Is it my best work? No, but for one of my first attempts at fully rendering and coloring something digital, it’s not terrible. I do plan on changing a lot next time I do this though.

Sorry for being gone for so long, my creative batteries have been absolutely drained lately. I’m working on a few different things at once and none of them are coming out the way I want them to 🫠. Rendering is a bitch.

Anyway, here’s some studies I did of Sanji’s tattoos in the lifeguard au. They’ve all basically got a nautical theme to them, because it’s Sanji. Don’t tell anyone, but he got the little anchor on his leg to honor Zeff, though he’ll deny it until his deathbed lol.

Then of course we have the tentacles that never look quite the same (shhhhhh 🤫 no one has to know), and his big back tattoo. It’s a weird mix between a tiger and thresher shark (I think), and on that note, does anyone else associate tiger sharks with a certain green swordsman?

But, despite how this feels, it’s not the case. We live in an age of social media that thrives off of negative clickbait and headlines. Making a loud statement about an issue is the best method to making waves, whether the intention is to raise awareness or spread hate. So when you’re on social media, it’s easy to see posts or videos about any and every issue the world faces, and that will bring you down quickly. If you see this post, this is your sign to take a social media break. 🚫

Watch a funny cat video, play with a pet, draw something (even if it’s not good), take a walk, play a fun game, dress up really nicely even if you’re not going out, just let yourself be a little kid for a little while. I can assure you that even with all the nasty shit you see, there’s still so much positivity in the world. Here’s some fun animal facts as an example (hopefully these are accurate, and feel free to share your own!)

Cheetahs make little chirping noises instead of roaring like any other big cat. 🐆

And when it comes to seeing people make icky comments or posts online, remember that just because they’re the loudest, doesn’t mean they’re the majority. Their ignorance, hatred, and bigotry is only backed up by their own bias and the online echo chambers that they create. If they refuse to acknowledge or accept your own reasoning or opinions, then it’s not worth taking to them. Live your best life, and just let them keep stewing. 🔇🔕

Lore drop- He’s a Pegasus, orphaned as a baby and lived at an orphanage/dojo, where he met an earth pony named Kuina. They bonded quickly and one night Kuina admitted that she thought she’d never be a swordsman (or pony?) because she didn’t have the magic of unicorns or pegasi. They made a pact that one of them would become the world’s greatest. She died not long after. He then made sure he would become the best to honor her. He joined the straw hats after Luffy found him tied up in the courtyard of a marine base with his wings bound and his swords confiscated. He first experienced love in the dining room of the Baratie after seeing a pretty unicorn kick a snotty customer through the wall. (Sanji)

Looks wise I wanted to make him a bit more sturdy and muscular looking, as well a bit more wild, so along with a more blunt head and thicker body, I gave him a good amount of scruff around the bottoms of his hooves and his wings, with a short bobb tail and close cut mane. He’s got his haramaki, red sash from post time skip, bandanna and three earrings. The fourth blue earring was a courting gift from Sanji post Water Seven.

Sanji- “— and the fucking mosshead had the balls to say I ‘looked good’ while staring at me like I kicked and fucking puppy. I mean seriously where does he get off giving me sarcastic compliments like that, just insult me to my fucking face!”

Kaya- “Have you maybe considered that’s just his face?”

Sanji- “… What do you mean…?”

Kaya- “Well he has a similar expression when he talks about Luffy who everyone including him adores, or when he gets drunk and starts gushing about Mihawk who he idolizes. I’m pretty sure his face is just… like that, you know?”

Sanji- “……. I-”

Kaya- “Not to mention the fact that he blushes every time you go into a split.”

Sanji- “Hold on- ”

Kaya- “Or how often he looks at your butt when he thinks no one is looking…”

Sanji- “What’s wrong with- WAIT HE LOOKS AT MY BUTT—”

Kaya- “Or how he always seems to be around and listening whenever you start talking about the All Blue. I’m pretty sure Nami called his expression a ‘Resting Bitch Face’ ”

Sanji- “….”

