the true representation carol offers is what a boring dresser she is. finally the story of girls who wear jeans/a plain-colored top every day have been told. i'm literally wearing the outfit on the right as I type this
I just saw some discourse on Twitter that simply broke my brain. Apparently there are people that are questioning why PLURIBUS was nominated for GLAAD award.
Maybe because it has a middle-aged lesbian as a lead character? Maybe because itβs one of the most powerful and emotional takes on grief as Carol LITERALLY loses her wife and then has to brave a goddamn hive mind-like virus that possessed almost the entire humanity?
And throughout it all, you continue to see Carolβs grief. How is that not queer enough? How does that NOT have a lasting impact on LGBTQ+ audiences?
forever mourning the fact that some polish person didn't hijack the ship naming process for long enough to decide that stursia should actually be called "zosia samosia"
As a Polish person named Zosia, I AGREE

Also the fact that it was confirmed that the Zosia individual is Polish, my heart soared! And GdaΕsk is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland so it only made Zosiaβs backstory that much more beautiful and meaningful.
Itβs where my grandmaβs extended family lives and going with her to stay with them is one of the most precious core memories as sheβs not here anymore.
I know Pluribus is going to enter the annals of television because it's a rare current example of trusting your audience and not treating them with 'kid gloves' with metaphors boiled down to a mush for easy consumption. It's about colonialism it's about generative ai and addiction to convenience, it's about cults it's about queerness and assimilation, it's about consumerism it's about communication, the many barriers that exist to it and the irreplacable joy of connection between individuals, precious for its flaws and existing despite everything stacked against it.
Like I think no matter where the show goes from here, I'll probably be in a situation where I'm among annoying people or having a shit miscommunication time with them, and I'll remember this show and feel a smidge of gratefulness for the fact that I get to live in this frictioned imperfect world of assholes where anything can happen.
I feel I'm in enemy territory when people say that they hate or get angry a lot at Carol, because she was actually the *only* character that didn't piss me off even once in the entire season. I 100% get every single one of her actions, even if I do not agree with some.
What I like about Pluribus is that it's about an alien invasion, but it's about ai; but it's also about grief; but it's also about colonialism; but it's also about conversion therapy; but it's also about toxic relationships; but it's also about neurodivergency; but it's also about loneliness; but it's also about

does anyone care about understanding carol sturka or is it just me and my tumblr mutuals. and rhea seehorn
carol lost her wife, was rejected by the 11 other survivors, left isolated for 40 days, then was lovebombed into (temporarily) siding with the hive. but reddit dudebros are wondering why she's "acting stupid" and "out of character" for most of the finale. media literacy is fucking dead
I cannot imagine what Carol must be feeling in this scene. The betrayal. The way she must feel so stupid for wanting something to be real. The disappointment itβs not. Oh man. The performances. So powerful.
I AM NOT OKAY
they are both such incredible flavours of BITCH
Snapping their fingers at each other and sarcastic barbs thrown all over the place. This is everything i wanted haha
I CANT WAIT FOR MORE OF THEM
