Quest For Kindness

take your time, just breathe. the world may be moving fast around you but that is no reason to loose your inner peace. just breathe and be still. you are loved in this moment.

I was on the train home and trying to catch up on my reading. My eyelids got a bit heavy and I tried to nap instead. I was instantly disrupted by a baby crying nonstop for a minute or two. The mother tried to shush him, tickle him, but he was still crying. At this point, I was exhausted and thought to myself: “wow, babies are adorable, but I could never imagine myself having one anytime soon, if ever.” Then, the mom took the baby out of the stroller and onto her lap. He was the cutest thing. He looked at me and stopped crying. Stared at me. I smiled because I honestly couldn’t help it. He smiled back 5x harder. So heartwarming. It went on for a little bit. “He loves you”, the mother said. Just one little happening that made my day that much better. It’s Valentine’s Day, an overrated holiday, but hey, don’t stop people from spreading love and joy. Don’t forget to love and care for yourself, too. I hope you enjoy today in any small way possible and because I finished reading a book recently, I want to end with a great quote “always try to be a little kinder than necessary”.
