"Oh my gods Markus" Jess said with a snicker, shaking her head at him. Shadow travelling the heels she had been carrying in her hand away. Jess instead wrapped a supporting arm around him and pulled him close to her, tapping his nose with her free hand "How much have you had to drink tonight? And how much of it wasn't water?"

Andy flashed a smile "Ya sorry. Never seen him like this it's very surreal but if you got him I'm sure he'll be fine" was his response as Markus just chuckled "Cereal would be great right now"

"Thanks Andy, you too mate" Jess said with a nod and a quick grin before rolling her eyes affectionately at the humming from Markus, heading out and towards her car. Making sure to keep him upright as she did so with some help from some shadows "You having fun there love?"

Markus chuckled again as he was tugged along by the girl. The view from the outside of these moments must have been funny for some people. Seeing this 5 something girl effectively dragging a guy a few inches taller than she was and managing it just fine. Once the pair got to the car Markus had stopped giggling but still had on a smile that could rival Loki's with how much feral joy he was getting from twirling his fingers in Jess's hair

Lucas would think on her question for a while before he would answer "If I remember right...3 days to get to the only town up that way. Maybe 4 if we take our time" he said looking to the sky for a second or two then continued walking

Astral waited for him to catch up so she could match his pace. “How do you feel?” She asked him sincerely.

As Astral walked to their meeting place, she couldn’t help but feel that something was amiss. In fact, this feeling had lingered ever since that night Lucas came home severely injured. She saw Lucas by the tree so she smiled to greet him.

Seeing Astral, Lucas would nod returning the smile with a grin “Thank you for coming to see me. I wanted to tell you that I was going to leave town” He began with a sad smile on his features

Astral’s face dropped. Leaving? She thought along with a hundred questions in her head. She tilted her head and furrowed her eyebrows in concern. She pursed her lips trying to formulate any response. “Oh, I see.” Was the only thing she managed to respond.

He nodded “Yes I felt it best to tell you, seeing as we have been friends for years. I didn’t feel right just leaving without telling you since I may never see you again” He continued grabbing his left arm, the one that now had a scar from that night, “I am very sorry. The voices are just too strong and I fear they might somehow make me hurt you for not listening.”

Astral pursed her lips trying to process everything he had said. She couldn’t ask him to stay any longer in this town, but she also didn’t want him to leave. “Where will you go?” She asked in a sad tone.

He shrugged "I don't know. The voices have been talking about 'A power to stop the gods', not sure what that means but it's a start" he says moving to hug her "I'm sorry. I'm so very sorry but it will be okay. I will return. That's a promise, one day I will be back"

Astral went into his embrace. “Can I not go with you?” She asked him. He had been her companion for so long. The town had been quiet for a long while. “I want to go with you.” She tightened her embraced, trying to stop her tears from falling.

She couldn't see it due to how close they were but Lucas had a smile "I don't tell you what to do. If you want to come that badly, I wouldn't mind the company I have a feeling that whatever is going on will be quite a long journey for me" he replied returning the tightened embrace before letting go "What are your parents going to think?

Astral lowered her head. She didn’t him to see her teary eyes, but his question brought her back to reality. She felt guilt being their only daughter, but she knew that she would try to find Lucas eventually even if her parents stopped her. She looked up at him. “I’ll take care of them.” She gave him a grin. “You won’t get rid of me that easily.”

Lucas nodded at this, his old self shining through for the first time in a while as he smiled "Okay then. I'll come get you tomorrow afternoon. Pack a bag"

Lucas would be at her place the next day as promised. With a grin on his face and a single bag on his back he would look at Astral's bags then to the girl herself "Okay ya ready? We'll be heading to the town up north first so we need to make sure to have extra blankets" he said patting the bag he had "brought a new tent too just for the trip"

Astral did not notice Lucas had arrived and was startled. She smiled as he told her the plan for their journey. She nodded when he finished. “I guess this is it.” She said getting up to pick up her bags. “Seeing you like this tells me I’m making the right choice.”

Lucas nodded back at her "I would hope you're making the right choice, Astral. Now come on we have a long wake ahead of us" he replied with a soft smile on his face before turning to leave both her room and her house
