "Am I that obvious?" your voice trembled a little, "Your eyes are like those of a kitten that lost its way home" tears streamed down your eyes, as she said the nickname he gave you, his voice started to ring inside your head, remembering all the times he laughed with you, and lulled you softly while petting your head.
After that, you were summoned to a mission of rescue. The plan was simple, you were going to be the distraction, luring the guards away so Natasha and Steve could enter the bunker and rescue the scientist that were abducted by Hydra.
But nothing's ever that simple, isn't it?
The snow made it a bit hard to anchor yourself to the ground in order to doge the bullets, so eventually, more than one just hit non-essential points in your feline body. What you certainly weren't expecting, was a pack of wolves emerging from hidden cages in the snow, those that at the sound of a whistle threw themselves at you.
Everything was just whines of pain, claws and teeth making sharp noises, and blood staining the snow, until everything just stopped moving. Barely, you moved away from the furry corpses, "Y/n, you did amazing" Steve cooed as soon as he saw you limping your way to the inside of the jet, collapsing at his feet, "Stark, have Jarvis call a vet, Y/n's in bad shape" even Natasha began to panic, she hit the floor with her knees when she saw the blood dripping down your body.
"Hang on, you will get through this, remember, he will be back, he expects you there, you can't leave just now" Steve handed her a thick cloth to make pressure with, as she tried to keep you awake, but your breathing was slow and quiet, your body was just too heavy to move.
An aroma of humidity and steel flooded your senses, the hard, rocky ground rubbed against your wounds caused by the injections, chains, and surgical cuts that impeded your movements. Back in prison, the small cubicle where they did experiments on you since you were little.
You could never look like a normal panther at that age, it was more like a pile of skin patched together with fur from different species and dried blood. Claws in no way feline were violently imposed on your hands and feet, there were many forced transformations until your body adopted the modifications, creating the perfect hybrid disguised as a normal animal.
You woke up with panic, still transformed, though it was a small version of the panther the vet patched up. The bedsheets were silky and perfumed with a variety of herbs and perfumes, Loki’s bed. Have you ever heard a cat sob? That’s the sound Loki heard as soon as he made his way inside his room, his eyes landing on the small animal, covered in bloody bandages, “Y/n?” your ears perked up, slowly turning your head to see him, he saw your big eyes with tears falling down, your tiny paws making grabby movements.
Loki dropped the heavy bag he carried and prompted himself towards you, cupping your tiny body in his hands, “Stark called Thor, somehow, saying you were hurt and you didn’t woke up” his words were messy and shaky, just like his hands. “My Kitten, my dearest, I don’t mind this shape of yours, but I would love to tend to your wounds and hug you” he heard you sniff and meow in pain, “I see, I’ll wait then, until you’re ready” he then changed into comfy clothes, summoned a book, placed himself in bed, and gently accommodated you on his chest.
His heart swirled as he watched you curl into a little fur ball on his neck, even more when he heard the faint sound or a purr.
Eventually, after Loki fell asleep, your tiny body moved away from him and returned to its human shape, though ears were still those of a cat. Loki was quick to feel the weight shift in his bed, so he conjured your meds and a glass of water for later.
The sight of your body tied a knot deep in his stomach, bloodied bandages, visible stitches of your arm and torso, legs all bruised up. He couldn’t handle the fact that you were hurt wile he was away, he felt like he failed you.
“Loki?” he turned his head to you, first sight was your teary eyes, “My darling, I want to hug you so much, but I’m afraid I might hurt you” you shook your head and opened your arms to him, which was the cutest thing ever in his head. He pulled you closer, setting one arm under your head, and the other carefully placed along your back, using his magic to soothe your muscular pain due to the transformation.
“You left” was all you could say. It was difficult to articulate nothing more with the whirlwind of things you wanted to tell him. With how much you needed to hug him, to never let you go. You wanted to beg him to never go out again, tell him about your years locked in that cell, how anxiety and abandonment had eaten your nights away.
However, the pain of his departure, and without addressing any word, more than a simple "I will come back soon" prevented you from saying more.
"I’m terribly sorry, my kitten" he didn't say it in his usual voice, he emanated a strange feeling of longing and sadness. "I had to take care of a matter in Asgard, I visited my mother after that, I swear time slipped away and out of my mind, I came back as soon as Thor told me about your state, I didn't even think twice and jumped into the Bifrost" his hand caressed your cheek, taking a few tears with each soft stroke.
“I thought – “ you started, looking down, “That I wouldn’t come back to you?” he finished your sentence, like he was reading your mind, “My sweetest, most beautiful girl, I’ll always come back home to you” the moment he called you his home your pain faded away, air became light and breathable again, like your lungs weren’t rubbing against your bones anymore.
