With the context of how they started, what did Martyr see in Fragment for them to get as close as they are?
well, here's my rough idea:
martyr, as always, is searching the multiverses for Void's crystals before Void can find them.
one of these crystals was found by Ink (the one canon to the Fragmentedtale blog)
Ink only had it for a little bit before Martyr found him
and, being the master communicator he is, Martyr explained nothing, did not ask kindly for it back, and just attacked Ink to try and take the crystal away by force
this fight happened to end up with the stumbling through an ink portal straight into fragment/fracture's living room, where error was taking care of his adopted sons (/hj)
error, being so very helpful, watched Ink fighting a stranger and refused to lift a finger
fragment was startled by this, and once he glitched, he leapt in and tried to help:
only to get elbowed in the face
Martyr focused back on Ink, shaking him down, only to realize Ink had thrown the crystal to Fragment, who was told to run
martyr didn't see fragment before the glitch, only WHILE he was glitching and after he had already shifted
martyr now has to search EVERY SANS HE SEES to find the crystal
he deems this unknown sans as 'chameleon'
martyr searched the multiverses ten times over, shaking down every skeleton he sees
he returns back to Fragmentedtale several times, threatening every monster for information
poor, innocent hearted Fracture.
When fracture accidentally spilled that the 'shapeshifter' was his brother, Martyr forced his way into the home and tied Fracture to a chair so they could wait out until Fragment got home.
Martyr planned for Fracture to be his bargaining chip, but they ended up having a rather nice conversation and Martyr admitted that he needed the crystal because it had a monster soul inside of it that he was trying to free
Martyr bonded with fracture before he even knew fragment's name
Martyr untied fracture due to how understanding he was
why did martyr explain himself to fracture and no one else? He didn't feel the need to explain himself bc he's kinda dense and rudeš¤·
it was kinda just an 'on sight' thing. But things were calm and non-hostile with a papyrus instead of another sans
when fragment DID get home, he saw his brother with the guy who elbowed him in the face and chased him down across the multiverse about a month back
awkward dinner: since Fracture insisted they all sit down and talk about this over some spaghetti
martyr isn't much of a talker, so the first hour or so was just him staring down Fragment as Fracture explained why Martyr was there (and got off topic several times)
I imagine that fragment willingly handed over the crystal (though probably hesitantly) once Fracture told him about the monster soul trapped in there.
martyr gave a nod of thanks and left without a word once everyone was done eating
though, a week or so later, he came back.
fragment jumped like a scared cat when seeing Martyr on his couch, yelling to the kitchen "PAPS. THE ROCK GUY IS BACK-" or something along those lines, with Fracture happily telling him he's invited Martyr to join them for dinner every Saturday, seeing as Martyr doesn't get to have family dinners often, since his roommate (antivoidmate?) is always busy fighting with his ex husband
