🍊 Lotto {Baek&Ra}

Baekhyun has a dilemma; his body must assume he is starving. He is so uncomfortable, but he doesn’t want to make any food right now. So, he decided to go out into the world! This is one of his favorite activities. The little convenience stores have meals you can stick into the microwave! Baekhyun doesn’t need to stick anything in a microwave because he can heat things up with his powers, but he wants to use the microwave. It’s like the power of the sun in a box! So, he adventures out into the world, destination locked.

Once his feet hit the pavement, Baekhyun began his quest. While walking to the convenience store, he watched everyone on the street. There are so many different kinds of people, Baekhyun wonders if it’s normal to watch people act in their typical environment. He spotted a schoolmate before he could get to the small convenience store. Ra greeted him and bowed respectfully; Baekhyun immediately showed the same respect to his new acquaintance. He’s never been to the casino before… What an excellent opportunity to experience something new! Baekhyun also wants to get to know Ra more, so this situation has two wins. Although, he is curious if that is considered a ’win-win scenario’ because Baekhyun has two of the wins so far.

“Yeah! I would love to go! I haven’t been there before,” Baekhyun smiled excitedly. His appetite has been forgotten. He will probably remember his hunger once he sees the snacks at the casino, but he’s just too excited right now. Baekhyun has heard a little about casinos and knows they have games in the building. He’s so happy to hang out with Ra and play some fun games!

His eyes are soft as they lay upon the other man- smiling at Baek as he agrees to come with to the casino. Maybe he will like it there- with all the sounds and lights it is kind of like an amusement park (for adults, that is). Ra gestures the other to come as they walk and he pops some anti-migraine pills and caffeine pills to go with it as they do.

“”It belongs to an acquaintance of mine, Kai, do you know him?“ The tuanji asks his new(old) acquaintance. Wondering whether Baekhyuhn will remember Peter at all sometimes other people are just fleeting memories after all and not something that sticks around.

The casino was brightly lit and the first thing they see is the bar on the right and the slot machines on the left. Ra makes a straight line to the bar and leans over it as he chats up the girl behind the bar- while he is painfully gay it is still okay to flirt a little. Smirking at her and then getting two cocktails- he hands one to Baekhyun. It is five PM somewhere in the world after all! “Come on, have you ever played?” he asks and is prepared with a bag with coins and hands Baekhyun a few as they end up at the slot machines. The one Ra led them too is Jurassic Park themed.

Somebody that you used to know- It had been quite the moment when that song came out since it had spoken to him. The plucks on the guitar had become a familiar melody to the tuanji. “Peter, indeed.” The other was smarter than others might give him credit for. That was for sure.

Waiting for the other to recognize him and then chuckling as he looked back at the slot machine and popped in another coin. “Remember someone with eyes like mine, a tad taller though. The world was a lot smaller being so tall.” another laugh as he watched the little pink shoes line up in the machine and a ping ping ping signalled he had won. Delighted he collected the coins into a plastic cup and then looked back up at Baekhyun- expectantly.

He took the machine next to it (Barbie-themed, this was the movie section of the casino) and pulled the lever as well as he watched Baekhyun play- his eyes darted to the pictures of his own machine and when he did not win he put in another coin and pulled the lever without looking, having the actions be ingrained in his muscle memory by now. “You won! Yeah, that was the small prize but you won good job.” There was no skill in the game but still- he grinned at the other.

Mingi had a lot of time to think over what had gone on between himself and Ra once he'd been placed into a new body. A lot of adapting, getting the businesses back under control, figuring things out with Micha and Emilia...then of course he'd been spending an oddly large amount of his time with Zitao as well, which distracted him, but he didn't forget about Ra.

The ixtab always had concerns about his long-time friend. And long-time ex-girlfriend, apparently, which walked the razor's edge of amusement and annoyance. Of course, Ra was not--that woman, technically, anymore...but damn, why hadn't he been told this earlier? Grumbling something under his breath as he made his way to his friend's dwelling, knocking a few times before just...walking in. Ra was expecting him (unless he'd forgotten in the past 20 minutes he'd taken to get here) a bag with some coffee and baked goods in one hand, the other holding a small paper sack (he hadn't forgotten Seth).

"Hey," Mingi hadn't even looked up yet, toeing off his boots at the door before finally looking up to see if Ra was even in the main room, though he spotted Seth just under some blankets on the arm of the couch. Looked cozy. Setting the coffee and such on the table, the ixtab stepped over to the snake, pulling out what looked to be a freshly dead rat that he held close to the white reptile. He'd rather have Seth eat it quickly before Ra popped in, unsure whether it'd give him a migraine or something if he saw a dead rat there.

Anyway, once the snake was fed he went to the kitchen to wash his hands, "Yeomra? Are you asleep?"

Laying in the tubn the tuanji muttered a come in as he was scratching off lottery tickets, there was a significant stack next to him (scratched, one smaller stack with winning tickets and a larger one with no luck). “Hellooooooo” he greeted lazily from the bathtub, he was tired after another night of no sleep so he just lazed around today. No need to be a busy-body.

He got out of the tub and quickly put his bathrobe on as he grabbed his three stacks of tickets and walked into the main room where he found Mingi and Seth.

“I wasn’t sleeping, I was in the tub- did you feed Seth?” he eyed the snake and made kissy faces at her before putting the tickets on the table and peeking into the kitchen. “Hi” he greeted again, looking sleepy. “what did you bring for food?” the man asked, still yawning a little as he wandered back to the livingroom and made more kissy faces at Seth.

a selection of some of my favorite underrepresented situations and actions for one of my favorite tropes! feel free to add + REVERSE to any of the prompts to change the situation and provide context as necessary. do not add to this list.  

CRADLE : sender picks up the injured / unconscious receiver and holds them close to their chest, carrying them to safety. 

GUARDIAN : facing down a threat, sender pushes receiver back with an arm, moving to stand in front of them and protecting them with their own body.

TENDER : receiver wakes up to sender caressing them gently; a hand carding through their hair, brushing hair off their forehead, a hand on their cheek, a thumb swiping under their eye.

SHELTER : seeing a threat barreling toward them (such as a storm, the shockwave from an explosion, or a building they’re in collapsing), sender holds the injured / incapacitated receiver close, turning their back to the threat to bear the brunt of the impact instead of the receiver.

FLICKER : sender thinks they’re too late to save receiver and begins to mourn them / sinks in defeat and grief, holding them close, only to find through a simple action (a cough, a twitch of a hand, a murmured word) that they haven’t left them after all. 

DELIRIUM : receiver wakes up to sender’s relief, only for receiver to not believe it’s really sender (that they’re imagining sender or that they don’t think sender would come for them) or that they’re finally safe. 

CONCEAL : both muses have been injured or have fallen ill, though sender keeps their injury / illness secret in favor of taking care of receiver. however, as receiver gets better, sender’s injury / illness worsens from lack of care, and they wind up collapsing, their injury / illness fully revealed. 

GUIDE : sender has been injured, but their skills are needed to help with the muses’ current situation (an escape plan, tending a wound, or diffusing a weapon, for example). sender has to walk receiver through the procedure, all the while trying to stay conscious. 

SAVIOR : receiver is at the mercy of a threat, and all seems lost, only for sender to suddenly burst in and come to their rescue, bearing weapons and all the protective spirit they can muster, to the relief / confusion / anger of receiver.
