sense and silence

“Are you kidding.” Alaska screamed out as she held her shirt off her body. “It’s whatever. I’ll live.”

Hope did her best to breath as she hot liquid dripping on her. “It’s fine.. I’ll live.” She breathed out now as she looked to the woman. “Are you. Okay I mean.”

Mikael had tried to take a step back to avoid the scalding coffee.  Thankfully it mostly hit fabric but still felt hot against his skin.  "It’s okay,“ he said looking up to the person that he had just bumped into.  "I’m alright.  It’s just coffee.”  He was only saying that because he had avoided being burned.

“I have plenty of clothes and trust me, these will just need a quick wash to get rid of the coffee. Always got a good supply of clothing that isn’t fancy. Love a good old sweatpant.” Maddie chuckled. “I’m perfectly fine.”

Emmy laughed, “"It’s very weird.” She frowned, tilting her head to the side. “They’re good. It’s my most favorite thing in the world. I love fries with chili on them. But gravy is better m'dude.” She grinned, nodding her head, “Yes of course I do. I don’t mind at all. I promise, cooking is my happy place. You probably do but I can buy those for you, it’s not a big deal.” She said with a chuckle then scrunched up her nose, “I don’t blame you. Beets are gross.” Emmy grinned, pulling out her phone and bringing up her pictures with Jake and showing them to her. She smiled, nodding her head. “Yeah. I love all my cousins but she’s the one I’d do anything for.”

Jake had never been much of a morning person, even when he was human, and it seemed to be magnifying as time went on. Except now, he had the excuse of time at the theatre to use even if it wasn’t always the truth. Caffeine didn’t do much for him, but it was nice to pretend. Inhaling sharply through his teeth, Jake instinctively jumped backwards at the impact. “Jacket’s a little warm now, but other than that I’m alright.” He responded after a moment, shrugging off the article in question. “You okay?”

Bonnie went to dry the liquid off of her shirt with her magic, but remembered at the last second that she didn’t have magic right now. It was something she forgot at times when she wasn’t using her magic lately. She instead dropped her hand and grabbed the napkins from her. “It’s fine. It’s like I’m in a hot tub,” she joked a bit, patting at the spot on her shirt.”

Emmy raised an eyebrow, “Cereal? Is your guilty pleasure food? Mine is french fries with gravy and cheese.” She said, shrugging her shoulders. At Rachel’s offer she quickly shook her head, “No, no. It’s fine. I don’t mind at all. Cooking is my happy place, especially when I’m stressed. Just like..give me a key to your apartment or whatever and I’ll bring them over and put them in your freezer. You just gotta tell me what you like though.” She said, shrugging her shoulders. Emmy smiled when Rachel asked about her boyfriend. “Uh, yeah. His name is Jake Salvatore, he’s a little older than me and he’s an actor at the theatre. I have pictures on my phone. I take so many, it probably annoys him sometime.” She said, feeling her pockets for her phone. “They’re not as messy and they’re easy.” She grinned when Rachel said Harmony could come, “Oh, I know. Her and I have always been the closest though. There’s such a big gap between her and her siblings and then between me and my siblings, I’m the only girl so we just kind of latched onto each other. I’d like for you to be part of it though.”

Diana tried to move out of the way, but that didn’t work. She immediately pulled her wet shirt away from her body to keep from getting too burned. “It’s okay. Accidents happen. I probably would have done it to myself at some point today.”

Maddie had been standing in line waiting for her coffee when suddenly hot coffee spilled over her body. After the initial shock, she just brushed off the coffee and shook her head. “All good, it’s alright. I don’t think it’s that hot that it could burn me thankfully.” She smiled taking the napkins to wipe off the coffee.

Dean had been about to move out of the woman’s way, but he was apparently too slow and instead, she crashed into him, spilling the coffee all over him. Luckily, his jacket took most of the damage and kept him from getting burned. “I’ll live,” he said, wiping some of it off his uniform. “Maybe you should invest in one of those travel mugs that have a lid and stuff.”

waiting in line to get her coffee next, she wanted to say something as she noticed the other not paying attention but sadly it was already to late. “Hey, no it’s fine don’t worry about it we all are a little clumsy at times.” she said smiling as she took the napkin and used it.

“He wont press charges. He’ll never know what hit him, I promise.” He gave her his most charming smile.

“I stress eat too! I eat all the time though, especially if it’s something sweet.” She grinned, nodding her head. She laughed, shaking her head. “I’ll happily cook for you. I’ll even make you weekly meals or whatever. I literally don’t have a life. I hang out with my cousin, go to work, go to school, bother my brother at work and hang out with my boyfriend. It’s a good life but anytime I get to cook, I’m happy.” She smiled, shrugging her shoulders. When Rachel sat down next to her, she perked up at the mention of sheet masks. “I love sheet masks. They’re probably my favorite. They’re simple.” She chewed her lower lip as a thought popped into her head, “Hey, if this goes ok and you’re not entirely sick of me when this is over, can we do this again and I invite my cousin, Harmony? I promised her that us hanging out wouldn’t make me put her on the back burner and I like keeping my promises to people and plus I think she’d really enjoy it.”

Emmy nodded her head, “Uhh, yeah. I stress bake and I happen to stress eat sometimes.” She said, shrugging her shoulders. “Lots of take out can be bad for you. I strongly suggest not doing that. I’d..” Her voice trailed off. She didn’t want to seem like she was overly excited and immediately come across as annoying. As Rachel rattled off what she had, a smile grew across Emmy’s features. he nodded, setting her stuff on the floor and sat down on the couch, pulling her knees up to her chest, a nervous habit she had. “Are they the sheet masks?” She asked, resting her chin on top of her knees.“

“He’ll never know it even happened. I’ll even heal him, it’ll be fine. I’ll put up a barrier spell after you leave if it’ll make you feel better.” He offered with a smirk.
