The vampire snarls, yanking his arm forward and with it pulling the corpse he had been dragging with him to the front with ease. Served to be stronger than a human, as he could yoink someone much bigger in mass than him around all he wanted.

He’s seen that, he’s been there, done that. Raimundo sits up and drops to his feet, stretching his long limbs, his spine cracking in a few places. 

“But what ya did don’ interest me. ‘s none o’ my business, jus’ like my life ain’t non o’ yers.” And even if he was told, he’d forget all about it at some point anyway.

It startles him a little when Rai leans closer and he finds himself blinking up at the other man, just a tad confused. And then Rai starts speaking again and the mage feels like his heart just stopped beating, stomach twisting with momentary panic at the realization that he’d been found out so easily. He should’ve put more thought into what he said before he said it and how had Rai made the connection so easily between him and his magic and the potions, because people usually don’t–

That thought, along with the hand dropping onto his head, makes Theodore pause. People don’t make that connection. At least normal people, normal humans, don’t. Which can only mean that Rai is…

“You’re not…a normal human either…?” Honey eyes are wide as they stare up at Rai, the slightly rough ( but not uncomfortably so ) ruffling of his hair soothing the fear in his chest almost as quickly as it appeared. 

He glances at the side of Rai’s head, where he taps it, glances at the scars. Understanding flickers through his eyes and the corners of his mouth curls into a tentative little smile. 

“I’m guessing that means you’re not in regular pest control?”

Woops, seems like he hit the nail on the head with his guess. He wasn’t exactly sure if he should be categorizing Theodore as a witch or something else. Though he can’t help but have a feeling of knowing someone from his past who also was a skilled magic user. Old memories that were too fuzzy for him to decipher. Just as most of his memories were. 

“Nay,” he admits easily, his grin widest than it’s been all this time. He found the surprised look of the little... witch cute. Made him want to tease the poor thing. Perhaps he could behave for the evening. “I’m mor’ of ‘em night dwellers. Monsters, some ‘umans like ta call us. I think I fit ‘at category quite well.” Raimundo barks out a laugh, just to cough for a few seconds, and then clear his throat a few times. At least he had the decency to turn away when he coughed. His throat hurt a bit, the old wounds coming back to haunt him again.

“Also nay,” he answers with a more raspy and raw voice than previously, he still smirks. “I hunt my kind, som’times others.” Red eyes flash predatory for a moment as he looks at Theo once more. “An’ som’times ‘umans. 'aven’t tried witches yet.” Probably wouldn’t either, due to his past connections, and that one friendly little witch girl he met. Ah, her name escaped his mind...
