I like the idea of Kevin not being particularly well liked by the other Ravens.

You know because Kevin’s an arse on a good day, a well meaning one but an arse nonetheless. And also because I can’t imagine anyone of them not being jealous of his position in the Nest.

The Nest is a cult, Riko is there King and Kevin’s not Riko’s equal but he’s the closest thing he has to one. No one can convince me that the Ravens wouldn’t kill to have that kind of honour bestowed upon them.

And the worst part about it is Kevin is that good. In Jean’s own words, Kevin is arrogant but he has earned every right to be. No one can deny Kevin’s skills but I know there’s definitely someone out there who thinks they can outclass him.

That they deserve Riko’s attention more than he does. And why does Kevin get to be so beloved by their King? To stay in his dorm, be given such prestige and power and be deemed more important than them.

Because of course none of them know how Riko actually treats Kevin and just how little power Kevin actually has. They just see a spoilt brat who’s had everything handed to him on a silver platter.

And then Kevin leaves.

He takes that honour that they would l have destroyed themselves to receive and he leaves. He makes a mockery out of their King for the whole world to see and joins the worst team in the nation just to spite him.

Their King who is in mourning and won’t even entertain the idea of replacing him and this is how Kevin treats him?!

Kevin who dares to keep walking the earth and playing Exy with that disgusting Queen tattoo on his face as their King lies dead in the ground.

That but it’s Riko.

He’s given a large public funeral but much like the Moriyama’s themselves it’s all for show and his grave is empty. He gets cremated and it’s Kevin who’s given his ashes because no one else wanted them.

All that’s left of Riko is inside an urn that’s tucked away on Kevin’s desk by his history textbooks. It takes all the self control Neil and the others have not to knock the urn over.

Sometimes its presence is a comfort to Kevin like when he gets plastered after the funeral and just huddles in the corner hugging it.

Other times it’s as if Riko himself is in the room and Kevin gets really on edge and restless. It takes Neil or Andrew making a big a show of taking the urn away and leaving it at Court or Wymack’s before Kevin can relax again.
