"i’ve been meaning to introduce myself, i’m alastor." / alastorbot bc it's funny. To Me
im still losin it over this, tbh
He was high. Higher than he thought he was. High out of his goddamned skull. He had to be.
Right? He had to be. There was no other explanation for the fact that Alastor was looking at what appeared to be a perfect reproduction of himself. No mirror necessary, folks!
...Except then he remembered whose bedroom he was currently held hostage in.
No, I'm Alastor, you're an imposter.
—was his kneejerk response, but he caught himself before the words could pass his teeth. Anyone else would've been able to visualize the lightbulb going off in his head as a thought crossed his mind. Vox definitely would have. But Vox wasn't here. This thing was. One ear twitched, his expression frozen for a moment as he ran through his ideas in rapid succession. He sat back in the chair, looking around, weighing his options. Was Vox capable of building something like this? Was the next thought, before he immediately shut it down. Of course he was; Vox's entire body was some synthetic-mechanical... thing. He'd bitten into it enough times to know that for a fact. He let his powers reach out, just enough to feel the electromagnetic field surrounding his duplicate's internal workings.
Alastor's neck cracked as his head snapped back towards ...himself? (Strong question mark?) Alastor, looking over the machine for a moment. A perfect reproduction, yes. At least at a glance. But he wondered how deep the similarities went. Knowing Vox... it was only synthetic-skin deep.
His grin spread wide, creasing the corners of his crimson eyes. His nerves hummed beneath his skin, but he pushed the feeling down, schooling his expression back into something polite, if not quite calm. Mostly; if the pupils were dilated a little too wide, so what?
"Oh, I've heard so many things about you. All good, of course! ʜᴀʜᴀ! Pleasure to be meeting you, Alastor, quite a pleasure! I'd shake your hand but as you can see, I'm a little tied up at the moment, ʜᴀʜᴀ!" His words were punctuated by that tinny, performed laugh as he rolled the chair a little closer, giving a small shimmy of the shoulders as if to emphasize the point that not only were his hands tied behind his back, but cables wrapped around him, securing him firmly into the seat.
Despite that fact, Alastor leaned forward against his bindings, just a little so that he could look up at his doppelgänger. If the wound in his chest ached from the applied pressure, he didn't show it.
"You know, I really must ask! What is your business with Vox? I mean, I thought you two were rivals," his voice dropped low and conspiratorial as he leaned in a liiittle more, and this was the exact moment where his grin turned sharp and full of mischief, the kind of excitement bubbling beneath his skin that made him feel like he was vibrating, shoulders shaking as he stifled a little giggle. "...but you don't usually find a man in his rival's bedroom, after all. Unless, of course..."
Another little shoulder shimmy to indicate the response, his voice now at the volume of a stage whisper. Low, but not too low. He wondered how long he could get away with this before Vox noticed his little... whatever this was had walked out of it's cage!
"...you're being tortured! But I can't imagine someone with your reputation would be held captive here like some kind of common sinner."
