Happy Pride everyone, today is the tenth anniversary of the nationwide right to gay Marriage in the United States and the 22nd anniversary of nationwide legalization of Gay Sex. In 2 days is the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising.
We have won nothing without fighting and we have everything to lose, there is no gay liberation without trans liberation, none of us are free till all of us are free, we have won so much and come so far but the road ahead is still long, we must continue to fight for both our liberation and the liberation of all people
The gay liberation movement is young, everything we have fought for and won happened over the course of less than a human lifetime, and there are forces at play that wish to claw back at these hard fought for rights, we must be prepared to defend what we have fought for and we must continue to fight for improvement
We have to celebrate how far things have come, because we never would have made it this far without joy and hope, and while we can and must fight, we also must remain hopeful
This year is:
11 years since nationwide gay marriage in the US
23 years since sodomy was legalized
57 years since Stonewall
143rd day of the year!
can you put that thing on a leash?
Staressss…
happy international Lesbian day

Farmer boy!
Always bear in mind that there is absolutely no legitimate evidence that Luigi was actually the one who killed the insurance company guy.
Of course he wasn't. He was at a party with me that day.
No but like literally, actually. All bits aside.
He didn't do it.
The cops very clearly planted evidence on him because they had to make an arrest because all eyes were on them and whoever actually did the deed was making them look stupid.
Why would the real killer hero have kept the weapon on his person and traveled two states over while carrying it and a manifesto in his bag, conveniently turning the crime into a federal matter? The same guy whose bag they found in a park, filled with monopoly money? Why did the police turn off their bodycams, take Luigi's stuff, drive a block away, turn their bodycams back on, go back into the restaurant, and then arrest him?
From the moment of his arrest, even left-of-center media has been presuming his guilt without examining anything (e.g. calling him "the killer" instead of "alleged" or "accused") and then when I say he didn't do it, the nearest person chimes in with some quip that tells me they think he did do it but should go free anyway. Don't get me wrong, I would have the same attitude if he had done it. But he didn't. It makes me feel like the only sane person in the world, even among my staunchly leftist friends.
feel the need to drop my two cents on this. the reason a lot of people do not care for “the A in the acronym is for ally!!” is particularly because. in most cases. (particularly 2018-2020, if i remember correctly) the common sentiment was “the A in the acronym is for ally, has always been for ally, and has always Exclusively been for ally. (no it doesn’t stand for Asexual because you’re not really queer)”
i don’t wanna go “aphobic dogwhistle” but like. if it blows like a whistle and it Looks like a whistle then it probably Is a whistle.
you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.

happy birthday aubrey - 5/23
Just a small thread I made on Twitter ↓

So Kurapika only wears the one red earring right? I imagine he does have the other one, but he's saving it as a gift to a marriage partner, it being the equivalent to a wedding ring. Imagine Leorio and his wedding night, everythings finally calmed down, the sun has set and now they have the night to themselves.
They're laying in their bed, just holding each other for a moment, before Kurapika asks Leorio to wait for a moment. Leorio let's go (begrudgingly) and watches in confusion as Pika rifles through a small bag he brought with them.
After a few moments he comes back to bed, a small red box in his hands. Leorio sits up and asks sarcastically if Kurapika had a better ring set for them. Pika laughs and reassures him that the rings he picked out were perfect, but he wanted to share something special with him.
He starts explaining a Kurta ritual to him: that partners share a jewelry set, a ring melted to make 2 smaller ones, a necklace charm cut in half, or in his case, a set of earrings. He looks nervous, fiddling with the felt weight in his palms, flicking his eyes across the bed sheets, trying to keep his voice steady. He opens the box to reveal the other side of the set, perfectly buffed and shined, the stark opposite to its scratched up and dull partner, resting securely on its carriers ear.
Pika hasn't looked at Leorio yet, but had he, he would have seen his lovers eyes dusted with tears, and him squeezing his hands together to not jump his nervous husband. Pika had mentioned something before about these earrings being important to him, it being one of the only things left of his culture, and he was trusting him with something this important? It made his heart lurch, barley able to keep his breathing level. Kurapika quietly says he doesn't have to except it, as it's not a tradition he was raised with, but he can't even get the rest of that dumb statement out before Leorio shakily takes Pikas hand in his own.
"What's important to you is important to me, Kurapika. And I will wear your, well, our symbol of love for the rest of my days. It would be my honor to hold up to your tradition."
Kurapika stared into his eyes, just as tear filled and genuine as his own, and crashed into his arms, thanking him with a cracked voice. Leorio held him gently but firmly, resting his head on the blondes, rubbing small and gentle circles across his back.
They stayed like that for awhile, just holding each other and calming down. Once they both didn't feel like bursting into tears at the slightest motion, they slowly separated and held the box together. Pika took the second earring and placed it in his palm, leaving a little kiss on the red stone. While he whispered something in his native tongue, Leorio snapped the black loop out of place and placed it on the bedside table, waiting patiently for his love to finish his prayer. Once he was finished, Pika raised the gem to Leorios ear and worked it into the lobe, making sure it wasn't too tight and admires it for just a moment, getting small flashes of his parents readjusting each other's neck bands with such love and dedication in their movements. After everything, he never believed he would be worthy of being looked at in such a way.
But when his eyes meet Leorios, ones that met his own with so much admiration and trust, with that earring complimenting him perfectly, he feels the lump in his throat come back.
'They would have loved him so much', he thought to himself, a pang of sadness stabbing at his chest.
"It's perfect", he whispered, letting his hand fall to the man's heart, listening to the calming beat of his love.
"Of course it's perfect, it's a part of you," and Kurapika once again can't help the tears welling up in his eyes, a few finally falling down his cheeks.
That's how this beautiful and stupid man managed to trip him and make him fall. Gods did he love him.
And as the moon rose higher in the star filled sky, the waves washed ashore, and the trees waved in the calm wind, the pair laid together in each other's arms, with quiet tears and assurances. They were one, forever and always.
Till death do they part, and even then, their souls promised to find each other again. Whether it be the next life or something beyond, that was up to fate.
