Important quotes to take from this article, that sums up perfectly why Daenarys’ treatment in season 8 was so heartbreaking..(long post with bullet points for easy reading):

“Don’t even get me started on Varys, who didn’t write a single letter to a single lord to gain intel against Cersei or an ally for Dany but did find time to spread the word about Jon’s true parentage…”

On the Sansa v Dany struggle:

Her Isolation:

Why, exactly, the Northerners don’t appreciate her dragons — without which they could not have defeated the Army of the Dead.…”

On Missandei:

“Game of Thrones fridged Missandei. There’s no other way to put it. Her capture and death happens just so Daenerys would feel isolated. The fact that the writers turned the only major black female character on the show into a device to motivate Daenerys feels even more cringeworthy.”

“The fairly quick transition from complicated hero to totally mad villain leaned heavily on an oft-repeated line: “every time a Targaryen is born, the gods toss a coin”. But should Daenerys’ Targaryen blood necessarily doom her? After all, Jon is half Targaryen, too. So why does he get to sit comfortably on the other side of the coin?…The show has long been obsessed with various characters’ struggles to shake their family’s legacies. Tyrion killed his own father and joined Team Daenerys, only to betray Daenerys in order to help his family again.“

Openly admires Donna’s search for freedom and empowerment.

Deeply respects Kitty’s job as a nurse, mother and wife. Constantly helps her with house chores, food and fixing things around her house.

Eric assumes Donna will be a stay at home wife and will take care alone of the babies, to which he answers with: “Donna, man. Forman’s just limited by his experiences. As the voice of a new generation of smart, independent women, you need to make this dillhole realize that a mind and spirit like yours has more options than your mothers had.”

Immediately calls out Kelso on his bullshit when he cheats on Jackie and is the first one to step in to defend her when everyone else tries to make her feel bad all the time.

Thinks Jackie, a girl he doesn’t like, should and can do better than Kelso. Constantly tells her this and is disappointed at her getting back together with the cheater.

Believes Donna’s decision of not accepting Eric’s promise ring are right ones and supports her during the break up, even when Eric is his best friend/brother.

Punches assholes that call other girls names and want to use them only for sex.

Firmly believes women should not be only breeders or depend on a man, things that later he let Jackie know by telling her she should and can work for her own nice stuff.

Also reminds her he is NOT like Eric, and will happily cherish her in her success in the career of her choice. He won’t mind her being more successful than him and winning more than him.

Stands up for Brooke when asshole Kelso decides he won’t do anything about Betsy when he first hears the news about Brooke’s pregnancy. Makes him get some reason and do right by her and their unborn child.

From mouth to mouth, they say he lives in silence a top of the Night’s Watch, walks along others wearing black that call him Lord Commander and watch him walk alone in the night when the cold is more cruel until morrow comes and he is back in his chambers, alone and ever silent.

He never leaves the castle, barely leaves his chambers. He only resurges at night to meet the White Lady that haunts the place, the men say when they go down to town.

That they hear the chain he wears on his wrist and around his hand, when he walks alone, murmuring back to the White Lady at his side.

She whispers for him to come to her when he has paid for what he has done, she awaits with child. They await his homecoming. 

The mad man refuses her sight, her voice, her touch, yet always follows her direction with his eyes to the ground. And he speaks of her and sometimes even dares talk to her, like only a mad man can believe its ghosts are real. 

He sees her at down, too. In the snow and beyond the wall. She’s always there, the men say to have seen her too. The White Lady with her almost full belly, her red cheeks, pink lips, white hair.

She’s always there. 

“I killed the woman I love”, he answers when Lords come and ask why he has exiled himself to the North, smelling of smoke and holding himself miserable, all in black, chain in his hand.

“I killed the woman I love,” he talks of her like if she was still breathing, his White Lady that never leaves, that mourns at night his lost mind.

He is a mad man now, starving himself from the rest of the world, refusing to see the King and the Lady in the North that call him a brother, even if people believes him the last true Stark standing, the hero of Westeros.

Sometimes, there’s a gilmmer of purple in his eyes when he looks at those who call him that. He refuses the name, the people, the story. Refuses the fire in the coldest nights as he refuses guards and more men when going beyond the wall.

“He is mad”, the men say. 

“He wants to die.”, and he tries and tries, and tries, yet always comes back.

Jon Snow is a mad men that speaks alone at night, holds around his right hand a chain with a three headed dragon until it numbs it, that wants to die, yet refuses to at the end.

“I killed the woman I love,” he answers when asked why, in spite of the subtle attempts and his disenchantment of the world, he doesn’t die. “I killed my only child.”

One day, the men say, he will purge his sins and the White Lady will take him back.

I won’t be writing this AU anymore (I’m sorry, here is the reason). But I can share with you the general idea:

Canon Divergence from the show, season 6.

When Eric leaves Donna at the altar, he doesn’t comes back that night, nor the next day, nor in a week. His parents call the police, an investigation is opened as strange stuff start happening in Point Place. Then, Donna disappears too.

The police thinks they ran away together at the end and because there’s no much evidence that says otherwise, they kinda let it go, but the rest of the gang and their parents know something more is going on. At the same time, Kelso steals the report on Donna’s case from the Police Station.

He shows it only to Hyde, he doesn’t want Fez to tell anyone or to scare Jackie and when Hyde reads it, he understands why. The thing talks about something that could had been taking people at the lake, it shows pictures of something near the lake they used to go swining and that something, doesn’t look human nor animal, just– a monster.

It says the monster may have taken Donna, since a female shoe was found near a few drops of blood they are waiting to confirm is hers; it also says an informer had seen the monster, another one who says they got a call from Donna (who only repeated Jackie’s name and then, somehow, the phone got burned) and someone claiming weird stuff happening to the lights and energy at the station Donna works in. 

They recognize the shoe and Kelso leaves the file back at the station as they figure out what to do and if they should talk about this with Bob, their friends, or not.
