My friend Malik needs 500 dollars, or he is going to be arrested. Let me explain.

Freedom Spectrum of East Africa, or FSEA, is a grassroots initiative led by displaced LGBTQIA+ refugees currently living in South Sudan near Gorom Camp and in Kenya at Kakuma Refugee Camp, supported by volunteers in Denmark and the United States.

This is a community of nearly 470 queer refugees, including children. These are people who have fled from persecution, violence and discrimination in their own homes across East Africa. And even after fleeing, and building community, they still face ongoing discrimination, threats and acts of violence within refugee settlements.

This morning, my friend Malik had to take someone to the hospital after they fainted.

The bill is 500.

As my friend, and the friend he brought to the hospital, are queer, they are being given no mercy and no patience. The bill needs to be paid today, or they will literally bring him to the police.

This is FSEA's emergency medical fund. You may notice that the overall goal of this fundraiser is $2,150. While I encourage you to be a repeat donator (It's good for you, do it.), today the goal is $500.

What’s going on here is that there will be comments on your posts saying stuff like they can’t message you for some reason like the screenshots above. If you engage, they typically claim they "accidentally reported" your account and provide a link or a contact (often on Discord or via email) to "resolve" the issue. They will try to trick you into logging into a fake site that steals your password or ask you to pay "fees" to unblock your blog. 

ITS A PHISHING SCAM, DO NOT REPLY OR CLICK ANY LINK SENT BY THEM!! STAFF WILL NEVER REACH OUT LIKE THIS, AND DO NOT TRUST OTHER PEOPLE CLAIMING THIS! STAFF WILL ONLY COMMUNICATE WITH YOU IN OFFICIAL EMAILS OR ON YOUR DASHBOARD!

TLDR: If you see comments claiming someone "can't message you" or "accidentally reported your account," ignore them because it is a phishing scam designed to steal your password or money. Tumblr Staff will never contact you through post comments or ask you to move to Discord, they only use official emails or dashboard notifications! Do not click any links or reply—just report and block the account immediately to stay safe!

NEVER MESSAGE BACK OR ENGAGE

Staff have official badges, so it’s easy to identify!

If you have already replied:

Step 1: Block the account.

Step 2: DO NOT provide any screenshots of your account settings or "verification codes."

Step 3: Change your password and turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) just to be safe.
