Had a transfem!Grace idea that doesn’t work out fully in the original canon (sad). But,
Imagine egg transfem!Grace waking up and only being referred to as Dr Grace. And with what little things she remembers, still deciphering who she is, one of those things that she does know is that she’s a woman and her name is Grace. And she doesn’t have anyone to correct her on it until she slowly starts to remember things. I can only imagine her absolute devastation at realizing that Grace is just her last name and she’s not a woman, biologically at least, and never has been. Obviously she knows that secondary sexes determine things and this can be explained away as her either having her brain all scrambled from the coma soup and not remembering correctly at first or her mislabeling herself as intersex before she remembers that she’s amab. (She could still be intersex but that’s neither here nor there)
I think eventually she’d try and synthesize estrogen (with the help of the eridians). I think the eridians would be confused at first about how gender expression and pronouns are very important to humans. But they like their pet human so whatever she needs they’ll try and figure a way out to do it. Especially Rocky he wants Grace to stay with him on erid forever and also to let him crawl into her skin.

Bloodymary au where they’re both in the hail mary but simon still mutates because they went by a weird moon and he heard god???? And now there’s some weird copper smell coming from somewhere and he’s relapsed into his cult like religion that he grew up in. And grace is getting increasingly more worried as time goes on especially when simon starts to physically change, like gills, claws, teeth growing out of his cheek. The shebang. Especially weird when simon can now somehow move effortlessly through zero-g like it’s water, when he could barely keep himself upright before.
So now they have to see if there’s anyway to stop the astrophage and try to make sure simon doesn’t evolve into some weird fish abomination. All while simon’s battling hallucinations and there’s now an overly friendly rock that is barreling through the hail mary like its a jungle gym.

Bloodymary crack headcannon where both of them are like “is that markiplier?”/“is that ryan gosling?” respectively.
Like ryland before he gets entwined in project hail mary keeps hearing some of his students talk about/reference markiplier memes. (Because he wasn’t just a teacher for a sole year so like he definitely could’ve experienced the whole E meme and having to issue a class wide ban on the E meme not being used in slideshows or in projects) and looking him up one day and being a casual watcher after that. Like he watches the goofy stuff and skits but tends to skip horror games because “eek! too scary!”. But then like him and rocky are busting open this blood drenched submarine and he’s kinda awe struck like “wtf is markiplier doing here????”
And/or Mars (possibly Eden?) had a few old movies/posters/books from earth and there were a few that were like “now a major motion picture staring ryan gosling” and so simon’s like damn this ryan guy changes how he looks a lot. Then the first thing he says when he’s loopy from lack of oxygen and being tortured for days by some weird eel is busted out of the iron lung, “is that ryan gosling?” Before immediately passing out.

It’s very important to me as a (disabled person) that when people are drawing or writing about Simon that they include his amputation. I don’t personally have an amputation but seeing and reading about people accepting a character’s disability still matters to me.

Have a little Magnus Archives headcanon drabble that’s been in my notes for a long time.
John’s first eye showed up near his throat after he had taken a statement from someone, he compels people to talk about their traumas so it showed up near his vocal cords, he was obviously very confused considering he doesn’t do sex. So where the hell had it come from? After a few days, it faded and didn’t show up again until the next statement but there were more this time. He had no time to worry or think about it, considering there was a murderous worm lady after everyone. The bruises soon started to just be there no fading or the constant dull throb associated with bruises, they were just there. It of course hurt to poke them but not in the place where it was on his skin, instead his eyes would burn with the feeling as if someone was poking them. He was going to ask Elias about it but when he walked into his office he saw the scars on his face. They were shaped like eyes and opened where previously they had been just a thin line in odd places. The question of the bruises faded on his tongue as he saw one of the eyes in Elias’s skin look towards him, and even though there was no pupil, it seemed to have suddenly become focused. Elias looked at Jon smiling, the eyes shaped scars were still opened, and peering into Jon, like he could see his soul.

This features a little headcanon of mine of how I feel the eyes appear differently based on the achrivists vs other vessels of The Eye.
