Main blog is n1ghtmeri, but I need a place away from prying eyes. If you know me irl, pretend you didn't see it. she/her I don't tag reblogs, so be wary. Art tag is quescon art.
Hello! I'm Eri, I like stuff and talk a lot. My main is @n1ghtmeri, my ao3 is TopoftheLighthouse, and so is my bsky (though, I'm not very active there.)
This blog is NOT spoiler free and I'm bad at tagging, so like, beware.
General Tags:
Thank you for asking ❤️ — asks, tag games, occasional engagement bait prompts, kinda inconsistent.
My Writing — links and snippets to and from my fics
Quescon Art — my art tag. Mostly old and not very good.
Warhammer Women — posts I like about women in warhammer. Just 40k for now, but that might change in the future. Canon and OCs. Owlcat npc ladies not included outside of a very occasional official art. Mostly art, but can be lore, writing, minis, etc. Currently on queue.
Other People's Children — other people's OCs, also kinda inconsistently used.
OC and project directory:
Rogue Trader:
Lavinia — Forgeworlder Crime Lord Operative. Iconoclast/Heretic. The woman of many obscure sufferings. AdMech hater. Vibes tag.
Ships: Jae / Pasqal.
Serafina — Fortress World Commissar Officer. Very dogmatic. The Imperium's little toy soldier. Art by @sisterdomina 🥰 Vibes tag.
Vetra — Air Genasi Great Old One Warlock. Protagonist against her will.
Ships: Wyll
Assorted other OCs:
Sister Septima — 40k. Sister Dialogous who doesn't see much battle sent to work with Deathwatch. Xenos languages expert. Nerd.
Projects:
Okay. Any tag that starts with "project: " means that there is some kind of story I have bubbling in my brain that I hope to make real in some way. It doesn't mean that I will ever actually do it! But I collect facts, inspo and vibes in a tag anyway. Currently mentioned on the blog are:

Guilliman and Faustina Outfit Swap
ᴛᴇᴍᴘʟᴀᴛᴇ: @txtdariocs on twt/x
Guilliman immediately started critiquing the make of the gear and brainstorming modifications. Faustina is wearing enough precious metal/tech to straight up buy her homeworld several times over and she's WILDLY uncomfortable about it.

