Honestly I always see PJ hats like this in art but I don't think I've ever seen a hat like that in real life except at Christmas, but something about it felt both traditional somehow and also right! A year ago, I spent 5-6 months in Blender making this video! It was so fun, and I learned a TON, including this pixelated style that I really wound up liking. I was kinda sad when it semi-flopped, can't lie! But, I do it for the love of the game~ <3 One of my favorite parts wound up being 2:03, because I'd had the idea in my head. I'd be listening to this song in my car imagining what I wanted the video to look like, and I managed to pretty well recreate what I saw in my head, so that was very neat!! If you check it out, you should comment your favorite part too, that'd be awesome!

posting this made me realize exactly how old I am. Does anyone who isn't me remember these ads??????
I wanted to see if I could make pixel art in Blender! I learned how to do pixelated renders, and THEN I decided I wanted to create a background with it for a music playlist that actually changed instead of looping. I love those "POV" type playlists, "POV you're a kid who spent too much time online" etc, LOL So, I figured out how to make it snow, and make the snow accumulate. The snow IS snowflake shaped up close! You can even see them pass close to the camera every now and then! The snow falls gently via particle simulation and accumulates not only on the ground/road, but also on the trees, lamp posts, and the house! It was a huge goal of mine to be able to "fake" pixel art in blender, and this was a great start!
I got the idea for this after a rare snow event in my area (we don't get snow every single year, but sometimes we get several inches!) I was living in an older established neighborhood at the time, with many mature trees and lovely yellow streetlights, and the glow of it all made me really want to capture it in animated format.
I do some 3D animation too! This was one of my first times working with Caine as a character in an animation context, it was fun! There were tons of things I could improve upon, I'm sure, but it was fun to make!

Jax's turn for PJs! He doesn't look super pleased. I wonder who was brave enough to wake him up... This was fun to make! I found that I like drawing Jax, but he's really hard to draw for me because I struggle with long legs. There are things I'd change about it now, but I'm trying to teach myself to finish art pieces and let them be finished, as opposed to trying to "fix" them and redoing and redoing and redoing and never actually posting them! If you want to possess Jax in PJs for yourself, he's available on many objects in my [TeePublic] shop!

omg don't let her melt, help her! part of my "Ice cream" series! While she also likely won't be available at your local ice cream truck any time soon (will someone PLEASE inform me if they ever actually do this, I'll buy 70 of them), she IS available NOW on my [TeePublic] page! I didn't want to line around her eyes because I feel like those ice cream bars don't usually have details like that, but she kinda looks like a South Park character now oops LOL
