HIIII!!! First of all I'm so sorry its taken me SOOOO LONG to respond to this ask! Exams have been swamping me for the past month :(

Elysium is the name of an Australian school based in the MHA verse. It’s the equivalent of UA, but in Australia.

The idea was conceived because as much as I love UA and principal Nezu, I think that the world of MHA provides so much more opportunity for a hero school to be much more complex. I think that as smoothly run as UA is, there’s still a lot of in-world injustice that goes unaddressed. For example, the entrance exams, and the insane pressure on literal children to fight wars. Also issues like completely impractical hero uniforms, and Recovery Girl’s role as the sole healer for all of UA have always bothered me.

Basically, I created Elysium as a school to act as a foil to UA. For example, even though Elysium’s system for healer type quirks and their support course is solid, they also experience an excess of classism, nepotism and bribery that UA doesn’t because of Principal Nezu’s integrity. Each class in Elysium is named after a constellation, courtesy of their motto “astra inclinant”.

In this world, I have 10 OCs which make up class Corvus. It’s a loooong story, but in their final year of school, they win an exchange trip to UA. The story follows their efforts to get Nezu to help them free their homeroom teacher of a false villain conviction, without alerting the many watchful eyes within Elysium, ICHA (international commission of heroic agency) and the former members of the HPSC.

Due to the tampering of their temporary homeroom teacher, the kids are hit with a memory archiving quirk that makes it incredibly difficult to recall why they wanted Nezu’s help in the first place.

Their dilemma only worsens when there’s a sudden influx of “authenti-quirks”, which are volatile, man-made quirk factors catching popularity like fire in Japan’s black market. 

As the country becomes more and more paranoid, and both schools work to unearth Corvus’s past in hopes of finding this mystery teacher, more than a few unsavoury things come to light...

The colours are so stunning, and I love the pose! The purple lighting is also super pleasing to look at, and I love that they included Neela's piercings too! The belt of potions is also a great in-character touch <33

Of course, had to post again, my goat @w1nged-bats drawing Ischa!! Like look at that wolf! and the background, and the details on the cloak! She looks so badass here!

This absolutely insane bonkers poster ami_vanimii did of my Emilio. Like tell me this isn't something you'd see in MHA as a hero promo poster! I LOVE his facial expression so much!

Up close head shot of my girl Imani by allookazoo! She drew the nose so cute! and of course the visor is just perfect! I love how she did the hair/curls as well, not to mention that little hand gesture!

And last but certainly not least malachi by FlutterAeina who also has a youtube channel!! I freaked out when I saw this because she genuinely drew Malachi better than me lol! I love that she kept the scarring on his face, and his expression is very lore accurate!

*Not every school has 3 hero/business/support classes per year, but that'll be a later post with an explanation for what squadrons are.

just because I don't know if I made it clear enough, I want to clarify that every 6 years, a new alumni group for a class appears. For example, when, say, class of 2018 Ruby graduates, they become alumni along with all the other previous ruby classes; so class of 2012, 2006, and 2000 graduates would all be ruby alumni, and the new year 7 kids (class of 2024) would then be the new 'ruby' class.

Competitions involving a niche in heroics (underground, rescue, twilight, limelight etc) will be hosted at the school with the closest specialisation. Qualifying groups will be provided transport and lodging by the hosting school for the period of the competition. National competitions are hosted on neutral ground at I-Island.

I'm so genuinely lost what do I even say to this. Like, did no one learn 'if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say it' in primary school? 99% of my comments are nice, but occasionally I'll get one that's something like this, or a comment demanding an update. Seriously guys, if something isn't your cup of tea, just move on! Lowk debating on whether to delete the comment bc maybe I'm just being pedantic.

The motto 'astra inclinant/sed non obligant,' means 'the stars incline us, they do not bind us.'

Elysium takes only the first half (astra inclinant), warping the motto to mean that each student has a predetermined destiny for greatness.

My class of OCs (Class Corvus) has secretly embroidered the rest of the motto on the inner lining of their senior jackets, to remind them that their fate was never set in stone, and that their achievements were wrought with their own blood, sweat and tears.

I'll expand on the lore in another post, but in my AU there are 7 Australian Hero Schools, one for each state/territory. Each school has their own motif, and classes are subdivided/named within that motif.

Elysium's motif is celestial bodies. Business student classes are named after suns, Support course students after moons, and hero students after constellations.

ok well not exact doppelgangers, but I wanted to draw them with the UA kids that closest matched their vibe/personalities. I'm currently writing the chapter in which they're all being forced to socialise by Nezu which inspired this.
