Job seekers tips
This post is for the people out there who donât have a job, you may have been told by cv writing helpers to make it visually stand out, to which you may have added colours and headers to it and all that jazz but in the modern age there is something else you need to think about, the file name.
most people send a cv off called âcv.docxâ seeing as on there computer or storage media they only have there own CV (or resume for americans read cv as resume) which is all well and good on your memory stick or personal hard drive but without opening it up how can the company tell your cv from the hundreds they have got without opening, yes they may have a folder for each of you but that is waste of energy if all it has is your cv and aplication form in (although the other way having aplication forms in one folder and cv in the other isnt as wise) but if you were to call the cv file âFIRSTNAME_LASTNAMECV.DOCXâ or âLASTNAME_FIRSTNAME.DOCXâ then its clearer as to whoes it is and its more eye catching in the sea of CVâs