“I missed you so much” his smile grew so wide, he thought he might cry as well, but barely holding in his excitement he made his shirt and jacket fade away, “I’ve noticed, you have a certain adoration to physical touch, it was the way you lean into my hands and my neck, both always bare. Is it a sensory thing? I wondered, but then I looked into your files, all the pain you had to endure, I thought to myself, Woah, she must really like to let me touch her at all, but then I noticed how sad you are when you are not hugged for a while, and how dim you are to ask if it’s okay for you to hug me” he looked into your eyes, kissed your forehead and continued.
“So I thought we could cuddle skin to skin like this, so you can be as amorous as you always are, but in a better way? I don’t know, my mother advised me that this may make you less anxious” he spoke softly, never looking away from your eyes.
The fact that Loki was aware of your emotional dependence on touch, your past, your anxiety, and that he spoke to his mother looking for some way to help you, was about any experience in life. Loki was not like the other men, he worried, watched your habits and difficulties from day to day.
"I don’t deserve you" you drowned in your own abyss for a second, "It is the other way around, dear, it is I who does not deserve your heart" he removed his arm from your hip, just to take your hand and kiss your knuckles, "But I will work to deserve it, and be the man to accompany you for the rest of your life”
“You already are, I have to gather a million pieces of myself in order to be able to love you, the way you deserve” you took his face in your hands, making soft lines on his cheeks with your thumbs, “It’s a good thing I love puzzles, almost, but not as much as I love you” both laughter and kissing sounds echoed in the room, then you lowered your head to his chest, feeling the little soft hairs, his warm skin, and stayed there listening to his heart as his hands caressed you head.

"Alright, I lost this time," Loki huffed as he crossed his arms. "What is it that you want me to do, brother?"
Thor thought about it for a minute, until his face brightened as he figured it out.
"How about this," Thor began. "You will go down to Midgard, not as your Asgardian form, but as a snake."
"And how long will I be down there?"
"About three days, just so father doesn't kill either of us."
"Fine, deal."
And with that, Thor and Loki secretly snuck to the Bifrost during the late hours of the night. Heimdall raised an eyebrow at the two princes, wondering what they were doing.
"What brings you two here this late?" Heimdall inquired. "Don't tell me it's one of your bets again."
"I hate to break it to you," Thor responded as he nudged Loki jokingly, causing Loki to glare at him. "However, Loki lost this time."
"Oh shut up," Loki muttered, side-eyeing his brother.
Heimdall had to hold back a chuckle, however, Loki heard him and also glared at Heimdall. He then cleared his throat in a rather quick manner and returned his attention to both princes. "Alright, whatever the punishment is, tell me and I'll send you down there and make sure you return in one piece."

Once Loki landed on Midgard in his snake form, he landed safely in a forest. He slithers around the forest for a moment to find somewhere to hide before he felt hands grabbing his snake form.
"There's normally no snakes in this forest," an older male mortal commented as he examined the snake. "This snake is also not a type we've seen before...it could perhaps be a danger to keep it around. I'm getting rid of it myself."
The male mortal pulled out a small knife from his pocket, causing Loki in his snake form to panic slightly. 'Oh norns...this is why I never come down to Midgard...'
"No dad, just let the snake go," a younger female mortal protested, grabbing the male's arm. "Don't hurt it, the snake doesn't look harmful or poisonous, just let it go."
"And what if I don't let it go, Y/N?"
She didn't answer as she took the snake into her hands and knelt down to let it slither away. "Dad please...the snake didn't look harmless. What if the snake possibly lost its way and came here for safety?"
The male's look on the girl softened as he placed his hand on her head. He chuckled as she looked at him with innocent eyes. "You've always had a soft spot for animals, just like your mom. Promise me that you'll always have a kind heart for animals."
She giggled. "I promise."
"That's my little girl. Let's go home now."
And with that, the young girl and her father left the forest. She turned around one last time before following her father out of the forest. Loki then slithered out from the foliage of the forest to get a clear glimpse of her from behind.
'I can't believe she saved me,' Loki thought as he gazed at her walking back the way she came from. 'Hopefully...after this bet that I lost, I can meet her and repay her for saving me.'

Present day...
If there was one thing Loki never forgot about, it was about the young woman who saved his life four years prior. He always wondered what she was always up to, did she achieve what she desired? Was she well? There were many questions circling in his head during the past four years.
So, during a feast on Asgard, the feast was slowly dying down. Loki took this chance to leave the palace and he decided to sneak his way to the Bifrost.
"Heimdall," Loki greeted.
"Are you still thinking about her?" Heimdall asked, with a knowing smile on his face.
He nodded. "How is she doing?"
"She's doing well," he answered. "She's grown up into a wonderful young woman now, she's not the young girl from years ago."
A smile creeped onto Loki's lips. "I'd love to have the pleasure to meet her again, if I could."
Heimdall smiled, his golden eyes beaming at Loki. "She's at the same forest where she saved you, so I'll bring you there."
With that, rainbow light swallowed him whole, bringing him across space until he reached Midgard, specifically the town that she resided in. Loki landed back in the same forest he was in a few years prior, reminiscing the moment where he was rescued by her.
