Today, for 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 7 seconds... I remembered.

I remembered again how it felt to smile just by looking at someone. Smile when they talk. Smile when they look at you. Smile when they smile. Smile when you look away. My heart fluttered the way it did when I was in high school. I thought it was a feeling that I’d never feel again now that I’ve grown. It turns out that I just hadn’t felt it. Not because of time. But because of the people I thought was supposed to make me feel something.

Today, for 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 7 seconds... I remembered.

I remembered again how it felt to be called beautiful and not doubt his sincerity. I remembered again what a joy it is to talk about random things. It wasn’t intelligent. It wasn’t dumb. It was just... normal. I remembered again how happy it can make you just by looking at someone... listening to someone... and having that someone look at you... and listen to you.

Today, for 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 7 seconds... I remembered.

I bet you think that I hate you That I've cut you off my life I bet you're shaking just thinking of approaching me

I bet you know all the things you did wrong and you're counting everything but let me tell you, oh hon don't worry you did the right thing

Well yes, you hurt me, disappointed me and you proved me wrong when I chose to believe well yes, you lied to me a lot of times, repeatedly but I took it all optimistically

The best thing you did for me was you didn't hold onto me 'cause maybe if you did, you'd still be here The best thing you did for me was constantly ignoring me 'cause maybe if you'd noticed I'd be there I know that 5 years later you'll regret this, 10 years later you'll ask 'what if' in 20 years your grandkids will know I used to text you everyday but 5 years later I'll forget this 10 years, touring 50 countries in 20 years I won't even know your name The best thing you did was pushing me away

I gotta thank you for a lot of things like not picking me over your insecurities 'cause if you did maybe it would've been romantic

I gotta say you saved me by choosing trouble when you had me 'cause maybe if you'd kept me I'd be stuck on the sidelines tired of the sunrise sleeping on a friday night

but by then I hope you're happy with the decisions you have made and I hope you find true love when you pushed me away I hope by then you've stopped your game of stealing hearts then throwing them away and there's nothing in your life that you regret
