in spite of it all, happy 2026 pride.
you can download current and past hi-res versions of these over at my ko-fi (ok to print for personal use): https://ko-fi.com/mxmorgan/shop/freedownloads
you can also snag shirts here which go to various orgs: https://mxmorgan.threadless.com/collections/pride
these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.
final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍

remember that pride is still a protest
This pride month! If you've been questioning identifying with the intersex label for however long, this is your sign you should consider trying it out seriously. Btw. Or perhaps dip your toes into it via microlabels like extersex (link) or perintersex (link) or perisexn't (link). tldr to describe your situation Not Being 100% Perisex Typical! all if you prefer. It should also go of course without saying if you never questioned it A: this is also your sign you're allowed to B: even if you aren't inclined you should consider learning about us this pride month too anyway.
One explicit rule for this post !!!! No doubting yourself in my notes because "well my doctor hasn't said—" Shaking your shoulders!!!!! medicine is wildly intersexist!! They often lie to very "obviously" intersex people sometimes to the point of harm by ignoring their variation! I know too many horror stories sadly!! Medicine and doctors CAN help you with numbers and images and hard information about your body to lead you to a more clear answer if necessary that much is all true, but you know how your body feels and looks best because you're in it all the time! And ultimately, I will say it infinitely, intersex is first and foremost a social & political label!!!! Medical diagnosis of any variation is NOT a prerequisite to identify with being intersex, and anyone who says such is intermedicalist (link) and not worth listening to, much like transmedicalists!!!!!
Oh by the way. Sliding this in real awkwardly for a pride month post but anyway check out An Intersex Jam 2026 they're running this year too make it big go go go !!!
A game jam from 2026-05-30 to 2026-07-01 hosted by versegm & Prae Obscura. About the Jam The aim of this jam is to promote & encourage the c
happy pride
I fear many perisex trans people do not take intersexism seriously as an axis of marginalization at all and in fact view intersex people primarily as convenient talking points to boost their own oppression.
Slurs used against intersex people are often taken and reclaimed for perisex trans people who then shut the door on us, telling intersex people these slurs were never "really" for us and that we need to keep our mouth shut on their usage.
Terminology we coin is similarly taken by perisex trans people, and then their usage is twisted and turned around to bludgeon us with in the endless attempt to fit intersex people into the box of agab based 'girl intersex' or 'boy intersex' for the sake of making trans discourse cleaner.
While it may seem harmless on the surface, even things like intersex animals being consistently held up as "trans icons" while their intersex status is ignored, is representative of the larger problem.
We're fetishized, propped up as "transition goals", people gush about what they imagine intersex bodies to be, joke about- or in rare cases, seriously claim- to be "transitioning into being intersex", because to them intersex people are a fetishized aesthetic.
And then, anybody who doesn't fit into their fetishized view of the 'true hermaphrodite' are treated as if they're not intersex at all. How often do perisex people mockingly deride who they view as "just cis women with pcos" for daring to try to have a voice in gendered conversations? As if hormonally intersex people are 'fakers' in some way.
We're used as a talking point, constantly, against transphobes.
"How can transphobia be 'basic biology' when even sex isn't binary?" perisex trans people challenge transphobes, but then, as soon as they're done using us as a gotcha, those same perisex trans people try to push us into a sex binary that doesn't fit us.
There's an envy, almost, to how perisex trans people talk about "cis children" having access to "gender affirming care" like surgeries and hormones, speaking about our medical abuse, the medical mutilation of our children, as if it's a privilege to us as "cis people", rather than a horrible oppression our community faces.
And then there's the argument, on how transmisogynistic laws impact "cis women" (intersex people) as well, as if this is something transphobes are unaware of. Whether they'll say it or not, very few pericis people care to differentiate between a "hermaphrodite" and a "transsexual" in their minds, intersex people are not collateral damage, we are intended targets.
Not to mention how intersex people are also used as weapons in intra-community discourse within the trans community as well, people will tack on the concept of intersexism to an argument to legitimize it while refusing to listen to or engage with our community, at least, beyond the few intersex people with internalized intersexism they can find to boost their points and then drop. We are a talking point, but we ourselves are never given the space to talk, because fundamentally our oppression is seen as lesser, 'collateral' in transphobia, this is why perisex trans people seem to think we're a good debate point to use against transphobes who surely care about us.
This concept of intersex people as "collateral" is also what fuels the concept that trans people can, and should, "just pretend to be intersex" to get out of instances of oppression, as if intersex people don't experience horrible violence regardless, for looking the way we do, for being what we are. Actually talk to almost any intersex person and I'm sure they'll be able to give you countless examples of times "I just have a condition" didn't save them, because intersex people too are active targets of gendered violence and oppression.
