And my heart's too drunk to drive

Pulling her a little closer when she leaned her head against his shoulder he tilted his head down. Breathing in the soft sent of her hair as she spoke. “I know.. I just.. I want to be here with you.” he mumbled in a low tone. She was right though. they would be talking every day. And he was only going to be gone for a little bit. Then he would be home for a good few weeks before he even had to think about leaving again. “Okay… I’ll go..” he sighed as she shifted away from he a bit so that he could look down at her. “But  you have to promise me that if anything… and I do mean anything happens while I am gone and you feel like its too much for you or that you need me. That you’ll call.” he spoke in a serious tone. “I’ll be on the first plan back, no matter when it is..” he added firmly as he locked his blue eyes with hers. 

"I want you here too but I can handle being alone for a little while." Rachel said with a sigh. It was the truth. It would be a bit of a drag to not have Brody around for any amount of time, but she was a big girl and she didn't want to depend on him completely. "Nothing is going to happen. I'm going to be at home watching reruns and going to work. That's all." she smiled a little as she slid her arms over his shoulders. "But, if anything does happen I of course will call you. I don't want you to worry about me though."

Brody looked up when he heard the light sound of Rachel’s voice from the door way. Turning his head he sighed again as he crossed the space between them. “I know you said you’d be okay,” he stated as his arms moved to pull her in to him from her place. “But I feel crappy about leaving you.” he added hugging her tightly to his body as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Its all still pretty new.. I should really be here with you.” 

Rachel sighed into Brody as she wrapped her arms around him. It was her safe place and it would be hard not having him around, but she knew that she couldn't keep him home. It was selfish and she would have to adjust to him not being there all the time through the process anyways. "Please don't feel bad." she pouted a little as she put her head on his shoulder. "We'll be talking everyday. I'm going to be fine. You should go."

Leaving On a Jet Plane // Brochel

Rachel consistently had one thing on her mind as of late: her future child. It was terrifying and stressful. She knew her whole life was going to change but it was harder for her to process than she thought it should have been. She knew she had Brody there for her, and he was treating her more amazingly than he already did but she still couldn't feel relaxed for one second.

Rachel.. yeah things are great.. but they wouldn’t be half as great if you weren’t in my life. You make everything I do worth it. You’re my rock.. the beacon that guides me home after a really shitty day. I would never give that up.. and I would never leave you alone with this. 

I love you.

Whoa.. Rach.. Why would you think I wouldn’t do this with you.. I love you. I’m not going to just walk away because something unplanned happened.. I’m not going to leave you with this on your own.. 

I just.. I don't know. Everything is so great for you right now I thought you'd want to focus on that.

Pregnant… seriously.. wow… wow.. 

I'm going to be keeping it, Brody. I'm sure you're aware of that already. I'm not comfortable with giving it up for adoption and It's not as if I'm not able to raise it, so it'd be ridiculous to do so. If you.. If you don't want to be involved that's you're choice but.. I rather do this with you.

Baby.. just.. come here and breath. We’ll both sit down. And you can tell me whats going on. Because I am kind of starting to worry that its something bad. 

Okay, okay. I guess I have to just.. Say it. Um.. I'm pregnant.

Yeah.. sure.. Is everything okay?

Everything is fine. I hope. You may want to sit down for this. Or not, I don't know. It's probably better if you sit down because that's what you're supposed to do for big news. Which I never quite understood, I mean.. What are you going to do, faint? Just because I tell you some life changing news you're going to pass out or something. Which is ridiculous, you know? I don't think that ever really happened except for in old timey movies where the mother hears about something and faints. I'm sorry, I'm rambling.

I don't want it to be over either. I like having you to myself.

Brody was beyond annoyed that his flight had gotten in late. Usually he didn’t get upset about that kind of thing. After all they couldn’t control everything. But it had been three weeks since he had been home. Three weeks with out the love of his life. And he was a little anxious to get home. His foot tapped against the floor of the cab as they maneuvered through the light traffic. He wondered if Rachel would be up when he got home. He half hoped she was.. but then again he knew how busy she was. And she really needed her sleep. Licking over his lips he watched as the scenery whizzed by the car. A small smile slipped on to his lips when he started to see all the markers that he was close to home.

Rachel's eyes fluttered slightly when she heard the door open, but ignored it thinking it was part of a dream. She had been in and out of sleep for who knows how long and everything was blending together. It wasn't until she felt someone kissing her that she realized he was finally home. Her eyes opened and seeing him put a huge smile on her face. She slid her arm from her side to his shoulder and leaned in to kiss him again.
