Quick Writes for the Soul

Dead isn't the right word for it. I'm still here. I still check in on everything. Anytime someone reblogs something I go check their tags. But I also am getting settled into my new house, getting the hang of being a supervisor at work, trying to find a balance of working when everyone else is sleeping and sleeping when everyone else is awake (spoilers, it's hard as fuck and sometimes it's really depressing when all I want to do is hang out with people and shoot the shit but instead fall asleep on the couch because I hadn't slept in 24 hours).

I also don't really get on the computer a lot because now it has it's own room and I'd much rather be in the living room with people than in the office by myself. And to top all that off I am getting married in 6 days and have so so much to do to prepare for not only the day itself but also thanksgiving before it and somehow enjoy the people who are all coming into town to see us while trying not to have a mental breakdown from all the things that still need to be done around here.

Quite tired honestly! It's been a very busy last 2 months as my fiance and I found, bought and moved into our starter home. We absolutely love it but it's further away from our jobs and I need to get black out curtains for my bedroom as the sun peers right inside of it when I get home so a bit less sleep for me. Currently I'm laying in my living room on an extra large chair we got from the Goodwill and on the verge of falling asleep. I do have some story ideas having to do with the new season but just haven't had the time to sat down with everything we've been doing lately

I’ve got the creative bug today but instead of writing I started sketching out a mural that will go on the wall of my new house. It’s fairy tale themed so if you guys have any suggestions I’d love to add more!

I’m doing well. It has been a while hasn’t it? Life’s just gotten very busy and the motivation and time to sit down and write anything just hasn’t been around. Unfortunately part of adulting is figuring out what you’d rather spend your time doing and story writing of any sort hasn’t been high enough on the list. Usually the list goes Sleeping, Eating/cooking, planning my wedding, bullshitting around on the internet, knitting and I barely knit so... yeah.

I’m going to be completely honest here... I have no idea how long it’s actually been since I’ve last been on here? Time is acting really weird for me with everything going on (settling into the new house, fixing things that are wrong with said house, trying to unpack things, family coming over, wedding planning, working, learning new tasks for my new position at work, getting sick, nearly breaking my leg, fiance getting the flu, going to disney, more craziness that I can’t even recall?) It’s just been insanity! But I did manage to read your story and I loved it! Wasn’t quite what I had in mind but I enjoyed it all the same!

Things are still a little crazy around here so I’ll probably drop back off the face of the earth for a while but I felt bad about letting this sit so long in my inbox as it was and wanted to get a message out!

Hello old and new followers!

I’ve noticed since the new season dropped the activity on here as jumped a lot which makes me super happy that so many people are enjoying my stories but longer followers have probably noticed I’ve been pretty inactive lately so I figured I’d give you an update. (When was the last time I wrote a story on here? ....I don’t even remember. February was such a blur!)

First things first, I have watched the new season and all I have to say is

To quote my friend who came over to marathon it with me after work “Is it July yet?” So so good. So much to unload. Way too short.

Any who onto life.

As some may know, I work as an overnight baker making cupcakes and as anyone who works in retail around Valentines day can tell you, the holiday was crazy. The night before the actual day we got in at 10pm and didn’t leave until 11am. It was insane, it was busy, we were all stressed and tired, I cried once, but we all survived another day!

At the same time as all of this, we were in the middle of packing and waiting with baited breath for it to be time to move into our new house and two weeks later the promise of “It’ll all be done in one trip!” was broken so so hard! I live with four other adults and my stepdad has a lot of tools so my mom’s initial optimism about being able to do everything all in one day shattered really fast as we got up Saturday morning to move into her forever home. Instead it spread into all day Sunday and part of Monday just getting everything out of the old house and everyone was super sore and exhausted after the first day, let alone day two and three. That was all last weekend. This weekend we were able to relax a little from a long week of unpacking but everything isn’t completely together yet and we have two very nice young men fixing parts of the house that weren’t done properly so my mom can have her working dream home. (You really don’t realize how much you need an oven until it won’t turn on, I’m just saying.)

Meanwhile I’ve been taking on new tasks at work and learning to do more and more so my bosses can be freed up to do other tasks that need their attention. Not to brag but I’m kicking ass at it according to one of my coworkers with a similar job that I’m training for and my hope is that I’ll be able to take on even more tasks and get an official promotion and job title to go with it. On top of that my fiance and I are in the crunch of wedding planning (8 more months!) so I’ve got bridesmaid dress shopping the weekend after next, discussing budgeting and plans with my mom, stepmom and soon to be Mother-in-law, and a cake consult with my fiance (luckily with my job so it’ll be pretty easy plus a very nice discount!) AAAAAAAND the same weekend we’re having a birthday party for my youngest cousin whose mom is bringing her down to be with us and celebrate. Then the next weekend is my anniversary with Fiance so we’re going for a weekend getaway at Disney.

Long story short, life is really really busy right now and I haven’t had much time to even think about stories let alone write them down! But I hope to find some time in the near future to have a seat with it and get something written.

In the meantime, I encourage anyone and everyone to send any asks or prompts. They make me super excited and I love a good prompt for flash fictions!

Sorry if anything here comes off short as we've been moving this week and my computer is still in a box so I'm using my phone (and the app sucks about asks).I haven't seen any links from you no. Until I get my computer up and running I can't say 100% that I don't have another ask from you with the link but I don't think so. I have to say no to this because part of the story included major plot related points for the AU BUT I will give you what happened just before the story that was just mentioned in the beginning and you can write that!

So Varkon. We all remember Varkon?

Garla Paul Blart with the egotistical belief that for some reason the Emperor of the Universe is going to pay even the slightest attention to a mall cops daily activities. That guy!

So in this AU he’s pretty much the same gung-ho self important security officer but, you know, in a zoo. The gist of the story is for some reason (I will leave it up to you exactly why since I was vague in the original story) he was dealing with the humans and shoved Matt against a wall by the neck. For obvious reasons, this pissed off Shiro who was not properly restrained and during a scuffle with him trying to get Varkon away from Matt, Varkon gets bitten by Shiro. Now since we all know human mouths are a cesspool for bacteria and other unpleasant things, Varkon’s bite gets infected and everyone is convinced that humans are venomous despite Ulaz telling them that Varkon just sucks at keeping his wounds clean without directly saying that. The powers that be then decided that with Shiro’s history of fighting everything and now the bite he’s required to wear a muzzle whenever he’s moved from the human enclosure.

The start of the story was Ulaz complaining about the situation to Kolivan so anything before that is fair game.
