My only complaint about Steven Universe is that it's so good that now I'm hyper-aware of the flaws of every other show. Like I genuinely can't unsee other shows villifying fat and autistic people, or treating kids like person-shaped objects, or being weird about same sex couples. Like I know now for a fact it's not "hard to depict". These other shows were just being trashy for no reason

My relationship with my younger male self is so weird. At times I feel like I'm a kind of parent to them if that makes sense. Like, I can't physically interact with them but I still devote my actions to them. I try to be strong where he was weak and brave where he was afraid, because he has no other role models, and he needs someone to look up to.

But simultaneously I also sometimes feel as though I'm being raised by my future self, who is as kind and happy as I imagine her to be. She's the one person I can look up to and aspire to be like, both for my current self and my past self.

But she is also being raised by her future self, and that self by her future self, and so on and so forth until the grave.

So at times I feel as if I am in a weird position: nothing more than a child raising a child
