I crave a love so deep the ocean would be jealous.

And I hope after all is done, you stay awake at night, crying like my wrists.

Most days my demons are silent, but when they talk, oh, God, how they scream.

They call me heartless but what they don’t know is I’ve lived and seen the world and it turned me cold. When I’m acting like I don’t care just know I’m dying on the inside trying to be strong on the outside because I don’t want to let my guard down and be vulnerable again. I shut down and become emotionless to protect myself. I don’t want the world to know what’s wrong and I can’t let anyone knew in, I refuse to give someone the power to hurt me again. I’m sorry if you get hurt on my sharp edges, maybe it is selfish of me, but I’m pushing you away so you can’t disappoint me, everyone does in the end and to be honest with you, I don’t know if I can handle getting broken again, I managed to rebuild myself this time but I built the walls back taller for a reason, so no one could be let in. If you really do care understand that this is me doing what’s best for the both of us.

I’d say I’ll drink to that, but honestly I’ll drink to just about anything.
