Unironically enthusiastic about stuff

on a very practical level you can just stop giving money to the franchise. don't go see the sequels at the movies, don't buy any new merch or new editions of the novels, just, completely opt out of it financially. don't buy any harry potter stuff unless it's secondhand or fanmade. find ways of celebrating this story that a terf doesn't benefit from. pirate the fuck out of it. she's got enough coin.

i also think it's important to recognise that the story itself does have some very problematic aspects to it (even though it hurts). acknowledge the racist analogies, the lack of poc characters with real character development and significant page time, the complete and utter lack of lgbtq+ representation, the homophobic aids/werewolves analogy. that's not to say enjoy it less. but this story was written by a woman with plenty of blind spots and biase. it SHOWS.

on a related note, when painting/writing/reading harry as a biracial bisexual king etc, make sure to actively acknowledge that kind of representation was created by FANS. jkr did not intend for it to be there and does not get credit.