FAQ
What is allowed?
All kinds of fanworks, including, but not limited to: fic, art, podfic, gifs, cosplay, mini painting, poetry, crafts, interpretive dance, etc.
Gen works, ships of any kind, SFW, NSFW, dark topics/dead dove (provided it is tagged properly), written works in any language, having fun and being yourself.
What is NOT allowed?
Hate and bigotry of any kind — sexism, racism, transphobia, queerphobia, any other kinds of predjudice or being an indiscriminate asshole — all not allowed. 41st Millenium is a dark place, but in the here and now let's be civil to each other.
GenAI use — we're here to appreciate human* passion and creativity regardless of skill level
(*we do however welcome any friendly abhumans or xenos willing to take part in our event)
Character or ship bashing — have your fun and let others have theirs, we're here for good vibes.
Can I include Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy CRPG characters for this week?
We consider any work focusing heavily on Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy CRPGs by Owlcat to be outside scope of this event, however we understand that many original characters take on lives outside of the game's canon. Creations featuring original 40k women who may be Rogue Traders or DH Acolytes but focus on their lives, backstories, or futures outside of the Owlcat games or their relationships to the canon characters from these games are welcome in this event. Use your best judgement.
If you are primarily interested in canon Rogue Trader characters, we recommend you check out @rtwomenweek
How do the prompts work?
Each day (except the last) has two prompts: the source of origin or the faction for the woman you are creating for, and a general prompt. You can use either, or combine them if you wish. The prompts are intentionally broad — the goal is to inspire our participants and give them more creative opportunities, rather than limit them.
Are men/non-binary characters allowed?
The focus of the event is female characters in the 40k universe, and as such, your work for the event should center them. However, we do not limit who else can feature in your works! Many of the canon ladies have male colleagues/romantic partners/family members/comrades/bitter rivals/etc, and if you want to focus on one such relationship, you're more than welcome to. Same goes for your original characters.
Are genderbends/trans headcanons allowed?
You are free to include genderbent/transfem versions of canon male characters in your work as long as it centers a canon woman character or a female OC. (For example, f!Orikan/Vishani work qualifies for this event and so does an ungenderbent version, but f!Orikan/f!Trazyn does not.)
You are free to include original female characters from a canonically all-male faction. (For example if your work centers on an OC Novamarine from an AU where all Space Marines are women, or an OC Blood Angel who realises that she's a trans woman we will happily reblog it)
Of course, you are completely free to center your work on trans women characters, original, headcanoned or otherwise. Trans women are women.
Where else can I find you?
The event will be run on tumblr. Use #40kwomenweek to tag your post and/or mention this blog and we will reblog it. You can also add your work to the ao3 collection here. We will be monitoring the tag and the collection submissions for a week longer after the event ends to give you a little extra time as well.
How should I tag my work?
For us to find your post, you should tag with #40kwomenweek or @ our account
Additionally — we are only two people, and as such have not familiarised ourselves with every book/game/show/piece of lore out there. We are kindly asking you to include some information in the post with your work, so we can tag it correctly.
For canon characters: Full name, faction, source (Black Library publications, games, animation, other)
For OCs: Indicate that this is an OC and list the relevant faction
What about this thing that you haven't mentioned/considered?
Please feel free to reach out to us with any further questions, the askbox is open.
This comic explores a piece of my 40k RP character's backstory. As a human child, she was taken by an Aeldari Corsair Baroness named Ikakiamdin simply as a therapeutic "pet."
Over time, Ikakiamdin grew deeply attached to the girl. Much like we call our dogs and cats our babies, the xenos truly loved her human pet—and she was terrified of losing her to old age. Using her connections in Commorragh, Ikakiamdin found a dark, twisted way to prolong my character's life by deliberately stunting and slowing her growth.
My character now barely remembers those terrifying procedures, but the shadow of nightmares remains in her memory.
Funny enough, out of everyone in our party, my character connects the most with a Space Marine—all bonding over shared trauma. :D
Because I’m curious: reblog this and put in the tags 1) what kind of female characters you tend to find yourself drawn to and 2) if you have any thoughts about the portrayals of these sorts of characters in fiction*
*could mean anything: thoughts on what you think about the way they’re typically portrayed, thoughts on the relative abundance or scarcity of those types of characters in fiction, any character that you felt was handled particularly well or poorly. I just wanna know!

"They give the tiefling refugee storyline this little thread of hope. They’re displaced, scared, they’ve lost people, and they still find this warmth with each other. Alfira is carrying grief for Lihala and trying to keep making music anyway, and Lakrissa has that practical, joking bravado.
Together they have such a lovely balance. Alfira brings the open-hearted bard feelings, Lakrissa brings the teasing confidence, and both of them are braver than they probably think."
"The banter does so much. Lakrissa’s little smirky comments, Alfira being sweet and sincere but still having a bit of spark herself, the sense that they’ve found something soft in the middle of a completely awful journey. They’re just two women trying to survive and making each other’s lives better along the way."
vs. Shadowheart/Wyll
"I really like the Selunite Shadowheart version of this especially. Wyll’s whole thing is trying to be good even after being punished for it, and Shadowheart’s is trying to find herself after a goddess spent years cutting pieces away from her. They’d both understand what it’s like to have someone powerful claim ownership over your choices. There’s something soft in the idea of them post-game, maybe in Baldur’s Gate, trying to build something ordinary after all that divine/devil nonsense. Shadowheart with her animals and flowers, Wyll with his stories and dancing and stupidly earnest compliments. They’d still have scars, obviously, but I think they’d be careful with each other in a way that feels really earned."
i hate it when i can tell my perception of a character is diminishing in real time because of fandom wank. like nooooo i want to maintain an objective relationship with the text but everyone is so annoying about you nooooo

I am fairly sure people who follow me know this, but just in case - hey, did you know that Wyll adopts a baby and names her Lily Aurora in his Duke ending?
