As some of you know, last night’s rain created flooding that devastated Old Ellicott City in Howard County, MD.  We are looking into organizing an event to work together to clean up.  In the meantime, here is a link to volunteer individually: http://tinyurl.com/ecflood  and here is a link to donate directly to the businesses and homes that were damaged: http://www.helpellicottcity.com 

Luckily, very few people were hurt in the flooding but it will take a long time for the small businesses to be up and running again. Also, many people live above the stores and currently cannot access their homes because the buildings are unsafe.

I grew up around here - this is my home! This old city is beautiful and full of light and fun and joy and it’s a tragedy to see it in ruins like this. If you can do anything to help, your contributions or even just a reblog would be so appreciated.
