So a few years ago, I’m hanging with my guy friend and he kind of liked this one girl that was in his psych class and had been trying to get the courage to ask her out for weeks. So one day we’re walking and we see her walk into this coffeehouse and he was like, “dude should I go in there and ask her out?”. To which I’m like, “yeah sure go for it.” So he takes a deep breath and walks into the place real smooth like.

A few minutes pass and i decide to go in because its cold af outside. I look over at the table and my boy is sitting there talking to her, so im like whew finally bc I was tired of trying to give him advice. So I order my drink and turn around and i see her waving at me to come over. Im super confused but i walk over anyway. Before i can say anything, she stands up and goes, “Hey babe, i was wondering when you would show up!” And thEN SHE KISSES ME ON THE LIPS AND WHISPERS, “JUST GO WITH IT”. She then turns to my friend and goes, “Sorry to cut you off like that, what were you saying?” And my friend is just sitting there with the widest eyes ever and I know for a fact that I have the exact same look on my face. So he goes, “oh um, nevermind, ill talk to you later!” & then he gets up and walks out of the place.

Homegirl flops down in the chair and goes, “I am soooooo sorry about that! He was about to ask me out and I just didn’t want to go through that process.” And so I’m like “Uh…no….yeah it’s okay. Can I ask why you didn’t want to go out with that guy?” Because I’m still a good friend and I know he’s gonna want answers & she shrugs and goes, “He wasn’t my type” so I cross my arms, kinda offended bc he actually is a really great guy, and i go, “Well he seemed like a pretty nice guy, what exactly is your type then?” And she looks me up and down and confidently says, “You are.” And im just like w.t.f.!!!!?!?! So after a few moments of silence she sighs and goes, “But honestly, i really am sorry for using you without your permission. Can i buy you a coffee to make up for it?” And im literally still shook but I raise my cup and go, “Uh i uh….i already ordered one.” And she goes, “Oh! Okay, well how about this…” THEN SHE TAKES MY CUP AND WRITES HER NAME AND NUMBER ON IT AND SAYS, “Just in case you ever want me to be your real girlfriend.” She winks at me, and then starts typing away on her laptop as if the entire encounter didn’t just happen.

People in wheelchairs designing living and working spaces for people with mobility issues?

Autistic people actually trying to help other autistic people?

OMG, just thing – wouldn’t ti be awful if people who are now in remission actually helped manage the pain and other symptoms that come with having and treating cancer?

I mean seriously, what on Earth do any of those people really have to add to the discussion? What could they possibly know that an able-bodied neurotypical wouldn’t already know? I mean, experience doesn’t teach all that much!
