This will be long-winded and not really a question, but bear with me ;_;
I am so in love with your art because not only is it pretty to look at, but it is making me feel lots of things.
For example, the dancer Astarion one? I am so in love with the juxtaposition of the seductive act, the lavish jewellery, and his ribs and hipbones protruding visibly. He's expected to lure and perform while starving, and it's just so perfectly depicted!
Then there's the Zevran surrounded by treasure... Ugh.
I am putting together a wall of angst in my new flat with my favourite video game characters, and these two prints will go on. No other artist captures the feelings of the backstories so perfectly and translates it into traditional style paintings like you do.
I can not afford to commision you directly, but if you ever feel like releasing some painfully beautiful art prints of Fenris, Anders and Gale, I will be the 1st to order! They also have tragic backstories, but I cannot find any prints that reference those directly either, which is a massive shame.
Seriously. The last time a painting affected me this much emotionally, I was standing in a museum, eyes glued to every detail of something created centuries ago.
thank you anon for this kind message <3
i appreciate you mentioning me capturing the backstory! because i always try to be respectful to the character and their personality and the backstory, which sometimes feels a bit hindering and containing in the ways of how i can portrait a character, but even though they're fictional and i can't hurt them, it feels like the right thing to do for me.
i really hope inspiration strikes me for fenris, too! i wanted to make a bigger illustration with him for so many years now, but nothing hit me yet, haha. (i also recently replayed da2 but the game was so bugged that i technically was romancing him, but also kinda not, so i feel like i've missed a few things there).
i'm happy to hear that my art gives you the same feeling like those century old paintings! <3
