After the tragic death of your parents, you and your younger brother are shipped off to the small town of Springview to live with your Aunt.
Sure, sheโs not the most โฆ well-adjusted woman ... but moving to this quaint and secluded community grants you a chance to start fresh. That is until your brother suddenly disappears without a trace.
You take every possible measure to try and find him, but this proves to be a difficult task considering no oneโs ever heard of him aside from you. In fact, thereโs no record of him ever being born.
Now, eight years since his disappearance, you're still struggling to figure out whether youโve lost your brother ... or simply lost your mind.
If that wasnโt daunting enough, it appears that the town of Springview might be hiding some dark secrets of its own.

Logan Wells (21, m/f): Your ex. Unsurprisingly, attempting a serious relationship whilst constantly questioning your sanity didnโt end in any โhappily-ever-aftersโ. It's been 2 years since your break-up, and you haven't spoken much in that time, but they still seem to be one of the only people whoโve always had your back.
Brooks Emerson (27, m/f): A private detective. To be more specific, the only detective who just might hear you out. If you can get them to listen to you, maybe that means youโve convinced them that youโre not crazy. Well, that, or maybe theyโre just starting to have a soft spot for you.
Cameron Sloan (24, m/f): Who the hell are they? You have no idea. The only reason you even know their name is because itโs frequently whispered in town gossip. This gossip doesn't paint them in a good light, so you've decided it's probably best to steer clear of them ... it seems that the universe has other plans though.

chapter four is done!!! and it's a big ass chapter!!! very, very happy with how the chapter turned out, especially the many different branches that change the course of it each time! I'm sad to say though that this will be the last chapter update for a little while, bc I'm in the last week of my semester which means the next month is gonna be full of exams, presentations and essays and writing this game is gonna be a lower priority for now.

some unhinged merc moments that change depending on ur ruthless/merciful stat
a hint about your past!!! and future!!!
pretty graphic kills so, I'd like to take the time to remind you all that this game is intended for ppl aged 18+
what the next update will include:
not a chapter 5
more customization; will add hairstyle and colour options that flow naturally
prostethics choice at the beginning of the game
reactions of the ro's to your clothes (as well as more options) and hair
continuity errors will be removed
cleaning up the general code and some of the writing I didn't like
probably an update about how it's looking with converting the game to twine
word count goes from 35k words up to 66k without code!! average playthrough from 23k to 42k

hi guys! i'm very sorry for disappearing, and also for the demo not being posted, but a couple weeks ago my grandpa passed away. i won't even lie to y'all, it's been tough lol, and i haven't had any motivation to do anything :/
i've been feeling better so i've started working on the finishing up the demo again. i can't give a specific date just bc i'm still dealing with the loss of someone i was very close to BUT this doesn't mean i'm going to give up on the story bc i'm really excited about sharing it.

Death of a Savior is an upcoming interactive fiction game set in Choicescript. It is a dark fantasy story that focusโs on the consequences of your own desires. How you go about those desires? Well, lets just say it can alter the course of the world.ย
Having heard of a powerful weapon that could kill any foe, you set out on a quest to retrieve it for your own personal gain. On your way, you soon learn youโre not the only one looking for this weapon. The Silent Army races against you, using every chance they can to stop you. Outsmarting your every move before anything else.
When they get ahead, you think they have won, but a mysterious creature named The Angel appears to help you in your journey. They tell you of a way to beat the Army, however it requires more than you could ever possibly give. They exclaim you have to do it for the weapon is your fate and without it, you could be at the receiving end of the very thing you promised yourself. However, the Angel isnโt at all who they appear to be. Theyโre someone else. Someone more dark yet familiar in a way you cannot place.ย
Deeper into your journey, you learn what the weapon really is and who you really are underneath who you thought you were.

Play one of three storylines, all leading to different outcomes.

Learn the mystery surrounding the weapon.

the idea for this story actually came from a scary ass dream I had a couple years ago LOL - I told my roommate about it, and one of us jokingly said that we should make a movie about the it, so we talked ab a few plot ideas just for fun ... then, recently, i was remembering what we had talked about & I was like no bc this could actually be a dope story?? - so I decided to write it!ย
my roommate let me bounce ideas off her when I was acc trying to form a concrete plot, bc sheโs an iconย ๐ย - i wouldn't have been able to flesh out this idea without her listening to me talk ab different plot ideas for 1000 hours LMAO
โHorrorโ is a very broad topic! There are a lot of games out there in the horror genre but also games that donโt consider themselves horror but do contain horror elements.

How would the LIs react to the MC telling them that they're proud of them?
Logan smiles instantly, their heart swelling at your comment. they reach out and gently take your hand, interlocking their fingers with yours. "I'm proud of you." they say, their words full of sincerity and adoration.
this comment catches Brooks off guard and they avoid eye contact. they mutter a quiet thank you, before turning their attention back to their work, but you can see a small smile tug at their lips.
Cameron's eyes immediately snap up to meet your own. they scan your face, as if they're trying to figure out whether you're being serious or not. they look like they're about to say something but, instead, they scoff and turn away from you.

I know you said that sharing a bed is a spoiler so feel free not to answer this buuuuut....how would the ROs react if they happened to fall asleep beside the MC and woke up to the MC cuddled up to them? ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

Logan feels their heart inflate at the sight of you cuddled up to them, followed by a tinge of sadness. this scene is all too familiar, it reminds them of when this used to be a consistent part of their daily routine.
they know that you rarely get any rest, so they allow you to sleep for as long as you need. they remain very still, letting you nuzzle into them, even though it hurts to have you so close to them when they know that you two aren't together anymore.

*file Brooks-exe has shut down, system reboot in progress* - they're very flustered (this is shocking to literally no one). their brain is shouting at them to move but they stay there for a moment longer, relishing in how comfortable they feel being so close to you.
then they carefully untangle themselves from you, making sure not to wake you. they hope you don't bring it up later, as they'd prefer to just pretend it didn't happen.

Cameron immediately takes your arm to remove you but they pause as soon as they touch you, taking in peaceful you look. an unfamiliar feeling courses through them and they remain frozen in place, trying to discern what it is that they're feeling.
before they can figure it out, they snap back to reality, now hyper-aware of how you're draped over them. they push themselves out of bed and hastily march over to the door, not bothering to see if they've woken you up or not.
