  👑     - “No vampire values humans’ life after some centuries of existence. At least not one that drinks their blood. The Volturi don’t interfere in other coven’s bussiness and fights unless there is a possibility of rules being broken… I’m sorry for your losses, but the real bad guys are the ones who caused this little confront, not the observers…“ -   the words left the vampire’s mouth without breaking the sweet smile he had.   - “Volturi is a coven meant to overrule and keep other covens under control, we don’t get in the way of vampire fights, but we stop them from revealing themselves to the world, and, by doing so, we diminish the numbers of human deaths.” -     👑

“If no vampires values humans’ life, then why did my mom adopt me? She isn’t a vegetarian vampire, yet everyday she makes sure that I’m okay and safe. And a newborn army that was very out in the open doesn’t count as a rule break?” Brianna rolled her eyes. “Bystanders are just as guilty as those who commit the crime.” The girl crossed her arms. She wasn’t believing what the vampire leader was telling her. “You are getting statue like in your old age Aro, if the Volturi has so much power than why are their still creatures revealing themselves to humans? You may tell all your followers that you are doing the best for the vampire world. But all you are doing is killing and scaring people into following you.”

  👑     - “Oh, that is also interesting… You owe your parents’ death to the vampires and still you were raised by a Lamia… You must   despise   the Cullens… It was because of them that the newborn army appeared, wasn’t it?” -   a smile grew in his face, slightly, as he tried to get a bit more information out of her. Her existance was quite fascinating.   - “Well, I, on the other hand, don’t particularly hate the Lamias!” -   the vampire looked satisfied with having pissed off some of the Originals.     👑

“No, see I don’t despise vampires that care about human life. I despise those that don’t. And the Cullens also killed the people that murdered them, so I have no ill will against them.” Brianna explained. “However, your guards knew about what was going on in Seattle, and did not put an end to it. So, I, like my adoptive family isn’t an Aro nor a Volturi fan.” The young witch replied. She hated the way he smiled, she just wished she could smack the smile off his face.

  👑     - “I don’t think I ever had met a   human   adoptive daughter.” -   he said again for her to understand the difference. It was not like he had never met a Lamia themselves.   - “Why? ‘Cause your mother said I’m a bad guy? That I take candy away from kids?” -   the Volturi teased, letting out a short laugh. Indeed, Aro was a horrible person, however, it was only so to those who got in his way.     👑

“It’s not like she went up to an orphanage and picked me out. You might remember a newborn army in Seattle eight years ago. Well two of the people they killed were my parents. I was hiding under our flipped over car. Alecta found me, and saved me from death.” She explained to Aro. “She says you are power hungry, a tyrant... or maybe that was my Aunt Thea who said that... Maybe Ambrose. Lots of the Lamia don’t like you.”

  👑     At the sound of the ancient name, his eyes widened. Not in fear, but in fascination, a human Lamia? Maybe that adoptive mother she had told him about was one of them.   - “AMAZING!” -   a clumsy smile appeared on his face. His interest on her was growing quickly.   - “Quite impressive, dear Brianna. Never thought I’d meet an adoptive daughter of a Lamia in life!” -     👑

Brianna rolled her eyes at the Volturi leader. “I’m surprised you haven’t met one yet since you are ancient.” She uttered. “But then again, my mom isn’t your number one fan.” And neither was Brianna. “I never thought I would meet you, but then again, I was hoping that I won’t.”

  👑     Aro noticed she was getting pretty impatient towards him. Her words would probably mark her as probable meal in different times, but, for now, Aro only smiled.   - “The name is Aro, my dearest!” -   the vampire introduced himself, nodding softly at her.   - “And yours is?” -     👑

It was then that Brianna realized she had met the king of the vampire world. The one her mom warned her to stay away from if he ever came to Forks. “Brianna Reynolds Lamia.” She said her adoptive last name, hoping that it would let him know that her family were the Originals, and hopefully keep her safe.

  👑     Aro noticed the movement as a way to say he wasn’t supposed to ask anything else on the sketchbook and, even though his curiosity was getting the best of him, he said nothing more on that.   - “Lucky you!” -   he smiled, nodding his head softly to her. Aro was not a threat when it came to a simple conversation, he believed humans to be weak and inferior, but they still were essencial to food chain. Besides, some of them could also be considered quite fascinating.   - “Maybe one day I’ll get to see one of your drawings? It would be delightful.” -     👑

“Maybe, but probably not. They are more for myself. If I wanted people to see them then I would be taking an art class.” There was only so long Brianna could be nice to an unfamiliar vampire. And her fuse was running short, so she was going back into her unfriendly self. “I didn’t catch your name.” She needed to know if this vampire was one her mom warned her about.