Even intersex people who are also trans are frequently given a lesser seat at the table. Because we're "lucky", because surely we have an easier time transitioning, a head start, and surely by virtue of being intersex we- especially intersex people people with an ISIG- can more easily be 'accepted' as another gender anyways, so rather than intersex trans people being treated as more vulnerable, because of how intersexism and transphobia intersect to doubly marginalize us, we're viewed as somehow 'less trans', or at least impacted less significantly by transphobia, and, well, functionally, it seems a lot of trans people do not believe intersexism exists, or if they do believe in it, they view it as a misdirected and lesser form of transphobia.
And I'm tired of it. I'm tired of intersex terminology and oppression and symbols being co-opted by perisex people who then try to claim those things were never ours at all, I'm tired of being a talking point for people to use for their benefit without having a voice of our own, I'm tired of us being rhetorical props to be put back in our boxes when perisex people are done using us, I'm tired of our community being derisively talked over from all sides, I'm tired of the fetishization, the envy, the belittling, and of still having to meekly and respectfully beg for a seat at the table in discussions of gendered oppression!
Speaking as someone who is both trans and intersex: the trans community has a massive intersexism problem, and I'm tired of begging for scraps of solidarity from people who are more than happy to use us when it benefits them!
Found out this week that I have a genital variation that falls under the intersex umbrella. I'm still a little on the fence about if I want to actively identify as intersex or not, but either way it's really nice to know about this and to have an answer for some of the issues I have.
Very grateful to the intersex folks putting a lot of their time and effort into spreading education/resources and awareness of various intersex variations for making it possible for me to have this discovery. Y'all are doing incredible work, thank you so much.

Recently saw a post that was like "People have been stretching the label of intersex lately. A lot of people are saying they're intersex when all they have is mild vulvar hypospadias, and their urethra isn't even inside their vagina."
I'm paraphrasing, and this user said a whole lot more weird shit, including that you need to either have experienced CIMI or have the "threat of CIMI" in order to be intersex.
So I commented this:
And I'm posting it here cause I thought i worded it pretty well. I don't think I'm usually this harshly direct, but I think it was reasonable in this situation.
Then I blocked the user cause I can't deal with this.
i really appreciate the support. i saw that post and it sucked to see. esp since it seems like people with vh across the board tend to be affected by it in some way
in my survey (link) over 50% said they experience dyspareunia (pain during sex) and pain when using menstrual products and 40% experience chronic UTIs and incidents of incontinence/near-incontinence. & the sample was split abt 32 / 32 / 15 / 19 for partial/subtotal/total/unsure. it may not seem like a big deal but even when its "not even inside the vagina" it can still have an impact on your life and health! and even trying to say "oh well i'm only talking abt mild hypospadias" as if that line of logic doesn't end up hurting everyone with hypospadias, for the exact reason you said above.
& while the idea that we should define being intersex around our abuse is fucked up in general, we should also consider that people w vh are less likely to be targeted because we are so ignored + erased medically. the shitty thing is as awareness rises doctors will go from denying our existence to insisting we get "fixed" as soon as possible. and if you DO get recognized by a doctor then you'd have to get lucky twice to have one who then won't push you to get surgery. this is absolutely true of hymen variations too.
while imperforate does have the genuine medical issue of blood build up so hymenectomies can be genuinely necessary, i KNOW people with septate and microperforate hymens have been pressured into hymenectomies. people with labial fusion have told me abt being operated on on a whim without pain meds. these are "minor" variations but people ARE targeted by CIMI and then don't even have the words for what happened to them or what their bodies were like before. you aren't "allowed" to be hurt by this shit bc the hymen "doesn't matter" and "don't you want to be normal and have normal (penetrative) sex with your husband???" and we aren't allowed to feel any other way abt our bodies other than wanting to be "normal." vulvar hypospadias and other vulvar variations aren't just intersex on a technicality.
even talking abt being targeted by intersexism; 21% of the survey said they'd experienced medical neglect, mistreatment, abuse, or general poor medical care multiple times as a result of having hypospadias, 10.3% said they'd experienced it once or twice, and 19.8% said they'd experienced something that might count but were not sure. and many people mentioned avoiding seeing a doctor out of lack of access or fear of mistreatment.
its literally the same shit ppl do w PMOS. bc intersexism tells us that intersex people MUST be this super special rare exception & so whenever people realize that smth that is actually fairly common falls under the umbrella, they start complaining abt ppl w ""mild"" variations. i think its absolutely true that ppl who are less impacted day to day by intersexism should be considerate of that, esp when it comes to talking abt CIMI and the most violent forms of intersex oppression. i also think that this kind of thinking inevitably leads people (INCLUDING SOOO MANY PERISEX PEOPLE!) feeling comfortable demanding private personal information abt your genitals and what kinds of abuse and harassment you've experienced bc they just ~got a vibe~ that you are one of those fake intersex people who don't count, and people who have ""severe"" variations and have experienced CIMI will be expected to make all that public info to convince people they count.
it is like. soo fully okay to just say "hey if you are brand new to the community and haven't experienced a lot of intersexism personally, please show respect + watch yourself, don't speak over people." intersex people can be intersex and tactless! they can even be targeted by intersexism while doing it! this is why i wrote that intersex rights & responsibilities post, so we could talk abt issues like this without falling into intermedicalism & exclusionism :/
Oh absolutely, ALL OF THIS!!