Loki used his seidr to change his clothing, from his Asgardian armor to an sleek, all black suit with dress shoes with his short hair slicked back neatly. Before he sauntered out of the forest, he noticed a young woman at a bridge, her body leaning on the railing of said bridge, looking down at the river.
"That must be her..." he whispered to himself.
Quietly clearing his throat and straightening out his suit and posture, Loki built up the courage to walk over to the bridge where the young woman was standing.
As you looked down at the river, there was a light sprinkle of rain dropping into the river. The light rain eventually got heavier, but before you got drenched from a single drop of rain, you looked up and saw a large umbrella covering your head. You turned to glance at the person who held the umbrella and your eyes met the blue gaze of a young man.
"O-Oh, you scared me," you stammered.
"I'm terribly sorry, fair maiden," he replied. "I was taking a stroll in the forest when I happened to see you here at the bridge. It started pouring rain and you didn't have an umbrella, so I rushed over to cover you before you got drenched."
"T-Thank you," you said. "What's your name, kind sir?"
"My apologies, my name is Loki," the young man greeted. "May I have the honor to know your name?"
'Wow, he uses such polite words,' you thought before you responded to him. 'Hearing him speak so politely sounds wonderful...he sounds like a prince.'
"My name is Y/N," you greeted him back. "I believe there is a small gazebo around here, let's make our way over there to shelter ourselves until the rain stops."
"Lead the way, Miss Y/N," Loki replied. "I'll be right behind you."
You then sauntered to the other side of the bridge while Loki followed you from behind, still keeping the umbrella over your head. Loki couldn't help but feel that his heart felt like it was beating out of his chest.
'Heimdall was right, she did grow to be a wonderful woman. But she's also a beautiful woman herself...' Loki thought as he tried to focus on following you to the gazebo. 'I want to know more about her.'
As soon as you and Loki got to the gazebo, Loki closed the umbrella as he stepped inside. He would've used his magic to make the umbrella disappear, but a Midgardian like you would've probably freaked out if you saw him do that. So, he decided to play it safe for now.
You took a seat on one of the chairs that were inside of the gazebo, Loki then took a seat across from you and placed the umbrella next to him, having it lean against the armrest of the chair. There was an awkward silence between the both of you for a while before you cleared your throat to start the conversation:
"Are you from here by chance, Loki?" you asked him.
"No, I’m actually here to visit someone," Loki answered, starting to hesitate a bit. "She…helped me a few years ago from getting hurt in that same forest."
"Oh, is it okay for me to ask what happened? I always take walks in this forest and usually there’s not many people who are in danger."
Loki froze for a moment, not sure how to explain how it was you who rescued him from nearly getting killed all those years ago when he was a little green snake slithering in the forest. ‘I could lie to her, but if I choose to lie, I’m worried that it’ll be harder for me to tell her the truth,’ Loki ponders. ‘I don’t have the heart to hurt her if I choose to lie, so…’
"Well, it was you who helped me," Loki admitted.
You looked at Loki in shock, with one eyebrow raised. "What are you talking about?"
"Do you happen to remember seeing a little green snake in the forest a couple years ago?" Loki began asking you questions slowly, in hopes that you would believe him. You nodded at this question, then he began another one. "If I remember correctly, you were with your father, right? And then your father grabbed that snake from the ground?"
"Yes, I remember that," you recalled, smiling a little at the memory. "I told my dad to let that little snake go because I have a soft spot for animals, I always have."
Once you said that, it confirmed everything that he remembered from that day. "That little green snake was me."
Your eyes widened at his response, again, clearly shocked. "H-How are you that little green snake?"
Loki chuckled, he couldn’t help but find your surprised face cute. "It'll be a very long story, Miss Y/N. Would you like to hear about it?"
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。..・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.・✭・.・✫
Hours had passed since you and Loki were sitting in the gazebo together. You listened to Loki the entire time without interrupting him, being entirely immersed in his story about his time as a snake on Earth due to his bet with his older brother, Thor. While he talked about his bet with his brother, he also talked about where he was from, his home, Asgard and the Nine Realms.
"I always heard of Asgard in stories, I never thought it was a real place until now," you said in awe.
"If you'd like, I can always take you there to see it," Loki offered. "It's a beautiful place, I think you would love to see it."
"Really? You would take me there?" you asked with wide eyes, causing Loki to chuckle.
He nodded. "Yes darling, it's your choice if you want to go. I won't force you if you don't want to."
You blushed at the endearing name he called you. Sure, you just met Loki in just one day, but yet, it felt like you knew him for a long time. Although, technically the first time you two met was when he was a snake. Remembering that Loki was still waiting for your answer, you finally came up with your decision:
"If you don't mind, I'd love to visit Asgard. I want to know more about you."
Loki smiled as he held your hand, relieved that you didn't pull your hand away and held his hand back. "Then I shall grant your wish because I want to know more about you too."
