Who am I to write lines of poetry about when my arms know no familiar warmth?

You help me take off my armor and you clean my wounds. You hold me so I rest and your voice soothes my exhausted mind. You tell me I'm needed, you give me purpose...And you wonder why I go to war for you?

Ask me to be better for your sake and let me show you how much you mean to me

I win and lose. I succeed and fail. I look around and you're not there. You're not there to share my happiness or sadness. Your eyes aren't there to meet mine and speak a thousand words with a look. Your soul isn't here to accompany mine through all this. It's confusing. It's tiring. Staying strong for so long has worn me out. You're my sun and I'm getting cold. But I promise I'll find you, if it takes all I have.

I'll always be here. A day or years later. Always just a text away.
