also another idea where the twins break one of Stan’s belongings, yet he doesn’t scold them at all. Their mishap reminds him of his own lifelong mistake that he’s spent his whole life trying to fix.

He hid the fact that his wife had brought up divorce, brushing off their fight merely as a result of her materialistic desires.

When he realized that, he tried to keep distance and it was also the time when he realized that he did want him so much.And he made a bold move.That happened...stfo was willing to give his friend himself as a comfort and they both want that.

However,It was fids' guilty made him erased their memory after that.He didn’t want to be unfaithful to his wife. Even after they’d fought viciously and she’d threatened to divorce him, he ran away—but he still clung to the fantasy that everything could go back to normal.

Loving a character doesn’t mean I’ll only create positive content about them. Those darker, negative facets are what give a character depth and dimension. Some fans only fixate on a character’s likable traits or appearance, and they’ll make excuses for every single one of their actions—regardless of whether those actions hold up under personal morality or broader narrative ethics. To put it simply, they only want to uphold the character as pure and righteous. There’s nothing wrong with that; it’s just their own way of loving the character.

As for me, I love all sides of him—the bright and the bleak alike. I find his darker storylines fascinating, because they reveal the deepest core of his personality. If you only take my negative interpretations of him as my entire view of Stanford, you’ll mistakenly assume I hate him. The truth is I adore every part of him. My intense, all-consuming fondness sometimes makes my wording come off too extreme; whether I’m using overly affectionate nicknames or harsh jabs (or creating dark art about him), it all stems from how fully immersed I am in this character. This kind of passionate fandom culture is pretty common in fan communities where I’m from, though it can easily cause misunderstandings for outsiders.

This scene subtly hints that Emma was the one who asked Fidd for a divorce. This is precisely why he returned to Ford early, looking defeated and desperate.

He made no attempt to fix his relationship with Emma or make up for forgetting the Christmas gifts. He should have stayed for his children to give them a proper Christmas, but he chose instead to evade all family conflicts and head back ahead of schedule.

Furthermore, I believe “forgetting the gifts” was merely a cover-up. He used this excuse to hide his divorce from Ford. When Ford asked for details, he vaguely claimed the family dinner went nothing like he had expected, indirectly shifting the blame onto Emma.

Yet this incident was only the trigger. The essential reason for their broken marriage was that he had neglected his family entirely throughout the year while working alongside Ford.

He was undeniably guilty, knowing most of the fault belonged to him, and that his family estrangement was deeply connected to his bond and work with Ford. That was why he avoided telling Ford the truth, brushing everything off with ambiguous excuses about Emma’s materialism and his own unmet family expectations.

He came back to Ford with clear inner hopes. He craved emotional comfort and a new home that could accept him. Therefore, he deliberately acted vulnerable to gain Ford’s sympathy, driven by obvious selfish motives.

In the following scene, Ford yielded and indulged him, offering exactly what he wanted: a warm festive atmosphere, eggnog, and the snowman activity Ford had already planned in the initial scene.

Fidd was fully satisfied by everything he took from Ford. He knew exactly what he was craving all along. Every sense of warmth and belonging he could not find at home was fulfilled entirely by Ford.

I even suspect that his brief return to Emma was rooted in guilt. Though he claimed he expected a warm family atmosphere, his actions told a different story. It is obvious which meant more to him: his family, or staying by Ford’s side.

In the later footage, Bill begins deliberately stirring up conflict between Fidd and Ford.

His line “have it on good authority” most likely refers to one of two possibilities:

① Bill observed Fidd’s suspicious secret behavior regarding the portal, or read related content in Fidd’s notes;

② Bill accessed Fidd’s memories and learned all of his inner thoughts.

Tragically, all the expectations Fidd had placed on Ford began to crumble because of Bill’s manipulation.

Bill also mocks Fidd for being a third wheel. XD

Meanwhile, Ford cares deeply about Bill’s attitude and feels upset whenever Bill ignores him — this is part of Bill’s manipulative pattern, whether intentional or unintentional. Ford trusts every word Bill says unconditionally, even when those words plant suspicion in his mind against Fidd.

In the end, Fidd placed all his emotional hopes and attachments on someone he could never truly have.