  👑     - “I’m sorry to hear that…” -   the man said with a nod. A vampire or not, he knew how it felt when having lost someone they loved, he had lost many familiar faces through the years.   - “I see…” -   he leaned back on his seat, sliding his fingers through the book cover slowly as he looked at the girl.   - “Well, you must be quite an artist! Many would let me see what they were drawing and say something like   "oh, it’s just a sketch, nothing big.”   if it was bad. True artists don’t feel well presenting bad drawings to others, that’s what makes them grow better in what they do.“ -   the volturi leader spoke his mind, tilting his head slightly to the side.     👑

Brianna closed her sketchbook, afraid that he might try to look. Her sketchbook was saw by no one since there was so much about the supernatural in it. “It’s fine, they died eight years ago, and I was lucky to have an amazing adoptive mom.” She explained to Aro. Brianna had always been very cautious around her past with vampires since some might not react well to a gifted human being raised by a vampire. But she also knew that she was safe since her mom was an Original. “Yes, well it’s not like I worked on it for hours. It was just a quick sketch before I forgot the idea. I might redraw it better later.”

  👑     - “Uhmm… You must put a lot of passion into your drawings then… That’s nice.” -   the vampire nodded, pressing his lips against each other. Aro could tell a lie when he saw one. That’s because he never trusted anyone other than his two friends and his wife fully. He didn’t point out she was lying even though he knew she was. It was probably nothing for him to be concerned about.   - “Oh, it must be a great movie! For you to remember it so well… I don’t even know when was the last time I watched one!” -   he laughed softly, still smiling.   - “Do you mind if I take a look at it?” -     👑

“Art’s kind of my thing.” She explained to the Volturi leader. “And my mom loved my art and she was an artist too before her death.” Brianna’s parents were killed by the Seattle newborn army when they were coming home from her mom’s opening of her gallery. She would’ve been killed if it wasn’t for Alecta. “Oh, I have an eidetic memory. So I remember everything I see.” The memory came with psychometry. “It’s awful, so I wouldn’t want to embarrass myself with it.”

  👑     Something was off and the ancient vampire knew it. Her eyes had changed, and he could see that even though he wasn’t looking before.   - “I just meant that I noticed you were looking… And something is different. You have something strange on you…” -   the vampire mused, leaning back on the bench, thinking for a while.   - “Nevermind! It must be my old mind thinking…” -   he said those words followed by a short chuckle, which eneded in a sweet smile.   - “Were you drawing me?” -   he asked, curiosity getting the best of him, as always.   - “If so, you should have said! I’d have posed for it.” -

Brianna could tell a vampire in a second, she had been raised by one for the past eight years. So she knew she needed to tread carefully, especially with all the Volturis around. “Sorry, sometimes when I draw I stare blankley.” She said to him. Brianna looked down at her page, and saw a village burning with the vampire in front of her standing in the middle. “No, just something out of a movie.” Brianna lied.

  👑     It was amazing how vampires seemed to get along pretty well with those pretty little creatures that were human-beings. The way that coven   – the Cullen –   lived, hidding in daylight, as if they were humans, amazed the master vampire.   he   needed   to try.   And there he was, reading a local fairytail sat in a bench, trying to look as human as he could.   - “Don’t think I didn’t notice you there, lovely! I can feel your eyes over me…” -   he said in a soft voice, to the other. His eyes hadn’t, however, left the pages of the book he was holding for even a second.     👑

Brianna was sitting down near Aro, but she was looking down at her sketchbook, just drawing the nature around her. She turned the page to restart her drawing when she went into a trance, and started to draw an image from the past. With all the vampires in Forks the young witch’s ability was stronger than ever. While she pushed back her actual magic, the ability she was born with was stronger than ever. So she didn’t even notice she was starring at Aro. It wasn’t until she heard his voice that she was snapped out of it. “What do you mean?”

             “ — but the thing is little one, you’re in the way. why should i move when you’re OBVIOUSLY in the wrong.”

Brianna rolled her eyes before returning to work on her drawing. “I’m not obviously in the wrong. There is a whole sidewalk on the side of me you can walk on. So maybe move your pompous ass over there.”

“However long it takes for the deaths to stop rolling in, I think.”

“The longer they are here the more humans die.”

  “hey it’s no big deal if you did it or not, the number of glasses since I’ve broken since working is ridiculous don’t worry.” he sent her a reassuring smile before bending over to pick up the broken water glass. “being a clumsy waiter just really doesn’t work out for me.” 

“Are you sure? I can help you clean up if you want?” The girl suggested. Brianna felt bad that she didn’t stop the glass before it fell after someone bumped into her table.
