I'm a little (too) slow in updating tumblr. Busy with work. Although I come across many interesting characters, events, occurrence in my daily life but many did not make it here to tumblr. And plus, I'm a toddler in tumblr by comparison to the people i recently started following. Thanks to those who followed :)

Why? I think my generation is just not used to publishing our daily encounters for the whole wide world to see. I may be wrong by generalizing that way. However, that feeling has changed now with tumblr.

I feel tumblr is by far the most genuine feeling of social networking sites. Such is the power of visual. Globalization has no new meaning to me but has a new impact on me. Who need facebook anyway? (FB fan please don't get upset with me ;p)

This is my new Afghani friend, Tamim.

We met for the first time a couple of weeks ago at a function where he was videographing and I was photographing the event. We were both asked to do it as a favor by a mutual friend. I never knew he is an Afghani until after we talked in my hotel room after the function (I got a room as my photography fee! :3)

Tamim came with his Afghani younger friend, Obaid. They are both studying in a local college here in KL.

I never met any Afghani before. Can you imagine the excitement? Its like show and tell in kindergarten however with a more serious undertone.

Tamim is very easy to approach in fact he was the one who started asking me questions. But at the end he ended up telling his story growing up in Peshawar and Kabul. Which by far the most touching life story I've ever heard with my own ears. Its like National Geographic magazine but instead of reading it, you are in the article.

Tamim recollected his growing up experience though giving me the short version of it. Most of the detail I will not publish here. I'm thinking of a full blown story once I get to interview him again soon. Must find the time. And more NG mag style photos hopefully!

If you are wondering where Obaid is, he is under the sheet. Catching a nap where ever he can. The moment I told him "Make yourself comfortable guys", wide grin appeared across his face and slid underneath the fluffy bed sheet. Being younger, he is pretty shy but can be cheeky in his SMSes (short messaging system).