You are doing some really good work for the intersex community. It is the fault of intersexism that vulvar hypospadias (of all kinds) is so under-researched and ignored, and to act like violence and mistreatment on the basis of this intersex trait isn't "enough" for it to count as intersex is so insidious, and clearly intersexist.
I've had enough of people acting as though they speak on behalf of the whole intersex community with their intersexism, or like they're protecting people with ""severe"" intersex traits/variations with their exclusionist actions. No one asked for that.
I hope MORE people realize they have hypospadias.
I honestly think being intersex is WAY more common than a lot of people realize.
Like, not just 1.7%-2% kind of common. I mean like 10-20% kind of common. That's how common I actually think intersexuality is, especially when I hear all these stories about people who just realized they had vulvar hypospadias, since they thought it was perisex-typical. Or all these people who just realized that PCOS and NCAH are intersex, since they thought those were perisex-typical. Or all these people who are starting to accept that their micropenises are intersex traits instead of feeling ashamed about them. And on and on.

terms like lavenboy and violegirl but with queer femaleness/maleness! anon asked for the queer male girl term and i wanted to also coin a boy counterpart. the top three stripes are a gradient between purple, for queerness, and red-pink/blue, for femaleness/maleness.
'fuchsi' comes from 'fuchsia', in reference to several flowers of the fuchsia genius that are both pink and purple, pinkish-purple/purplish-pink, etc.; 'hyaci' comes from 'hyacinth', which has blue and purple varieties, and also 'hyacinthoides', the genus of bluebells, several variants of which are indigo, purplish-blue/bluish-purple, etc.!

🏳️⚧️ TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY 🏳️⚧️
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN
trans people of all sorts deserve to see bodies like their own represented in trans positive and trans affirming art, not just in transphobic caricatures by ter/fs and conservatives.
and sometimes that means, yes, trans men drawn with long hair and big breasts and wide hips, and trans women with facial hair and broad shoulders and angular jawlines. because folks who look like that deserve to see themselves in art that looks both like them and isn't making fun of them, but is celebrating them and their gender(s).
the alternative to transphobic caricatures of trans people is not to insist that no trans person could possibly look like that, and depicting trans people who remotely resemble that are inherently transphobic jfc
It genuinely appears to be a kind of second-hand embarrassment or second-hand dysphoria. It's like what the trans community was dealing with years ago with "trans-trenders" and blahblahblah. It also appears this idea never left people's minds. The idea that there's no wAY a trans person could honestly and comfortably appear to be what other hateful people would see as a caricature.
But the problem is there are. There are many trans people, in fact, who do not mind that they look "visibly trans." There are trans folks who thrive with this knowledge, in fact, but it's other trans folks who say that the way they look, the way they act, and the way they present themselves to others is somehow harmful to the community as a whole. These trans folks look at the ones being "weird" with their genders and actively try to shut them down, shove them in a corner, and hope they get lost somewhere along the way. Because they shouldn't be part of the public picture people have of the trans community.
Another big problem is that... there are trans people who look like a "caricature" because their transition just started, or they've hit a road block in their transition, or because it is not Safe for them to transition yet. They might have a goal, but it could be unattainable to them because of their disability, their financial affairs, their familial world, their health in general-- And what kind of representation do they get in the community?
I would have hoped if they were looking for art of trans people like them, they would be able to find it. They would be able to find joy in it. They wouldn't have to worry about the artist drawing others like them being a fetishist. But no, they get told by other trans folks that NO ONE LOOKS LIKE THEM! If they do they're not trying hard enough! If they do they're obvIOUSLY not really trans! Or some other bullshit someone else decided that others have to parrot because they have no brains of their own!!
Some trans people have clearly forgotten that when one identifies as trans, they don't just get to snap their fingers and become whatever idealized self they want! They have to TRANSITION to get there if they have the means and the want! The baby trans people who just started will almost definitely be the ones whose chosen clothes don't fit because they're too tall or broad or too short and stocky, the ones who try to hide their high voices or try to avoid talking with their deep voices, and there will most certainly be those types of folks who meet each other and smile. Because they know what that is like.
I've never forgotten where I came from in my transition. I've never forgotten the pangs of hurt in my chest when I was misgendered, I've never forgotten the fear that clutched my heart if someone looked at me for too long before addressing me, and I've never forgotten the joy of the first trans guy I ever met giving to me his first and only trans pride flag because he saw ME, a baby trans man, simply wanting to belong.
I still have that flag hanging up on my wall, and I still remember what I looked like when I was given it. I looked like a caricature.
And I was happy to be seen.
Get rid of your second-hand embarrassment and don't make your second-hand dysphoria other people's problems. Artists often draw themselves or others they know. So you're showing your Ass in saying those people don't exist or shouldn't exist.
