In honour of pride month I want to remind people that neopronouns and xenopronouns aren’t that hard to use.
To put it in a more easy to understand way,Neo/Xenopronouns are used instead of the regular he/she/they,it is a substitution. For example We are going to use paw/paws pronouns as our pronouns and instead of “she went to the park with his friends and they got themself an ice cream.” it would be “paw went to the park with paws friends and paw got pawself an ice cream.” it’s an easy case of just replacing the pronoun with the neo/xenopronoun.
And while I understand some people don’t understand and may never fully understand why people would use these pronouns instead of he/she/they, it is important to still respect someone’s identity and pronouns and use them when you can! This is still an important part of someone’s life and it’s important we are all comfortable in our communities and body and don’t spread hate towards things we don’t fully understand.
Many people who use neo/xenopronouns do use he/she/they pronouns as well but it’s important to not forget about their other pronouns just because they use he/she/they pronouns as well and it’s important that when a person doesn’t also use he/she/they pronouns that we don’t use he/she/they pronouns for them as it’s not how they identify, even if you don’t understand you can always ask the person questions on how their pronouns are used :D
(I’m open to any questions people may have and I will try to answer the best I can,I myself use any and all neo/xeopronouns as well as he/they! Remember I can only answer based on my experience with my identity and different people will have different answers and experiences!)