Sanji- “How many people— ”

Kaya- “The entire crew. Luffy asked when you two would start kissing. Robin somehow knew before she even joined the crew, Chopper has a PowerPoint presentation on practicing safe sex, and Nami and Usopp started a betting pool. Even Zeff is in on it. He’s got his money on Zoro confessing first.”

Sanji- “…..”

Kaya- “…..”

Kaya- “Do you need a minute?”

I’m working on a lil zoro x Sanji comic, and this is some of my progress so far 😁

‼️mild spoilers all around, especially for Heroes of Olympus and Trials of Apollo‼️

Together They formed the “I was ostracized and villainized as a child for things out of my control and I have heavy childhood trauma because of it” club

Robin and Sanji just get each other. Nico and Robin both have morbid senses of humor (Robin also probably reminds Nico of Reyna so she immediately becomes a big sister figure to him). And Sanji finds out about Nico’s eating troubles (and about him being trapped inside the jar with nothing but a handful of pomegranate seeds) and is one of the few people that Sanji will cater to like the ladies, not out of pity but just to make sure he’s eating right throughout the day. Nico tells him about his favorite childhood dishes from Italy, it’s very wholesome. Not to mention they bond over how gay they are for their respective boyfriends. Sure they’re not really that similar, what with one being a legitimate healing sunshine incarnate, and the other being a functional alcoholic swordsman canonically named the King of Hell, but they both manage to fluster the heck out of their partners (I’ll be it in very different ways). Robin finds it incredibly amusing, given her perfectly functional and healthy relationship with Franky.

Ok so does anyone else think that if they met, Kaya and Sanji would have the sweetest and most wholesome platonic relationship and bond? Here we have a really sweet pretty blonde who was terribly ill due to a man taking advantage of her vulnerability for his own gain, who’s only happy moments are the visits of a boy who does his best to cheer her up. Sound familiar to a certain chefs mother? Not that that would be the only reason that Sanji would be drawn to her, but definitely a part of it. He would just see his mom in her. I can imagine the Devine fury he would exhibit when he learns about Kuro, lol.

And on top of that, I can see Kaya having difficulties with food and eating because of the whole poisoning thing, and I feel like if she joined the crew Sanji would deeply sympathize with her struggles, so he lets her stay in the kitchen while he’s cooking so she can see what he’s doing whenever he makes a meal or snack for her. It’s gotten to the point where he instinctively calls for her whenever he’s about to start cooking.

Nico (PJO) meet Nico (One Piece)

Nico is being a distrustful traumatized emo (said affectionately), with Robin being all knowing and also traumatized. They will bond over being villainized as children for things outside of their control. Sanji will make them snacks and mocktails, and then he will join the club (the “I Was Ostracized And Villainized As A Child For Things Outside Of My Control” club). My headcanon is that the three of them would be in their own emotional support group for each other. Sanji will make Nico Italian desserts like tiramisu and gelato, they’d all talk about their respective dead family members, their partners (Robin would find how both of the other two get so flustered and gay about their boyfriends incredibly amusing) etc, etc…

Here’s a lil sketch… I’m thinking I should draw a character I like in lingerie for every holiday… (if they’re legal adults ofc)

On a different note this is kind of a WIP, because I’m probably going to color it later and maybe work on the pose and proportions a bit bc something feels a bit off…. His face is too small maybe…

Anyway if ur wondering why Sanji, it’s because One Piece is constantly floating around somewhere in my brain and Sanji is my favorite pretty boy 💖. Don’t worry Zoro is most likely next 😈 lmk what holiday I should theme his set after! (I’m from America and am not very familiar with foreign holidays in other countries, but I’m very willing to take suggestions!)

Sanji is being incredibly confident here and his high heels (although I forgot to add them) are incredibly durable and pointy, which means that they are certified weapons of mass destruction when being worn by Sanji, which Zoro finds unbearably sexy.
