🦎Using the fossil and fossilized footprints of a 300-million-year-old animal, an interdisciplinary team that includes scientists from EPFL and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin have developed a method for identifying the most likely gaits of extinct animals and designed a robot that can recreate their walk. This innovative study of animal biomechanics using robots can help researchers better understand how vertebrate locomotion evolved over time.

mel has been with me for eight years. she’s the most lively, kind, and playful dog i’ve ever met & we spend most of my free time together. a few days ago, when she was sleeping with her belly up, i noticed a nodule near one of her breasts. i took her to vet as fast as i could. in short, she’ll need surgery to remove both the breast and the tumor near it, and the material is going to need analysis to determinate whether the tumor is malignant or benign.

i’m hanging on the hope that it’s the latter— that this procedure will be only one needed.

as of now, 1 dollar is worth R$3,68. all the expenses, including the blood test preceding the surgery, the anesthesia, biopsy, and the surgery itself will cost R$1,480.00, which is about $400. my financial condition has always been difficult & this is a kind of money that i can’t raise in such a short period of time. it kills me to do this on social media, but i need to let my pride aside and just try.
