There are people whose generosity we never forget. Not because they gave us something expensive, but because we knew that what they gave came sincerely from the heart. It may have been a meal shared when they themselves had little, a friend who stayed when everybody else had gone, a parent quietly sacrificing for the family, or someone who helped without announcing it to others. There is something different about this kind of generosity. It does not make us feel indebted. It makes us feel seen and loved. Read the full homily on A Dose of God Today.
The first female suicide bombers in Lebanon were Christian teens โ a 17-year-old Sanaa Mheidly (1985) and a 27-year-old Norma Abi Hassan (1986).
They targeted Israeli-occupied checkpoints in Jezzine, South Lebanon, using their bodies as weapons against โGomeriteโ forces.
Four Blessed Carmelite martyrs speak of mercy, union with Jesus, joy in Carmel, and surrender.
...They will make you outcasts from the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. โThese things they will do because they have not known the Father or Me." ...
John 16:2-4

Prayers and praise to the Lord for the young man Kareem who was martyred for proclaiming his faith despite being sent to a Muslim conversion camp.
May we take joy in the Lord for the crown He bestows onto His faithful saints and share in the sorrow of our brothers and sisters whose lives are lived in persecution and in the valleys of shadows and death, for they shall fear no evil. For they lay their lives down for one another, as Stephen had, and see the glory of Christ stand for them. Lord, your mercy upon us, and those who do not know what they are doing, is so great. How we neglect to fathom your goodness everyday Lord. Please have mercy on us.
Why do these Muslims in small numbers defeat kuffar [non-Muslims] of great numbers? Why? Because the Muslims love death and the kuffar love life. That's why. Is another reason. Okay, so it doesn't matter the numbers, they have an advantage from the beginning because they love death. Meaning they love to die for the sake of Allah.
The problem is when we make the dunya [moral world] our ultimate goal and not the akhirah [afterlife]. Our goal in this dunya should not be to see who is the most powerful or who can make the most money, but to realize this dunya is nothing but a test, just a means to get to the akhirah.
The shaheed [martyrs] would not feel the struggle of death except like a mosquito bite. Akhirah is the long-lasting, not this dunya. We're not working in this dunya for dunya itself. We're taking this dunya as a transition to the hereafter.
If you become Muslim, you are like us and you are one of us. If you do not become Muslim, then I have brought a people with me that love death in the path of Allah, like you love your wine, your alcohol, your drink, or you love your life of dunya.
Allah told us directly that numbers don't really matter. Who's ready to die and become a martyr right now versus who is kind of clinging to the Earth, as Allah says in Surah At-Tawbah. So we don't care about numbers in that sense. We don't care if we're 1% of the population.
Sacrifice for a cause. What does it mean to live and to die for Allah, not just to live but to live and to die for Allah? The way the companions lived their lives, sacrificing for a cause, living and dying for Allah. So this idea of continuing a cause with patience and steadfastness for you and I. We learn from this battle, we learn from the companions that we remain patient and steadfast, teaching us that when people live and die for the sake of Allah, Allah will honor them.

O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of worldly life compared to the Hereafter except a [very] little.

I can't think of a single reason why we shouldn't give them exactly what they want, as efficiently as possible.
