Welcome to the first week of Nirvana in Fire Fanworks Fest- Lightning Round! 

Our first weekly prompt is: 

BEYOND ROMANCE

Don’t get us wrong; we LOVE romance (and cry about it all the time). But romantic love is just one type of love. This week, we encourage you to go ‘Beyond Romance’ and explore different types of love, amongst the varied and complex bonds these characters share with each other. 

Here are some ideas to get you started! The possibilities are endless! 

+FAMILY FOCUS: familial bonds of the Lin fam? the Xiao fam? JR’s fam? THE YAN FAM!? Jingmum and JY ;___; 

+FOUND FAMILY/SIBLINGHOOD: Found Family amongst JiangZuo and/or Chiyan? The XuanJing Bureau’s season “siblings”? The Hua girls and their bonds of kinship? 

+ FRIENDSHIP AND FEALTY: The Parents Generation and how they grew up together? Li Gang and Zhen Ping? JY-LS-NH growing up together? LIE ZHAN YING and his Prince Jing??? Meng Zhi’s unwavering support of MCS? /lies down

It is 4 rounds of week-long themed challenges!

Each sunday, a theme will be posted.  Create something in line with the theme during that week, submit it, and it will be posted on the following Saturday. The goal is to get inspired and create content while having fun! :) 

GUIDELINES

+Please submit works related to that week’s theme

+ANY MEDIUM is welcome! If you can think it, we wanna see it. (fanvid, craft, bake cookies, compile a playlist, do quote calligraphy, blend tea, gifs, photosets, translations, etc) Collaboration is encouraged, derivative work is encouraged (EX: fanart or podfic of a fic, chatfic based on a fanart, etc)

+ Your Kink Is Not My Kink & That’s OK. Please be respectful of others.

What if I need more time (like MCS) than a week? 

There will be a general posting period at the end of the fest, when you can submit your entries to any of the prompts in the fest. /peels an orange 

Are there tear streaks still running down your cheeks? 

Do all inanimate white round objects (pearls, marbles… and those damned glutinous rice flour dumplings) make you very very sad like Xiao Jingyan?
